With Kobe shooting 45 percent from the field on 27 shots a game, while Jokic shot 58 percent from the field on 17 shots a game. The 2006 Lakers finished with 45 wins as the sixth seed, while the 2022 Nuggets finished with 48 wins as the sixth seed.

-5 games 1 assist away from TD
-3 games 1 rebound away from TD
-1 game where he was 1 point, rebound and assist away from TD
-2 games 2 rebounds away from TD
-5 games 2 assists away from TD
-1 game where he missed 2 assists and 2 rebounds for TD
-1 game where he missed 2 rebounds and 1 assist for TD
That is 18 games alone where he could esaily increase his stats by reaching TD. But he didn't, because he didn't care.

Perk said since 1990, 3 guys have won the MVP without finishing in the top 10 in scoring - Nash, Nowitzki and Jokic. True with Nash. Nowitzki finished 11th in 2006-7. Jokic finished 6th last year and 10th the year before. He also conveniently left off the guy who plays most similarly to Jokic - Magic Johnson who won 2 of his three MVPs without finishing in the top 10 in scoring. That's why he said since 1990. Magic won his MVPs in 1986, 88 and 89.

I would assume most players stat pads to some degree, but Denver is undefeated with his triple doubles, I would only have a problem if he is hurting his team doing it. I mean Big Perky can try to get a triple double but he might have 30 turnovers at the same time and lose the game…. That’s when it’s a problem.
I don't really get how you're padding stats shooting 63.3%? He's playing within the flow of the game, not forcing anything, even statpadding "efficiency", he's STILL averaging 24.6 points a game, and most of that are real shots, no free throws, and he's not turning the ball over, 3.6 a game on 10 assists. If you're statpadding, the other area with suffer, like Westbrook, yeah he averaged 31.6, BUT he did that shooting an abysmal 42.5%, Yeah he's averaging 10.4 assists, but he's tossing 5.4 Turnovers a game....Jokic is 24.6 a game on 63.3% shooting, he's averaging 10.0 assists a game on 3.6 turnovers, he's HIGH output AND high efficiency.
and what goalpost is anyone moving? Westbrook won an MVP averaging 32/11/10 (albeit shooting 42.5% and averaging 5.4 Turnovers) he STILL got the award being 6 seed in the West, Jokic is doing the same thing, only he's shooting 63%....AND #1 in the west.

Remember that game when he needed one more rebound and in the final second he literally ran away from the ball off the court instead of getting the rebound for a triple double? What about the ones where he’s missed in because of points and he takes like 4 shots the whole game!?

But the 'moving the goal posts' in the MVP race for white players is on a whole different level of messed up. I'm concerned that ESPN would allow this kind of straightforward racialism on their flagship NBA show. Corrosive and toxic racial takes have no place at ESPN.
