I skid with my 95 gmc and you have to back up to the tree and give it a big yank! Plus’s tacking the branches off makes a big difference. I skid 80 ft fir trees with it. I do have 4x4 lol.
The fact that the only thing that broke was the exhaust is so funny😂. My obs probably would’ve been ripped in half. Amazing video bro. Doesn’t get much better than this
Hall yeah brother i got an 84 with a brand new 350 in here rotted cab around the front window and a hole in the driver's side floor pan i got a lot of money into but the frame is good front to back
I had a 79 same truck as that. Pulled a few trucks out of the ditch with only 2x4 working. It had Detroit lockers. I only pulled out fords lmfao. Never got suck though.
you can also use full size truck tire in between two chains like a redneck Yankum Rope to get better use of the inertia when you take a run at it and way better on the ole Square Body and 4 too 5 hundred pounds in the bed and maybe drop some tire pressure.
Where you at buddy? I love your attitude and descency! Ive do believe i ever seen anybody more determined to get a tree. Aint not😮hing like a old square body! I have pulled a many of trees with my 88 GMC K2500 Ext Cab. 350 motor and same 4 speed bulldog trans you got and aint nothing like it. Mine is first year they changed body style. A junk yard truck. Wouldnt sell it for nothing!!! I just got bout a month ago a 89 GMC K3500 Ext Cab just like my 88 except 2 headlights. Its got a new 454 with factory also 4 speed bulldog im getting the bugs out of it and got it from same junk yard but its not a junk yard truvk like the 88 is. My buddy has ive been told the largest square body junk yard on Tn and i know he has a bunch. Baling wire will fix your pipe on just a minute and a little spray paint will take care of the scratches. My 88 sure aint pretty but she is tough as pig iron and shes not just a truck she is a tool that sure has saved me cutting trees and moving them and made it a lot easier on me. I loved the video and subscribing!!!
@YonyLeclair7 Your welcome here any day buddy! Please forgive me but where is N- B in Canada? I know Ontario Toronto and British Columbia and others but not sure bout N-B. Here is kinda like where your at without all the snow. Our average each year is bout like 3 or 4 inches but once in a blue moon we get more but not often. I live in a rural county and logging and farming is our main businesses here. Keep your great attitude and you could use a mechanic.
@cameronstamey599 OH ok i realy do preciate it I have been trying to think of what it would be. Ive been to several places in Canada but this one realy had me stumped but since you told me I never thought bout New Brunswick. Thanks a lot buddy!
You should build yourself a little boom in the back of the truck bed and then run the cable or chain off of it down to the log that will actually lift the front of the log up and put weight on the back of the truck so you get more traction
And then if you put a winch back there you could use it as a skidder to pull logs closer look online there are hundreds of trucks and videos of people doing that
Hey ol hon, good lookin ol squarebody. I got a question & I know ur way up yonder but would ur neck of the woods be a good place for a Tennessee hillbilly? Now I was barred from Canada in 04 & I'm considering fixing My problem bc I always wanted to come have a look/see. ...and besides, You damn snow-mexicans have got all the old goddamned square bodies and K10s!! 😂😂
All respect old tree man,, give me some hand tools what Bush Ax, hatchet,, machete, loppers, hand pruners, lim tree out, why the guys are out to lunch, and they'll take the chainsaws, and I'll have them spinning their heads dying to know how I did it backpack is the secret weapon 🔪 whatever I brought that day.
My bad I apologize back to your post however you do it with no four-wheel drive or whatever, I'll tell you a little trick that a lot of people don't do and some do. You know how on a tractor, you lift up the attachment, with the equipment lever on a tractor when you're working, when you hook that log up just get the end of it up in the air, so it don't bite in the ground, enchanted up like that, and you'll be surprised, nothing's easy, how much better. You will take off and get going with momentum,. I like your video truck and equipment,,, keep doing what you love., to put food on your family, belly. And money in the Bank pocket savings account whatever God bless you
