    Wait, every joke the guys say towards women are sexust and diminishing, but when howard is talking to the students, and the kid makes fun of howards space trip and diminishes it, suddenly thats not sexist and is funny, but is it was howard making that joke towards a female, that would be sexist and diminishing. Good logic

      That's the definition of double standards, isn't it? Not being aware of your own privilege, but condemning others for their perceived ones. Seems like Neuroscientist are not immune to it either. 😉

      That girl's comment was nothing about him being a MAN. Yes, she made fun of him, but did not make any comments about his anatomy or his manliness. Did u hear her saying anything sexual here? If u dont see any difference between how Howard's derogatory comments about female anatomy (even a video game character) and how he percieves women only as sexual objects, and a teenager being just a teenager, u have a problem.

    I don't agree with some of your views and I think you're taking comedies too serious sometimes. None the less I enjoy opinions from different sides and you express them really well.

      Also Nichel Nichols (RIP) inspired not only black women, but women of all races to dream about becoming astronauts. In fact she was going to quit after the first season, because she wanted to return to Broadway, but she had met Martin Luther King at a party. He convinced her how important her character was on TV.

      By todays standards, it's one way, we must recognize what it was at the time. In other words, I agree. TOS is awfully backwards, but it wasn't.

      "DISCLAIMER: I fully understand that TBBT is a comedy show and was intended to be funny, not scientifically accurate or make feminist statements. However, you clicked on a video titled "Neuroscientist Reacts", so I will be giving my thoughts." She literally states at the beginning of the video. One thing about bigotry these days, and why there're so many complaints, is the laziness. It's easier and faster to objectify certain groups.

    to your point about discrimination post doc; one of my daughters got a BA in Oceanography and I noticed that the graduating students were 90% female, but I only saw 1 female professor for that department and she was the dept chair. But it may be academia that's at issue. When I was a grad student in Art History, there was exactly 1 male grad student and he was the only one able to get an outside grant (so again, mostly female grad students) but the professors in that dept were 50% men.

      Hi! Sorry it takes me forever to respond to comments. But don't worry, I'm bad at math too! The statistics can get complicated sometimes but you'll always have access to a calculator or computer to help you out. Most of what I use is algebra based and you there's youtube videos explaining most of the statistics. But keep in mind, I'm responding as a behavioral neuroscientist. Computational neuroscientists use a lot more math and coding! But that still shouldn't turn you off from doing it! It just means you'd have to work a bit harder

    The wage gap was debunked and gender bias in certain fields. Women tend to not get into certain fields. That includes high paying jobs and such. And it’s ridiculous to see you get offended at every little joke. People are such snowflakes these days

      That's because they are forced to prioritise their family or kids by their male partners. Its still the men who benefit

    • @twoshakesofaratsass4748
      @twoshakesofaratsass4748 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Also if a woman is not hired for high positions simply because she is a woman, there is no way other women will apply for those jobs knowing that they won't get in anyway

    • @damonestephens8722
      @damonestephens8722 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@twoshakesofaratsass4748 and like I said a women not getting a job because she’s a women is very rare nowadays. Plus if you as woman are letting other people dictate how you move then maybe you shouldn’t be getting a high position. You should be like I don’t care if other women didn’t get it. I’m going to still push and go for it. That’s how you survive in those high positions. You can’t be pushed around.
