      Ronny Dahl - Hey Ronny, your editing program should be able to allow you to change that track from stereo to mono. That should do it. If not there's som courseware called *Audacity* and its free. It's a great audio program...

    You can also use the shovel to prepare the 6ft hole for the ones who don't use the garbage bags provided. There is not much worse than pulling in to one of the amazing spots in this amazing country to find some loser has left rubbish everywhere and broken glass for kids to stand on. Good job Ronnie.

    Good man Ronny for including the plastic bags as a bare essential. Taught this saying years ago in school about respect for the environment - "Take only photos, leave only footprints". Cheers

    So I have watched alot of your videos and this comment about first aid made me realize there is a bit of a hole in the info you present. Stop the bleed training can easily save a life for us offroaders. I would love to see a video on first aid kits and use of cat tourniquet or packing, pressure bandage, chest seals and etc. Could easily prevent you from dieing in a rollover or just a vehicle crash. I didnt realize how big a deal it was until more recently. Love the videos.

    A BIG tick for the garbage bag reminder - Bash, Burn and Carry - carry out what you carry in.
    Being two parts tanked is not an excuse to hurl the empty into the scrub - no matter how deep in the bush you are. If ya can't handle ya grog don't drink.
    Sub'ed - and looking for your matter of fact 'straight shooting' good advice.

    I carry two 150L/minute compressors one is a back up, for for obvious reasons, and two snatch straps. One exhaust jack and the Maxtrax mats. All have come in useful.In WA especially Perth, the 4wd tracks are slowly being closed, which means having to travel further and further out of Perth.

    Step 1: Get in a car with an experienced 4WDer, start with sand. Learn from their experience.
    Step 2: Learn the limits of what the car can do, get safely bogged in soft dunes or high up a beach.
    Step 3: Learn how to DIG YOURSELF OUT with a long-handled shovel. Learn to set your tires to an appropriate PSI for the bog.
    Step 4: If you can't get out with a shovel and tire deflators you're in an intermediate situation. Learn to do the basics first.

    Good job mate. Love the pink max trax...
    I like what you said wrt standard tyres. Too many people (sales 'gurus') say that you HAVE to fork out $$$$$ for mtr's. If that is the case how come the emergency services still use cheese cutters for their offroad vehicles? Lol

    Not carrying a shovel because somebody else in the group is carrying one, is ignorant. More shovels makes for a faster recovery and you have back ups if one breaks. Plus it’s fairly minimal, yea it adds up but minimal.

  • @Mattcamel51
    @Mattcamel51 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    If factory tow points aren't good why does arb put on the description of their bull bars "retains factory tow points"? Are recovery points okay if they're on the bull bar? Some people say that will rip the bull bar right off the vehicle. Others say it's not an issue.

    • @Ronny_Dahl
      @Ronny_Dahl  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Matt V (Camel51) Factory tow points are for towing not recoveries. As with recovery points on a bull bar I would strongly advise not to use them, the bolts are made to hold the barwork on and not to withstand massive shock loads i.e. a snatch recovery. If you keep using them (points on the bar work) you will have a high risk of the bull bar flying off becoming a giant destructive projectile...

    At 2:36 you say you can't use a tow ball for recovery but then at 2:51 you say you can use the towball pin ?!!??? The towball pin is 10mm thick (give or take) yet a tow ball thread is like 20 or 30mm......doubt that would ever sheer off. You sure you got that info correct or am I missing something?
    TA

    • @Ronny_Dahl
      @Ronny_Dahl  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes you are missing something. The tow ball is not designed for shock loading people have died from using one during recovery. It becomes a missile and tears anything in its path including people

    • @reddog5753
      @reddog5753 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thats pretty obvious. whatever your vehicles payload capacity is rated at, stay under that number. most 1/2 ton trucks are around 2,000lbs payload cap. jeeps are around 1,200lbs payload cap. it will say on your inside door jam badge what yours is or you can google your vehicles payload cap.

    What if you are towing a camper boat etc?

    • @Ronny_Dahl
      @Ronny_Dahl  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      If towing a boat & camper I would suggest getting used to 4WDing before attempting to drag a boat or camper through rough tracks (you will also need a trailer that can handle rough terrain depending on how serious the tracks are). This shouldnt stop you from getting out there however, you can leave the camper/boat at a "base camp" (i.e. caravan park or areas you know others wont be which is ideal in very remote locations) and then head off without the trailer attached until you gain the confidence and skills.
      Towing a trailer off-road requires good trailer skills!

    Sorry.... had to dislike the video. The volume is so low I almost have to throw my audio system wide open. That's a no go for me. If there is a energy peak my system will give a loud bang.... bad shielding. So can't watch this video but I really want to learn from video's like this but the low audio is just too bad. But I got time. I'm 31 and don't even have a license😅 Never needed a car but the more I watch off road expedition video's the more I want to do the same. So I finally started to save money to get driving lessons and my license and a car. But I start very very cheap.... A Suzuki Samurai😅 It's a cute little off road monster if you put some money in it.
