it sounde to me like he struggled to believe it , but was so full of range he tried his best to. the moment he stopped his speech, and spurtet out "goddam you dickie" he sounded so confident, it was like he realized why it didn't feel right.
The performances here are absolutely fantastic. Such a masterclass sequence of emotion, line deliveries, and atmosphere. Be hard pressed to find a show as great as this anymore.
I like how they left the rest of the thought to speak for itself, unsaid. That she wanted him to do better and wouldn't have approved of what he was about to do.
Jeremy Davies and Margo Martindale deserved every bit of the praise they got and then some for their roles in this show. It’s a crime Walton Goggins & Timothy Olyphant didn’t ever win anything as well.
Jeremy Davies really nailed the “sniveling coward” aspect of Dickie Bennet. You know how all those supposed “tough guys” behave in a threatening manner when they have the advantage, or the numbers? …but the second they realize their options are dwindling & they can’t fool their way out of a situation, they break down in tears & beg. No morals, no honor…but no pride, or dignity, neither. I hated how well Dickie Bennet was acted.
You can tell in his face after he told dicky everything Helen did for him, he realized that if he executed him everything she did for raylen would go down the drain. Such good acting
@@andrewross4685 Why is there a question mark then, if the title is directly saying he did it? Again, like the other guy said, its a totally fine way of describing the scene.
Sometimes the writers in this show were awesome, then other times, like this, they were just terrible. How's Ray going to explain knocking a fellow law enforcement out cold? This show was way better than the Reacher series - that TV show has the worst writers in that Reacher would probably be jailed in every episode if it was real life.
I must respectfully disagree. The essence of the man is in the title of the show. Raylan Givens was born into evil, but he made himself be better. He became Justice. He often doesn't follow the letter of the law, but he believes in its spirit. In that context, everything he did was Justified.
"Of course I do. This is who we are, Dicky." That line and the stoic way he delivers it is terrifying.

amen

That was cool.
Amazing how we can still get it when they don’t play to the lowest common denominator.
Well put.
Exactly, so well done.
Exactly. They didn't have to refer to cliche trope of protagonist telling himself he was raised to be better than this.

Arguably the best scene in Justified.
Too hard for me to choose just one. Great show!
One of them.
The writing, acting, camera angles and lighting in this scene were brilliant. This should be a must watch for students learning their craft.
I wished they would put the reruns back on again. I enjoyed watching the show.
If you have Hulu they are on there
I always loved him and Boyd . Its a Must Watch Before You Die series. We need a Movie !!!!!
Looks like Boyd’s coming back for the 2nd season of City Primeval.

I just started watching this show and I am enjoying every minute.
I'm pulling for Dickie to be guesting in another Justified mini-series..of all the characters who could have and "should" of died...
You can tell in his face after he told dicky everything Helen did for him, he realized that if he executed him everything she did for raylen would go down the drain. Such good acting
Dickie has got to be the biggest weasel ever written.
He’s still kinda likable though
*YES!*
"Upham!"
I tell you whut mang dat dang ol deputyusmarshal man, he don't, know what i mean, don't like, mess around nun.
Why the click bait? It does a disservice to the show and character.
that is the exact description of the scene. not much clickbait. the scene plays out as in "is he really going to do it?"
@@LemmyKBrinkwood it obviously implies he did.

@@scoopdyhoop5306 People ignoring punctuation is what caused controversy when Erich von Däniken wrote 'Chariots of the Gods?' in 1969.
It also adds some barrier to spoilers, and it's TH-cam. Clickbait is a part of the algorithm now, unfortunately.
Is that the wokeness?

FAKE
This is evil with a badge.

Only way you think that is if you haven't watched the show.
I bet you go to a lot of protests 🤣🤣🤣
If Raylan was evil, he would have killed Dickie, but he didn't, even though Dickie had it coming. So, your comment is idiotic.
