Thanks for taking us along. Really enjoyed the hunt. Turned 70 this year and have a really bad back though I can still stand up straight. But I can't walk as far nor sit as long as I used to. But I still like to try. My first bow was a Howard Hill longbow and I was taught to shoot by 2 guys who probably wouldn't measure over 5'5" but they were super hunters and great shots. Your videos take me back to the good old days. Thanks.
Enjoyed it very much. was sitting on the ground one time watching a scrape when all heck exploded about ten feet off to my side. was a bobcat chasing a squirrel up a tree. One morning about day break, I was sitting on the ground with my muzzle loader deer hunting, I had my back to a tree blow over root clump and my wife sitting between my legs. We were both camouflauged up and she was learning about hunting. We had a bunch (at least they sounded like a bunch) of chipmunks chewing us out when they suddenly disappeared. moments later, I whispered to my wife to not move for nothing and to look for a bobcat to her left. The cat eased up and stopped about 3 feet from my foot and just sat there, listening and looking for the chipmunks. Finally it disappeared, my wife was super excited. Yeah, she is a deer hunter now.
Mr Carter, awesome footage and you narrate awesome! keep them videos coming, as they are very informative. have a great day and hope you get one next time.
i agree, his videos are some of my favorites. I'm about review that deer hunting course i bought from you again too, that was really fantastic and helped me get on more public land deer last year.
One thing that really caught my attention was what you captured at 17:39. It looks very much like that could have been an Ivory Billed woodpecker. The way it flew straight then swooped upwards with all of that white on the trailing edges of the wings......I don't know, but man you might really have something there! Nice video by the way.
@@robertcarte95 You were there, so you would know better than anyone. I just saw it on my screen and noticed the white and the flight pattern. Where did you shoot the video, if I may ask? Looks like Florida, or Louisiana.
Robert, the African Bushman covers himself in elephant dung before going hunting. I don;t think that there are any elephants in South Ga but maybe some hog farmers. Just a suggestion. LOL
Awesome Robert! Great video as always! I’d love to come hunt hogs in Georgia on public land. I’m in VA and have no experience with swamp or hogs, but I’d love to give it a try. I’d love to throw some wild pork in the freezer and it’d be great experience with the tradbow. I have no clue where to start looking, but I’ve got a lot of research to do!
@@robertcarte95 that’s what I was thinking. I took a trip to ky early September last year and had all the bugs, spiders, and heat I could handle lol. I was looking online and the Georgia wildlife resource office said Altamaha had the most hogs. Would recommend that near the coast or something more inland?
@@robertcarte95 oh I was afraid of that. The other places I was looking at was Ocmulgee or flint river. The website said they were pretty good in late season.
@Robert Carter thanks! i love the way u film. Ur more focussed on enjoying yourself hunting and filming when u can. Sometimes people make it too much about the filming and seem detatched from the experience.
I never understood why they dont let people hunt pigs all year on wma. They complain about the terrible population of the pigs but they basically give them a safe haven for 3 months
State game “ preserves?” In Texas are the same in only allowing pig hunting to certain times even for archery. Gene Howe preserve near Canadian Texas has a resident caretaker and highly restricts hunting times. And there are pigs on this 5000 acre property. It’s ridiculous to have just a few days of archery only hunt time. It’s the state’s game department proving again they really don’t want hunters on game preserves for whatever non- factual reasons. The way the state changed the system at this place was a political agenda not with facts and field animal kills true statistics.
@@timbow50 I lived in TX myself and where I live you can't big game hunt the cor land around my area. They always complain about how the pigs do 50 million in damage every year. But guess that cor land I somewhat grew up hunting( doves and ducks ) has pig and you can't even look at em wrong or you will get a ticket.
@@joshjohnson3352 Lake Meredith near Amarillo is federal land and there is no pig hunting allowed ever. The dummy’s in the federal government still have pigs listed as “ domestic livestock “. These are feral pigs not someone’s pigs from the local farm. It’s pathetically ridiculous.
@@timbow50 it's all about the money out there. Tx is the largest state other than Alaska and has I believe at least top 3 in the least amount of public land out of the US. It's all about the dollar out there or who you know. I use to harasse the local game Warden out there. I thought it was the most ridiculous crap I've ever heard that we couldn't hunt pigs out there. They like to complain about the problem but do very little about to it

Great vid, Robert. Don’t forget about the 2 week hog/coyote season that starts tomorrow!
Glad you reminded me. I may get another day or two out.

I think that was one of those white waterbirds.

I’m always impressed with your camera work. Filming while stalking isn’t an easy thing to do.

All South Ga wma' s along Rivers have pigs. I would suggest the first trip be in the winter when the leaves are gone and the weather is not as hot.

I would try more inland. Most of Altamaha has to be hunted by boat.

They are. Good luck!
Thanks RC. What river is that?
Ocmulgee River. Thanks for watching.
The coolest thing I ever saw in the woods was an otter came right past my ground blind headed for the Chattahoochee river.
Great video as always.I’ve been wondering have you ever been charged ?
No Sir!
That’s good really love your instructional videos has helped me alot
Any updates on the ground hunting chair your buddy was making
He has not did much with it. I'm gonna holler at him. If he doesn't plan on coming out with it I'm going to do a how too on building one.
Mr robert, any chance u could tell me what typ of camera set up u are using?
It's a cheap cannon r8000

Same, or worse in Florida. The deer are too small. Hogs have too much pressure & trapping.
