The original comment is something more like "I'm glad to have been made aware of this original melody.", as in, they probably weren't familiar with this particular source arrangement, and now they are, or various similar interpretations. Also, the entire AKATSUKI album is made up of original non-Touhou related compositions. On top of that, several of the Omake (extra/bonus) CD compositions that they've released over the years have been original or had sources credited that are completely unrelated to Touhou. Personally, I like all of it.
