Brilliant video! So good still to have custom bike companies like this around and thriving, doing excellent restorations and new builds etc. You are lucky to have them local to you! Enjoy the channel. Have a great Christmas and New Year. Cheers! 😀
Hi thanks for watching! We hope to see a resurgence of smaller bike companies and Argos are certainly doing things right 🙌 Happy Christmas to you too 🎄😀
Another really interesting video, Paul. What a great company with such a genuine heritage. Their paint work looks amazing. Loved the Claude Butler. Almost too good to ride! Have a great Christmas , you two. And more Brompton videos next year please!
Thanks John. Yes the Claude Butler was so beautiful! As it’s a hardy good quality finish the paint is pretty resilient to riding 👍 Have a great festive season too and noted re Brompton vids!
Hi! I’ve been thinking about restoring my beautiful vintage touring bike with Reynolds 531 and found your video. I love my bike so much and so lovely to ride with. But because I’ve been riding hardly everyday, it’s gone quite rusty 😢 i am going to contact to Argos cycle and hopefully they can give her another life. Thank you for the video.
Nice 👌 As a teenager growing up in Cornwall in the 80's, they were our "local" custom frame builder. I believe that Geoff Littler in Penzance was an agent for them. When I needed some replacement chainstays on my vintage Colnago Master last year, I knew where to take it. They even accommodated my bizarre request of having my Dad's name painted on the seat tube - he had passed away a couple of months previously. Highly recommended 👍
Hi, thanks so much for watching and commenting 👍 This is really interesting to hear and also about 8-9 years ago after my grandad died I had his old Tom Avon frame resprayed by them and asked them to changed the decals to my grandads name including his signature on the top tube. It looks great and you can actually see it for a moment or two in the video - but we do have a longer video coming up about some of my grandads bikes too! Anyway, thanks again. Sarah
This is a trip down memory lane. I remember Geoff Littler and his workshop near the Cornishman office. Growing up on Queen Street Geoff fixed my bikes too many times to remember. Usually putting right all my botched home repairs.
I had my first spray job with them over 30 years ago. For me, over the decades, they've done paint restoration ( Bontrager Racelite ), adaptations ( my Bob Jackson, my '76 Dawes Galaxy, Bob Telfer ) and repairs ( Saracen, Bob Telfer ) and I've only ever seen TOP QUALITY work from them. Best Bike builders/restorers going AND they happen to be local...RESULT!
Thank you for sharing…🚲
Thankyou for watching 👍👍

@@veloworks9266 Excellent! My Dad's name was COLIN, which was easy to make from COLNAGO 👍

@@Hitch179 Do you remember Geoff's father was always sat in the back room of the workshop, supervising proceedings!
