Great video and even greater script idea! Not only is the story play off of the end credits poem in a really unique way, but it also give you the same message as the game itself: Don't let anything limit your creativity. Move through the world as you see fit. Be yourself.
Thanks so much Ben!! :D Super happy you think it works well!
@@InfernalStudiosMC I bet Key & Peele would have made a better Minecraft movie.
This is what Universal couldn't do, putting actual effort into making a good movie for minecraft, while also connecting it to the game through using the poem ending in minecraft and not by re-using Jumanji's story 😑
“Who are you?”
“Ough.”
Lmao
This story feels like a love story of video games and how they're an escape from the roughness of reality, and in the end, it gives a life lesson to the audience to live life to their fullest.
Sadly enough, Hollywood isn't wise enough to know this sort of stuff.
absolutely
Steve got that thousand yard store
Bro is NOT happy...
STORE?!?! I WANT YARD TOOLS
that’s a big store
Thousand yard steve
Wow, that store must be a whole city.
Additional ideas to consider:
1. Steve meets other people in the dream world, all of which are based off the other default skins Mojang added (Noor, Sunny, Ari, etc). Each person has their own reason for being in the world and is particularly skilled in one or several ways to play the game. Some could be really good fighters, others are great builders, and so on. Steve would learn from each of them and eventually master every facet of the game.
2. Similar to the previous idea. There could be a secondary antagonist that's a metaphor for Minecraft griefers and hackers, who tries and destroy everyone's fun in the world, and kick them out of the dream. They could be a sympathetic villain who uses destruction as an outlet for a particularly bad life in the real world.
3. Extra lore on the Ancient Builders. Maybe the theory that they are the Endermen can be confirmed, but not outright said. Steve could find unique ruins and lore about them, and maybe a scholar who was part of an order that worshipped them (maybe a Rascal?).
4. A sequel involving the wither as the final boss this time, and maybe the inclusion of the illagers as secondary antagonists? Not sure what the plot would be, but I think that could be cool.
Other than that, awesome video! You are very creative, and I love the ideas you brought up. Keep up the great work!
Love this comment! I really wanted to include the other default skins in some capacity but couldn't think of a way to make it work without making them feel half-baked. I really like your ideas though! Perhaps this kind of setup with multiple characters, villains and extra lore would be ideal for a mini-series? :O
Super glad you enjoyed it!
villain could be herobrine
@@InfernalStudiosMC Yeah a limited series with 6 or so 40-minute episodes would be a really cool idea, taking time to really flesh out each of the characters and really take the time to explore the world and its themes. Hopefully the Netflix series is something similar. Thanks for replying!
@@blox_buildz I thought of that when I wrote the idea. Maybe in this story he's a metaphor for Steve's inner demons, compelling him to cause destruction, like a little devil on his shoulder.
I also thought that this hypothetical villain could be an original character for the movie, and maybe be used to advertise it by appearing as a new default skin in the Minecraft launcher.
@@thefarlander2050 Minecraft and Warframe universes are created by the same lore pillars, some things are swapped around between their last 2 dimensions. Overworld and Plains of Eidolon are identical. Nether and Orb Vallis are identical. End and Ancient City Dimension are swapped around in comparsion to what Cambion Drift and Duviri are. Empires fell in the same way in both universes but their loose way of immortality comes from different source but still greedy and looking "blue" and crimson.
Let steve get hit by a bus in the beginning instead of going to sleep lol, minecraft isekai
That time I got hit by a potato truck and reincarnated in a block world.
Jumanji is also an isekai, this too,
But yeah, truck would give it that flavor
@@lainhikaru5657love it
make the blue portal seen in the trailer that leads to the overworld teleport steve right as he hits the ground and make it dissapear after his full body goes in
Feels weird thinking that Jack Black is becoming the male equivalent of Awkwafina. Not a bad person & has a unique, funny voice, but can't VA outside of just casually talking.
