Fantastic video, fantastic day, fantastic hunting! You have mad skills at getting on the hogs! Was one of my best days in the ga swamps and appreciate the talks and education you are always providing. Can't wait to do it again. The way you work that camera is pretty awesome as well. Your videos make us feel like we are right there with ya.
I am glad you are getting better sir. Sounds like you went thru a bout with covid. I too was horsepistolized with covid and pneumonia a little more than a week before Christmas 2023. I didn't know I was sick until I fell in my apt and couldn't get up. But after great effort I crawled to my Honor Alert button and summoned help. It took me 4 hours of crawling on my side and belly to get just across my apt floor from the kitchen to my desk where I had my button. God was good to me and He encouraged me to keep crawling and to not give up. My landlord had just installed a Knox box in one of the hallways. (a Knox box is a key box that is only able to be opened by first responders) I was in the local hospital 8 days and went home on Christmas eve. But, that wasn't the end of it. 3 weeks later I was back in the VA hospital because I couldn't breathe. After 6 days layin in bed with an IV in my arm pumping a diuretic into me, they coaxed 22 pounds of fluid out of my body. I could tell the difference immediately when they got me up and made me prove I was ok walking short distances, and also able to manage the 15 steps up to my apartment. I passed with flying colors and finally made it home. It has been a rough 9 years. Fighting a cancer for 8 years, having my gall bladder removed, then a kidney removal, then the bout with covid and the lung problems has knocked my socks off. I am trying to strengthen my legs and back so I can get out into the woods again. I bought a new takedown bow a year ago but I have yet to shoot it. I was an amateur tournament archer in the 70s but gave it up. I am really a gun hunter who loves archery but I would love to stick a pig and maybe a deer sometime. I have killed deer and like you, I eat what I kill. Except coyotes, wolves and skunks. My favorite hunt though is squirrel and or rabbits. My brush bustin days are past but if I can get my legs back in shape I will be able to get out this coming fall. In the meantime, I have to satisfy my passion for carp and catfishing until hunting season makes me forget the fishing. It has been 9 years since I could get out because of complications caused by my bladder surgeries. But now I am 73 and ain't gittin any younger and am well healed from my surgeries and am no longer afraid I will embarrass myself if I go out in public and have an accident. As they say...a bad day fishin/huntin is better than a good day working, and since I am retired, my work is chasin a mouse track around my computer monitor. I live close to several excellent carp and cat rivers and a couple small lakes. I can't haul as much gear now as I used to but downsizing sounds like a smart idea now. Besides. I don't like to sweat. I am really enjoying your videos and though we don't have palmetto bushes or feral hogs where I live we have a few swamps and forests that have nice easy walking flats and hills. As long as I don't get too rambunctious, I may be able to go do a woods walk this fall. God Bless you and yours. And thank you for keeping me company as I recover.🐖
I enjoy your videos, and I really appreciate your humility and your spirit of thankfulness just to be out in God's good creation. You inspired me to drive down from Virginia and try my hand at hunting hogs on the Ocmulgee WMA last month. I spent two and a half days wandering the creek bottoms and had the time of my life. I even laid eyes on a big boar hog! The swamps are a different world from the mountains where I usually hunt. Keep the videos coming!
@@robertcarte95 I always enjoy the videos. Small game is the only thing that I can hunt with my bow this time of year. So watching you hunting hogs fills that desire to be out there putting meat in the freezer. I also like how you put the time in to provide advice. Especially for the newer people who felt the desire after watching Alone. I truly believe that show brought in a wave of new interest in traditional archery.
God bless you! I sure appreciate you sharing all the lessons about hunting and life. You have a very caring spirit and by you taking the time to share these things, you are helping so many people and that’s what it’s all about. Happy hunting!!
It was awesome just getting that close. I can't imagine also carrying a camera as well. my ground can be really hard to stick anything in. Enjoyed it again as usual, keep em coming my Brother.
Hey Robert, I am down here in Georgia near Claxton and Jesup chasing hogs for a few days. Would really like to meet you if this is anywhere near you if possible. Buy you a coffee. Trying to figure these hogs out brother. Thanks for sharing as always brother.
Thanks for sharing a fun day in the outdoors, a successful hunt doesn't always provide food, but ALWAYS provides knowledge, good scenery, exercise and fresh air, like you said...better than any day on the couch, keep showing the world times behind the string are as good as it gets ✌stay safe and have a blessed evening!
Heck of a job. I could see those pigs squiring out of there. It will take a while to get your legs back. But you sure wont get them back sitting on the couch . Cheers
I love watching your videos man its more about trying to teach what really cant be taught you love the little things about being a woodsman and its a dying thing i thank god it was instilled in me and really has came naturally since i was a small boy i cant really explain it i dont feel like im good at reading the woods i just feel it like i was supposed to see it the way i do! But thats what i love is you are the same way and its s really hard thing to teach or express or show others but you do a really great job at it my friend! Id love to meet up bring my self bow and chase some critters with ya im not too far away
Man, that was exciting, Robert! That hill you were on at the beginning was mighty pretty! I don't know how you get so close to those pigs and manage to kill quite a few, but it's like when I used to watch Fred Bear videos, he made stalking and shooting look easy, and I know it's not. God Bless you!
@@robertcarte95 yup, very lucky! When I first got to Iowa from California in 1991, I had maybe thousands of acres to Deer, rabbit, and squirrel hunt because my Dad grew up in this small town, and his cousins and uncles still lived there so they knew everyone within 10 miles. So I had some incredible places to deer hunt along the maqoqueta river not far from the Mississippi river. ¹

I'm lucky to have a lot of public land near the house to hunt. Thousands of acres. This particular place is 20 miles away. Thanks for watching.

Awesome video brother 🙏 Amen
Thanks Brother!
Great video!
Thanks!
You are my idol to be able to sneak up on pigs in that noisy of ground amazes me you are the ultimate hunter
Thanks. I get lucky sometimes. If there are more than one pig it's not that hard. Just one pig is tough.
Nice!
Thanks for sharing your day with us. You couldn’t ask for a better hunt. Killing one is just an extra blessing.
Good times!!!
