I really love the massive explosions of Gen Evo.
As a spectator it's extremely impactful and eye catching as a player sure it could make it difficult to see but not often you have a game really dialing it up for the spectator side of things.
Playing GenEvo for a while now, I never had the feeling that the explosions are game changing - You get used to them pretty quick and can react almost as exact as in Vanilla ZH.

I've never seen mass technicals in any generals ZH match before. And nice touch that elite technicals can shoot air now. I feel that US needs a T3 upgrade to allow their vehicles to auto repair when idle to simulate the battle drones repair.
one of the best ZH strats back in the day was to spam supply stash as vanilla GLA on every stash and just waypoint your technicals to the enemy stash until you got scorp rockets, went 360wins 80 losses doing this, but hardest to deal with was on my AFG only account i went 42-1 using just king raptor rush; dont underestimate the strength of technical spam
mass technicals is pretty common v USA, if you outspam their rockvees its a solid counter-strategy

I hope we get more infantry types. As an infantry spammer I hope we get more
Outside of Sniper from USA there isn't really a lot of infantry variation in Generals, only basic anti-infantry and anti-armor, unless they create an all new unit for the mod. Other than that, Infantry General is very powerful in this mod.

Maybe the hero units; Colonel Burton, Black Lotus and Jarmen Kell.

Rise of the Reds in Generals Evolution would be awesome coupled with SageMetaTool that makes the game playable at 60fps!

That was an interesting game! I really like how the Alpha Aurora was balanced here, its bomb is painfully slow and can be dodged, but it's deadly, I like that compromise, it creates a fun interaction where one player is dodging and the other is guessing where they are going.
I also liked to see Paladins and Sentry Drones being used, as I've mentioned before I love the unit variety in this version of Generals, though I wonder if the traditional Rockvee comp wouldn't have fared better against what Darkov threw at Cloud, seemed like they needed some anti-infantry there to deal with the RPG troopers, as well as mobility to catch up with the Technicals, both of which the Humvee can provide of course, so it's kind of curious how the answer to what was going on seemed to be "just spam Humvees as if this was regular ol' Generals". Also nice to see US air being used and making enough of a difference to win the game.
What's funny is that this game reminded me of XYHC's Ban Mode for RA3, because we didn't see many Humvees or Quads, the two most meta units for these two factions, so it was as if those units were banned and the players were playing around that, we saw some sorta different stuff in this game as a result.
The Humvees are much harder to micro in GenEvo because of the locomotor mechanics being different in RA3 engine, which is why in this case I choose to use sentry drones instead:)

My guess is a misclick, I'm more concerned about the Alpha Raptors pretty clearly being bugged at the end, the Comanche helicopters also had some very strange movement animations that looked buggy as well.
@@cah11111 the raptor wasn’t bugged, if fired it’s rockets at a buggy as it was taking off, then he kept it lifting off while the buggies tried to shoot at it.

Aurora is the name of the secret american TR3B plane that is based on alien technology. It looks a bit similar too
As someone who watches a lot of Starcraft 2 and found out about Generals Evolution casts a few months back, this feels a lot more familiar than the XvXs.
Im very surprised how this match ended. Twice I thought I knew who would win, but had to change my mind, yet in the end I was still wrong, lol!
Yah it is like that even in the original Generals ZH game. You never know in the end who will win.

How do you make C&C Generals Evolution to run in 60fps ??? (For me it works on 30fps)

RA3 is on Steam and Origin. The mod is available at the link in the description.
This mod looks awesome. Is it multiplayer only or are there ported single player missions or anything like that?
Currently no single player. You can play skirmish, but no missions. They're hoping to add missions in the future, but we'll see.
There are plenty of costume single player mission made by community members of GenEvo if you're interested in single player

Why is this spectator mode is sharper than when playing? is it because its in 4K reso? im playing on 1080p and the game is not sharp enough.

Can somebody clarify this for me: technicals now can shoot air? If so, I understand the 1st part of the game. If not, the airfield should have come in way earlier. (But I really don't know Gen Evo)
Technicals that upgrade (not sure if they pick up scrap in this mod like they do in the original) swap their machine gun for a missile launcher, which can indeed shoot at targets in the air. iirc they could do that in the original Generals as well.

Technicals shooting air units when max-salvaged isn't a ZH feature. It's new to GenEvo although people are not sure to either keep it like this or make it exact same as ZH.

MOAB your own base. I hope it wasn't that old [CH] hack from a decade ago. Your enemy could use your own supports power on you. That was a common hack in Zero Hour.

I could not have been screaming louder at the end for him just to build a stupid Comanche. One Comanche and the game is automatically over. Instead he built a raptor and kept flying it around in the air unarmed. If the rocket buggy had destroyed the airfield before he got that chopper he could have lost.
Something about the visual shader feels off to me, almost like it's in Zelda's Twilight Realm, which feels wrong for a game like this. All the textured cloud shadows moving across the textured dark ground makes it murky and harder to see units.
Still seems like a cool mod though, I certainly like seeing paladins and drones in use!

This video just cements the thought that a Generals Zero Hour Remaster/Definitive Edition would be amazing.
This is why I never play PvP on any RTS game. That technical harass would annoy me so much.

this mod needs some official support. it has some clear advantages over C&C generals (mainly looks) but the old game plays better than this new mod because of missing funtionality and bugs.
america is easy difficulty, china is medium, gla is hardcore
as a solely generals player , i tried evo and the red alert play style of it was pretty cancer to me. i enjoy watching tho

Tunnels have a little issue in GenEvo that they don't repair units when inside (might be fixed in the future) which is the reason they aint used as often as in ZH

I would guess because the creators of the mod see it as the next evolution of Generals. All mods have specific names that aren't necessarily attached to the game they're based on.
this game unbalance. GLA has no Jarmen Kell, angry mob are weak, and no scrap salvage for GLA vehicles. Look their SCUD missile, WTF is that ? Damage are very very poor. One thing, they build, and that worker turn to it? Lol, Great job, good graphic, but 0 balance dude. You just go off killed GLA with their power plant, and SCUD missile is useless.