I lowkey wish Patton Oswalt was in the movie
Oh my goood that comparison is spot-on, you're so right 😭
Man for what they're going for, Patton Oswalt would be a GREAT fit
Good but not totally accurate comparison. He’s a good voice actor, better than Akwafina. He just isn’t really told to be different.
it more seems to me that he's mistaken for being a secret sauce that every movie ever needs or else it can't be successful. he's definitely got some variation in there, dude had some genuinely downright villainous moments as Bowser
I mean he did play Jesse in story mode
That was not Jack Black who played him @@TheWaffleManiac07
7:15 THE END POEM!
YEAAAH!
The end poem/credits music in the game should also play in the movie.
Hopefully there will be some more bangers made by c418 in the movie
Fund this movie (that isn't being made in this timeline 💔)
At least now an alternative universe exists where people actually get to watch this 🙏
You managed to make a better Minecraft Movie than a Billion dollar Corporation. Kudos my man!
Thanks bro! :D
@@InfernalStudiosMC just telling the truth
Not a fan of the plot, but I think it's wonderful that you actually took the end poem into consideration.
Edit: I think it may also be worth drawing more attention to Alex’s adventurous personality and Steve’s creative nature.
Plus it would be cool to see a narrative motivation for why he wants to fight the dragon. Yes the dragon is part of the main story, but what makes her a worthy antagonist?
Good points! In retrospect I do greatly wish I'd thought a little harder about how to tie The End in. I kind of threw it in there to sort of symbolise Steve facing the end of his time in the game, but it for sure could've been implemented better.
@@IronCat2500 YES that's the main gripes I have with this story. Steve and Alex are perfect protagonists, here, IMO, but Jean just seems to be... a means to have them beat the Ender Dragon just because it's Minecraft. They have no link to her.
This is why I suggested having the Warden be the antagonist, and serving as their own respective dark reflections. It's established early on, it causes Alex's ingame death, promoting Steve to go on a revenge-and-self-growth quest
Sure, it's not as iconic as the Ender Dragon, but it's far more interesting in terms of plot, plus, let's be real : the HORROR potential with the Warden is just unparalleled
@@moemuxhagi that would certainly make more sense, but do you think a Warden fight could capture the true meaning of Minecraft?
@@IronCat2500 maybe not Minecraft, but the meaning of this specific movie ? Yes.
same completly agree
This is probably gonna be better than whats coming. Good work. Excellent casting choice for steve
Thank you very much! Big shout-out to ravenstone for the initial idea, though! :D
Sequel plot: Steve finds himself in the Minecraft world again, only to find a massive theme park filled with mini games. On the balcony of a house, Steve can see an orange cat-like being eating an entire cake at the start of the morning.
"Hellooooo this is Stampy, and welcome to another Minecraft Let'sPlay videoo..."
whyd i think of garfield
I like the combine death sound you used for when he falls asleep lol
HAHA Thank you!
The movie should be a comedy film and it should be about a player having their first world, allow players to die but have them respawn.
The first world i remember had me and my sister building a wooden house on a hill in a forest with wood stairs down to the lake and next to the lake was a cave with a zombie spawner inside which we didnt know what to do about it.
Idk why but I've always imagined Alex looks exactly like jeb irl
Jeb used his own appearance as inspiration when they were adding Alex, I think the wiki says it was something along the lines of him wanting to take any potential backlash the new non-Steve character might receive
@@4d_awesome so Alex is technically gender swapped Jeb.
@@SR-72_DARKSTAR Alex was never stated to be female. Alex is gender neutral name and there are no 100% female characteristics about the model like breasts, but most people assume Alex being more likely woman because the skin looks more like woman then man, and because Steve is already the man of minecraft, so Alex being his counterpart would make sense being opposite, the woman of minecraft.
@@mathewklatil5455 that actually makes sense now, alright thanks homie
sounds like a good plot. I had always thought a minecraft movie should be rotoscoped - with live actors, but animated over to make a uncanny feeling mix directly between real and animated. This plot would totally work with that rotoscoping idea, as it would add to the dream-like version of minecraft.
