This video was very encouraging. My son hates book work. He's 7. Every day is a battle to do school work. There's so much social pressure and familial pressure to push him harder in school. But this year, I have really slowed down. It has improved both his retention and both of our attitudes 😂

Boy mama here ×3 I completely agree with my boys it's less is more. They highly dislike the fluff which I tried for so long to push!

Yes! I'm just starting out homeschooling with my 4yo for 'kindy' and a number of my friends are in the same stage but with girls. Boys are sooo different! And my boy is so different and what I'd love to do for our homeschool so I'm really learning a lot right now! Thanks for your insights 🥰 from a fellow Aussie!

Durenda Wilson is amazing. I love her books/wisdom. I made the mistake with my oldest boy to try to push him way too early. I wonder how different his learning journey could have been if I hadn’t. My second daughter is the same way. This video was very encouraging.

Okay I was just stressing while making dinner here because my 1st grader HATES creative writing . But it's also because he is struggling with reading so it makes sense. He does like handwriting, math , art and when I read stories. This was very comforting. Thank you!

Such good practical tips! Thanks! I have three boys so far, my oldest is almost 5. Such a good reminder to wait till they’re ready. Subscribed!

I love this but my boys are very destructive and their way of independent play is destroying things and o would love to know if you experienced Thai and what you may have done about it.
    Mine are 5&7

I don't allow it, I am a child trainer, so when behaviour like this creeps in (it did with my 5th child and fourth boy) I simply trained him not too, you may like the child training series. thesimplemamma.com/category/motherhood/child-training/?doing_wp_cron=1727390290.9989929199218750000000

I am a firm believer in not starting kinder until six. Even then i let them play a lot and do crafts a lot of read alouds. Kinder is all about reading prereading skills and math with confidence and Bible and Catechism. Mostly play. I repeat mostly play. Great video .

Wow, you have people coming to your house every year to check on how you’re homeschooling?! That’s not fun. Props to you!

I left kindergarten not being able to read or write my own name. My step mom took and gave me hooked on phonics. By 6th grade I was reading at a college level.
