Last time we were here Cloud almost pulled off a miracle comeback. I wanna see him play the Airforce General again on this map just to see if he can pull it off the second time. What an entertaining match, my favorite so far.
That match got me hooked on these gen evo games.

Nice teamwork from the blue team. They had the synergy.
Hope at some point they add an Artillery general because there is tank genera, air force general, infantry general but there isn't an artillery general that could bring some very interesting stuff to the game :)

I worked on Shockwave, one of the biggest mods for ZH.... and I thought THAT had bad balance xDDD .
man if shockwave mod merges with gen evo that would be the pinnacle of generals possible!
@@Skilez I can tell Gen Evo took quite a lot of assets/ideas from Shockwave already. Personally I think Gen Evo is too far from ZH - it's too different, and a lot of mechanics are implemented in really janky ways. It's not for me. But it's fun to watch, I guess :) .
@@Chyrosran22 honestly? i will always prefer the generals ZH way of playing. i hate the right sight build menu with a passion. but the old generals engine is just ugly and most importantly unable to keep up with the game/mod.
if i could wish for anything it would be the grafics of gen evo or better with a farther zoomed out camera, the controls of generals ZH with some improvements from games like starcraft in terms of keybinds and stuff and the mechanics and depth of shockwave.
shockwave did really diversify the different factions perfectly. every single general feels different.
gen evo is actually the first mod or rts game for that matter that made me try anything other than shockwave in the genre.
so thanks for your work and im looking forward to see how the story of generals will continue. who knows? maybe we will get a true generals 2 somewhen and hopefully it is not of the shitty kind like the last attempt...
@@Skilez thanks! :) Yeah, the graphics are really outdated now, and the pathfinding especially was horrible, in ZH all your units just form a line and go to their deaths.... Gen Evo looks amazing, but it plays like shit xD . Hopefully one day we get a worthy successor, like you said! :D
@@Chyrosran22 plays like shit is too much for me...its...not as good but its playable. some things are dumb like the construction vehicle's only use is to build another construction yard and the "sphere of influence" you can build in is another one of those nonsense mechanics i dont like.
additionally the aircraft all being vertical launchers is...strange, and i really miss the "guard this area" command especially for aircraft (which for some reason refuses to fire on enemy aircraft...)
but overall, it is playable ;-)

The artillery units look OP... The particle tanks can kite normal tanks, while nuke cannons can kill multiple armored units in one shot... Maybe they should move and shoot slower, or be super expensive?
I believe they were trying to keep balance more akin to ZH, still being fine tuned for that though.

14:44 Too late to matter, but that artillery strike taking advantage of the particle tanks going low-power and immobile was some great seizing of an opportunity as a defiant little end flourish there. It looks like one of the players' arty strikes had just missed beforehand, so also demonstrating the advantage of staying in the game with your CC in a 2v2 after being "defeated".
I guess today's a cloudy day. (winks to cloud lmao)

I feel like the Particle tank's range is kind of OP, especially since they can run and gun, even out ranging the Nuke Cannons which still need to setup to attack.
I mean they are expensive as heck $1400 + 20 power which equates to a 1 upgraded cold fusion reactor ($1200) and 1 un-upgraded ($700) plus they can only attack target at a time
nuke may seem weak since they need to deploy but the AOE attack is valuable + radiation and they only cost 1600

I haven't. The game is running at 30fps the footage is interpolated up to 60fps in the edit.

I think that's a balance issue if some artillery unit can outrange another
The nuke's do more damage though and particles need line of sight(I'm pretty sure, only ever seen em shoot LOS)
I think it was because of the heroic status that gave extra range over the nuke cannon
They (should) have the same range. Heroic status doesn't provide a range bonus. Nuke Cannons can reach slightly further due to the blast radius.
Great job for cloud, the guy using helix vs infantry china is not really clever... infantry china is the best anti-air faction... at least in regular ZH

Is it just me, that felt most of the matches won by the team/player that use the USA faction? It's getting boring with such imbalance.
Now the most OP faction is China cuz of gats and firestorm bugs