I think there should be different actors playing the rotoscoped dream world version vs the real world version. Defiantly should be the same voice actor, but the dream world counterparts of alex and steve should feel just a little different than the irl counterparts
I totally think the movie should feel uncanny - but in a good way. In a way that separates it from the game...
kinda like that van gogh movie maybe?
The main issue isnt the fact they chose irl actors, ai generated background... Its the fact the plot line isnt serious at all its like saying the entirety of minecraft is just a "joke" which is insane disrespect to the years that minecraft has been everyones child hood and all the story telling and animations. But they just make it "funny" and a horrible plot line
Real!!
That would be a sweet movie with a good message for audiences of all ages. My only wish is that Alex and Steve don’t have a romantic relationship bc i want to see more platonic male/female friendships in films.
I swear if this movie will appear on youtube I would LOVE to watch it. Leave the original minecraft movie alone
I do like the idea that it's based off the end poem, but I don't think this would work very well as a feature-length film
watchers would already know all the things Steve would have to do to progress, and the only really note worthy moments in the story are the bits in the real world, him meeting alex, and the post credits scene, stretching the rest out into a movie would feel sort of stale, and like just watching minecraft gameplay
I could definitely see this work as a short film, though! That or if it needs to be feature length, it'd definitely need some work
there could be more stuff inbetween. No reason why the second dream should be the last one, he could die and wake up multiple times and build random stuff to make the world better place, not just speedrun the game. He could fall into coma and there would be scenes in the real world with people visiting him, maybe the main plot being that he does not want to return back, and only after death of Alex he decides to return through the End portal, and the End portal being requirement instead of simply dying because he was in coma.
Does someone actually believe that Warner will do something from all the backlash the teaser had?
If anything the most they'd do is minor editing, the movie is like 90% animated, there is no way they'd remake the movie just to appease the fanbase half of their audience
They'll probably just double down in making the movie as bad as possible
@@harbour2118 Double down with the mediocrity? Yup, they're definitely going to flop with the Minecraft movie lmao
Unless this becomes one of those cases when a movie is so bad that it's good, which I highly doubt
At least we can collectively pretend that the movie never existed, and see if the Netflix show is any better
Nope
Of course not, the most that'd happen is outright cancelling the movie, but they're too far gone now.
That's the sunk cost fallicy you know because all the shots are done probably and whatever shots they need to do will get done sooner than you think. I wouldn't say that please don't do anything about it but what if TH-camrs make group to support this or even the kickstarter and then you get what if the game theory screw it's got together and thought about how to polish the story and what if Dan was Steve from game grumps either way I'd love to see it I'm just don't I feel like what you've done is like an hour miniseries it doesn't feel like it's going to last longer than an hour and a half but maybe it could after all you were just reading a synopsis there could be a lot of stuff that was just in words there. I love the story you made.
this is so good and has such an amazing understanding of what makes minecraft minecraft
This is actually so cool, wow, you really did a great job with this!
Thank you so much!!
It could use some notch (heh) ups _(I have provided some changes below),_ but this is a FANTASTIC pitch. It's so emotionnally resonant, original (despite its overdone premise, but hey), and thought-provoking.
I just think the Warden should have been the main antagonist, make it, through its abilities and actions, the physical manifestation of Steve and Alex's insecurities and flaws. Steve feels unfulfilled and lonely, so make the Warden give him the darkness effect to make him feel like Alex, his only human connection, has gone. Make the Warden immune, or even corrupting Alex's contraptions, breaking them or sculking them to turn them against her.
Make them encounter the Warden three times : first, they summon him and run, symbolically showing them deflecting their issues whenever they are confronted to them, only for the Warden to slowly crawl up to the surface, and have them trap it around the middle of the movie, where they are given respite, thinking they've outsmarted the Warden and trapped him, just as they think they can ignore and wall off their issues, only to have it burst out with an invasion of sculk, just how walled off issues fester in the back of your mind only to come back far worse when they eventually escape. Now, can Steve (since Alex has died ingame) defeat him.
