Hi Darren, excellent video by the way. The only thing I think might be worth mentioning is only to walk on the flats after it's installed. I made the rookie mistake of walking on the peaks, and every time I dented the peak, my boss would call it a stubbie. There were quite a few weeks when I would owe him a carton of stubbies, but I learned pretty fast. 😉
Hi Metal roofing, in your perfect example you start exactly 60mm from each end. But what would you have done if say you still started out at 100mm from the edge but found that you had an over hang of your last sheet of say 350mm. How would you decide whether to or which part to cut up etc ? equally what is smallest distance from each end you would accept until you'd starting cutting sheets down, if you did what kind of distance would cut them to match, is there a Goldilocks distance from each end based on a standard barge capping over hang.
Hi Metal Roofing Online. Thanks for an excellent video. I will have to replace a kliplock skillion roof (30 years old) that is leaking (rusted) where it starts up under the tiles of the original roof. The kliplock roof supports two rows of solar panels on brackets to align with sun. These rows are in line with the direction of the sheets. My question is I wish to remove the first row of solar panels and brackets and stack them on the roof toward the end of the roof and replace half the kliplock then refit the solar panels and brackets. Then do the same with the second half of the roof. This will save me transporting the panels and brackets down to ground level. Does this seem feasible? Thank you.
Thanks for posting this, this clearly an excellent explanation, I note you have not rolled out insulation which would obviously make it more difficult to install, you should perhaps mention that anyone standing on the sheet should have clean shoes so as not to scratch the roof, I want to install this exact this roofing, do you have to turn up the non gutter end if it just a skillion roof? I also want to use two layers of the Kingspan Air Cell insulation, do you think this is a good idea.
Peter Beyer. Hi Peter, yes that’s a great idea, the more insulation the better. Also clean shoes 👟. I do always prefer to turn the sheets up. 😊regards Daz
nice video. this is exactly what i need to know to replace my corrugated flat roof which has been causing me untold grief. i have a feeling the pitch is less than 5 degrees. what are the pros and cons of trimdek vs kliplok? chur
Mr H. Hi there. The Kliplok is a very strong profile and should not bend or crease unless the support battens have been installed far to far apart. The Trimdek on the other hand will crease quite easily if the person walking on the roof is not careful 😊👍regards Daz
@@metalroofing7210 will the trimdek crease easily by walking on the flat sections? also, i was thinking of using planks of wood to spread my weight out to avoid creasing. do you think this is a good idea (provided the planks don't slip off the roof)?
Yes laying a plank down to walk on is a good idea. Walking in the flat sections of the trim deck roofing in definitely the way to go to avoid damaging the ribs 😀
Hi @Metal Roofing I've got this type of roofing for my house. How do you reduce the metal popping noises when the sun hits it first thing in the morning? Also, is there a way to cover the rib holes at the end?
Hi Ashalim 79, With the expansion and contraction noise you may be experiencing, I recommend using installation blanket underneath the sheets and installation batts in the ceiling space. It slows down the roofing sheets from changing temperature to quickly. Also a couple of ways to cover the rib holes and the end of the sheets are, to make make your own tabs with some flat pieces of steel or we do sell foam infill strips you could try to use 🤙
@@metalroofing7210 Thanks for the confirmation, that what I'm trying to get quotes on now and also got some rubber pipe insulation that I'm planning to cut and shove into the rib holes (that sounds dirty). Hopefully it works.
Hi mate , quick question. I have a 3.8 degree pitched skillion roof. On my house that I'm renovating. The roof has a slight dip/ sag thru the middle (say 25-30mm) will the klip lok system still work with that amount of deviation ? Cheers mate
fix the sag. Take off all the purlins and sister on some straight rafters, then reattach purlins. Or, take off purlins, use string lines and shim each purlin to make it straight.

Anyone that starts off with a skateboard info just goes to show this is the Man
Just realised I've never seen those leather tool bags worn that way round. I always wore mine buckle at the front hahaha

Get your barge capping custom made to make up for any inconsistencies
Excellent question. It's ideal to have 60mm each end covered by flashing but that's not usually realistic

Great tutorial bud, best on you tube. ell done and Thanks 👍
Neat job👍. Do you see any issues with installing solar PV racks?
Thanks for the video. Did you have the bulging issue on the roof after installation?
would you put any thermal blanket under these ?

Great video, can klip lok be installed in Region C (cyclonic) areas?
How do you apply pressure if cladding a wall or very steep pitch..would a rubber mallet suffice?

Hogan. Hi there. The kliplok is slightly dearer and takes a little longer to install, that being said it gives allot better result on a flat roof
can this product be used for framed timber walls?
Hi there. I would not recommend using this product as a wall cladding. A cladding such as standing seam is far better suited to this application 😀
once installed, is there any danger of bending the sheets when walking on them? are some systems more prone to bending than others?

If it was my roof, I'd be fixing the sag!

Do you install in Newcastle mate?
What spacing do you use for the clips? Is there one clip per batten or can you skip some battens?
So how do you take Klip Lok sheets off?
Not an easy process - basically brute force ripping them off the clips. They are designed to stay put once installed.
@@MetalRoofingOnline So if one sheet needs to be replaced, while a brutal process, it is possible? Thanks for top video.
how to relase?
camera angle is not good.
