I have a CM-4S and it is a very capable SLR. Nothing fancy for sure and very plasticy, but it is built like a tank and it does the job. Plus, the amount of K mount lenses available is insane. I think those cameras are underrated.

      Totally agree. Great little cameras.

I have one from the 1980s that still works for 35 years still in good condition

Shooting a Chinon CX at the moment, built like a tank, heavier than a Zenit. Dropped it on concrete a month ago, two minor dents to the corners. Charity shop buy, £10, can't complain. Only had a roll of film that I found in the camera (Agfa HDC 200 extra stop for O.o.D. film ), through it, probably needed to push the film in development as well upon inspecting results; but hey ho it was best guess at the time.
The CE-4 buying into the K mount. Pentax must have made an awful lot of money leasing out their designs to so many smaller camera makers. Often considered if they were just rebranded Pentax or whether Pentax had their own brand made by a diverse range of manufacturers.

I'd love to find something like that in a charity shop. Like carboot sales, charity shops aren't what they used to be!

@@PhotoWays Your right. Instead of charity shops undervaluing cameras, and just trying to get the stock out, they're overvaluing just because its film and trying to sell untested cameras, with no returns policy, at top whack internet prices. I've got my eye on a Minolta A9 that's been priced at £250. Its been there for over a year and when I ask about it they say 'its already been reduced'. Considering you can get a body only from Japan for under £200 I'm not surprised its still there. I'd rather give my money to a charity but if its 'gubbed' and I take it back they'll try to fob me off with a credit note.

i just got this for 5 euro. the man thought it was broken but when you add a wired shutter button to the button it screws closed. mine keeps doing it without the thing so each time you want to make a photo you can't press the button

@@MrRadiorobot It wasn't getting any use, so sold to someone who could make better use of it.