Since you're incorporating modern additions like the Warden, I would also suggest having them trap it in the pits of a Trial Chamber, where, just before the encounter, they would uncover an Ancient Core. Have Alex identify it as advanced redstone machinery, and, in the end, enraged, Steve fuses the Core and a Breeze Rod into a Mace, and, using the Elytra, duels the Warden and goes on a suicidal dive, smashing it with the mace and destroying it in one hit, symbolising Steve destroying his loneliness with what else but a redstone weapon, symbol of his best friend and potential lover.
Oh, and, I don't think you should have something as thematically important as Alex visiting Steve IRL be in a mid-credits scene ? I think it would make for a perfect closing shot, instead. The two of them, recognizing the other, smiling, gentle music rises, and cut to black.
The mid or post-credit scene should focus on more of a more fanservice-y bonus, either teasing that sculk is spreading again, maybe through showing the Ancient City portal light up, or show Steve's corpse from his first death at the start of the movie, breathe, and rise, with glowing white eyes.
I think that would make for a MASTERPIECE of a movie.
DUUUDE!! I can't tell you how much I love all this, holy moly!! >:D
@@InfernalStudiosMC YOU KIDDIN' ? *You* wrote *90 %* of the dang thang !
While this is a really good idea for a story which manages to embody the heart and soul of Minecraft, and I DO love it, I think that I would personally enjoy more of a story set in the minecraft universe, like Dungeons, Legends or Story Mode.
That's totally fair! Thank you regardless!
There is a German Book series about a Minecraft village, With Villagers as the main characters. I would like that as an animated movie or series
The minecraft movie ISN'T about Minecraft. It's about minecraft legends... WE GOT SCAMMED
REAL!!
Fr their objective is nether, not The end
Tf wrong with Minecraft legends?
@@Granados07 the problem is they calling it the minecraft movie and useing the minecraft legends plot and world.
i would love to animate this. now all we need is some actors and a producer
This is just much better than what warner bros made.
Why is Steve diabolically packing 3:04
You know why.
I love the idea that Alex is a Mechanic, mainly because it made me think of the Terraria Mechanic since they're both gingers that specialize in mechanics and wiring.
I loved this concept you really are a under rated youtuber i might just subscribe
Thank you dude!! :D
I love this, it not only captures what Minecraft is all about perfectly, but does it in such a beautifully simple way. It would capture the tone of Minecraft a lot better I think too. I don’t see “A Minecraft Movie” having somber piano music, or many quiet moments. From the clip we saw from Minecraft live, and the fact Jack Black will be singing, I’d imagine it’s gonna be a very energetic cheesy standard family film. But this, being a dream, Steve feeling isolated, and focusing on just him and Alex, it DEFINITELY feels more like Minecraft.
Here's the perfect minecraft movie script: "In parkour civilization, no one chooses to jump for the beef."
This is actually very good execution of the “dream world” concept.
I especially like the real world consequences of what he learned within the dream! :D
You know, this is funny because the roles of Alex and Steve are pretty much the complete reversal of that popular Minecraft “anime” animations in TH-cam
Kharri as Steve is the only acceptable choice 😂
TRUE
I actually really like the idea of basing the movie off of the end poem
300% better than what the actual movie will have. and as a thought, ive always imagined a somber, semi horror action film to be a GREAT way to go. the general consensus is that the game feels lonely. and things like how enderman are tall, lanky, teleporting interdimensional being that unhing their jaw as they chase you.. spooky haha. i love the idea of meeting the villagers and them not speaking the language, and how it adds to the sense of loneliness, also if they spoke the '"HMM" language, it would be a good way to get a natural bit of comedy in. but yeah i think just steve and a dog in the world before eventually finding alex and really leaning in to the nightmare that is Sundown, would be awesome! (tho it may make it more niche of a genre, so i know that a company would never do such a thing)
Thanks so much! :D Hell yeah, really capturing that lonesome single-player experience before bringing Alex in is what it's all about 💪 The thought of the HRMM language being used for a touch of comedy is a great idea too!
