I know Jimi is the all time number one guitar hero but for me there is no one better than Gary Moore. I have saw a few great guitarists live and saw Gary five times live on different tours and each time was different. He could do and play any style on guitar and had me in tears with a few different songs with the emotion he put into his playing. Rock In Peace Gary. Miss you Legend 😔 🎸

Way ahead of his time while doing progressive stuff in Colosseum 2. Absolutely shredded it. Metal stuff was sick and his blues phase was like no other. One of my heroes when I was learning to play. The Lizzy days were awesome as well. Saw him at the living room in providence RI in mid 80s and was left speechless. Sorely missed for sure.

I don't even know what to say. That display of Gary's virtuosity will stand the test of time. I fell in love with Gary's playing in 1990. Like a lot of people, "Still Got the Blues " was my real introduction to his playing. The fact that he didn't tour the States kept him out of my field of vision. I regret that big time and have some catching up to do. I had heard Gary in the 80's but he somehow snuck by me.
I have to say Gary's physical prowess was second to none. It was all in his hands and his heart. I miss badass players playing badass rock n roll.

One and only. There was no one like Gary, and there will never be. The fact that he's nowhere on the best guitar player lists is disgusting. No name people who were not good enough to carry Gary's guitar case are actually ranked while Gary is not. Seems to be especially common with American music "experts."

Funny story about the "Fiesta Red" Strat: the guitar was stolen from the airport, when Gary was travelling to the USA in the mid-80´s for a tour. The thief then found out, that he had stolen Gary Moore´s guitar and returned it to Gary. Turned out the guy was a fan!
The guitar is now owned by Gary´s son, Jack and there´s a video where he´s playing it here on youtube.
P.S. Fender makes a custom shop replica of it,which is absurdly overpriced.