Exactly, replace Jack Black with a normal looking actor that fit what Steve actually look like
They just need to shave the hair and beard and he’d be good
Nah why is this so much better than the actual movie
This sounds like an amazing movie actually, I’d be more than happy if this was actually the concept they went with
I'm invested in this story
Jack black: i... am steve ❌
Jordan peel: nah i'm steve ✅
steve s actor looks like he had mental breakdown
I've always seem Steve as a black guy, putting a white guy to be him is so weird to me...
He is in the Movie. Jack BLACK
That's actually such a good movie idea i would pay to watch.
steve: Notch
Alex: Jeb
fixed 👍
imo it should be about the actual Minecraft lore and not animated but instead stop motion
PEDRO PASCAL MENTIONED, VIVA CHILE
I just be finding small Minecraft TH-camrs and seeing their come ups
Why is this actually incredible??? Like this could be a genuinely fantastic film if fleshed out as a full script. Not even just, a great Minecraft movie, but a great movie on its own.
Thanks so much dude!! With some of the critiques from this comment section applied, I think I'd agree!
i like the plot, a little cheesy but its alright considering a majority of the audience is quite young. personally prefer pedro pascal as steve, but overall this would work a lot better than the current minecraft movie. although im unsure of how steve knows about the dragon and why he even decides to kill it in the end, since he has already a way out of the world through death.
this is actually GOOD. The idea of minecraft being an escape from reality or even a dream, an experience and just only one of many other and bigger dreams, it just goes so well with the minecraft end poem. Beautiful.
Similar in looks to Amy adams, I think the comedian, Vic Michaelas could make a good Alex
Oooh I like that! I could see it :O I was running real short on alternate actors for her so I appreciate this comment HEHE
The script is amazing, it's so nice of how Steve met Alex and go on adventures together, it reminds me of the old school Minecraft days. Someone should make this into an animated movie cause this is better then the Minecraft movie BY FAR! Good job!
That was fire!!! 🔥 Great job dude! 👏
man oh man, just saw this. I'm like WOW. now this is a love letter to the minecraft community, thanks for sharing your idea, and I'm sorry I'm a bit late to the party on seeing this!
Thank you so much!
This is so much better than the alleged leaked plot from the official movie!
*LIKE THE VIDEO! COMMENT! THE MORE VIEWS THE BIGGER CHANCE THIS MAKES IT TO THE BIG SCREEN!* (sadly, it most likely won't )
Alex should’ve been Key in a ginger wig.
HAHAHA
this is kinda like the plot of minecraft the island and the mountain which funnily enough jack black narrated the audiobook for the island
Hah, funny coincidence! I've never read these books, but it's cool to hear someone else had a similar idea!
this is WONDERFUL. 64/64. full stack. i would watch this
😊Thank you!!!
This idea sounds very good, I would definitely enjoy a film as such. I for myself had a conversation with a friend today about an alternative for the in my view rather crappy official take we’ve got to see so far. We had some other ideas about the plot than those in this video and I was thrilled by the possibilities we’d have for a Minecraft film.
Now after watching this video I am fascinated that this concept which quietly differs from ours still goes along with my idea of the film. This may sound a bit funny but I am of the opinion that this is the reason why this film needed some decent consultants from the Minecraft community who know what’s best for it as historical films often take advise from contemporary witnesses
It was all a dream...
My #1 pick for Steve has been Winston Duke.
Finally, somebody said it! Steve is brown! He is a brown boy, and there is nothing you can do about it! Proof: 1:01
shiver me timbers, he cooked
I feel like anybody who has spend numerous hours in minecraft would have a way better idea for a minecraft movie.
I’m curious why they make the toys like the Lego sets portray Steve as white.
Jack Black's too round.
😃
🔵👍
👖
“I…AM STEVE!”
DreamWorks should animate it
Sounds better than the movie where giving 😢
the move was fantastic and i hope you have a fantastic day
Max Brooks wrote a trilogy of books with the exact same plot (more or less)
Oh sick! I've never read them :0
The only thing I would change is make the irl characters the age demographic for the movie, and have them be adults/better in the dream. Make their irl lives really bad.
tbf, pedro pascal did record season 2 of the last of us so there wouldnt be much time for him to be in the minecraft movie aswell, but seeing that ashley johnson (voice actress of ellie) played petra in mc story mode, it would be better if pedro pascal got cast as steve, there would be so many memes of 2 the last of us actors/voice actors played in minecraft as well
I think Steve is just the sum of every race together honestly lmao
I LOVE THIS
you should have directed this
Literal peak cinema for free
this i would actually be hyped for
I grew up during what i consider the golden age of Minecraft Content, which was also overlapping with Undertale and Fnaf. Minecraft Roleplays would actually be better tbh. Whoever is funding and directing this Minecraft Movie, they would've done better had they hired actual Minecrafters, especially Minecrafters who have mare "Roleplay" Series, people like Newscapepro for example.
OMG there's connections to the end poem in using dreams!!
Near the end of it, "And the game was over and the player woke up from the dream." And the poem often uses dreaming to describe the experiences of the player,
"This player dreamed of sunlight and trees. Of fire and water. It dreamed it created [...]." Was this purposeful??
edit, finished watching the last half of the video, haha ye xd it was
I lowk wanna see this happen. some film studio should collab with a minecraft animation studio and pick this up
I think the movie should revolte around the End poem.
As others have said, this new plot plays off of the poem and the message of the game really well. But another thing I really enjoy - and haven’t seen anyone mention - is how the plot manages to reflect how it FELT to play Minecraft back then - maybe even now. The Minecraft world is extremely isolating and lonely, nobody to talk to; miles and miles of empty un-occupied land; the ones that do have people living there either don’t speak your language or try to kill you.
Yet despite this, it’s still an escapist dream, it’s a fantasy of surviving and adventuring. You build things you could never dream of affording; you experience near-death scenarios and get rewards as exotic as a “golden apple.”
I really like that. Steve is truely alone in this movie until he meets Alex. Then you get to experience Minecraft with small friends, not a giant Hypixel-esque roleplay group who’s pretentious about the game. It makes me feel nostalgic…
Maybe we are steve all along
What if Steve got to an accident leading to a coma?
To be continued....
I absolutely love it
My ideas:
1.) It should be animated like in that one video mojang made about migrating our Mojang accounts to Microsoft. (Mostly because of the
Mouths still moving but not being layered)
2.) The plot could be about how steve, alex and the other default characters got into Minecraft at first place.
3.) It should mostly use c418's music for the ost. (I would love hearing the end poem music in the end credits!)
4.) Herobrine should definitely be the villain, or he can appear in a post credit scene.
The plot:
Steve, alex, and the other default characters were just a friend group of 9 people who loved video games. One day, They came across a multi-dimensional portal
That teleported them into the Minecraft world. They need to find a way out by killing the ender dragon and using its head when defeated can help them escape.
The villagers and the wolf can be the supportive characters.
I think what the movie misses the point about Minecraft isn't the cubes, its the pixels. *The art style!!!*
You can have a realistic movie while keeping the pixel aesthetic. I got this idea from a video about the Minecraft movie.
MAKE IT MAKE THE FILM
Multiplayer dream you say?
*Some sort of war flashbacks*
I think it should focus a lot on building stuff, so instead of steve being a truckdriver for some reason, maybe he would be struggling in architectual university.
No I'm steve
For me the actors would be Rodrigo Santoro and Marina Ruy Barbosa
this is the best take of the movie, great job!
Great script idea, better than the multi-million doller one :D
SO GOOD
TY!!
they should put neko master infernal studios in the mine craft movie
