    Fading down isnt for everyone. To me its very efficient if you know how high to go up with your guard lengths. I actually combine fading down and fading up together for my technique. I basically fade down to remove bulk and longer hair in the beginning of my process and then fade up to bring the skin line and half guard all together with the rest of the fade. Best part about combining the two in my opinion is that you end up automatically detailing your fade at the same time you are going through the motions. So it saves a lot of time for me. Love the video!

    I hate leaving two comments, but can you help explain or maybe help make me understand or be able to see the difference between a line and having a blend....I feel like too many times I see a line and I’m not quite able to get it blended and I realize more detail work is needed. Then I see some videos sometimes and I feel I see that line at times too, even though my haircuts aren’t even close to this level. You constantly blow my mind man and I really appreciate and love watching your videos. Learn so much! Hope that makes sense! I guess I’m curious as to when you decide it’s blended enough or is it too much weight or a line? I have faith that of everyone you will be the one who comes up with the best video to explain it! Lol 😎

    I truly enjoy your videos bro. The detail work is bananas. I'm juuuuust coming into my groove after 2 years of practicing on myself, friends & family......so I know the need to feel like, "I gotta get this perfect." May the creator continue to bless you in your craft bro. Peace in Jesus' name! Ephesians 2:8,9- For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

    yo i have ah question bro , since that clipper you have is a wahl senior and wahl clippers dont open to a full 1 like andis masters , do you need the 1.5 andis guard to fade into the 2 ?? , because i have a senior as well with andis master blade and tried blending down but the one guard open didn’t really blend good into the 2 , do i have to buy the 1.5 andis guard in order to blend that better ?? , because yours blended with no problem

  • @reek2hate939
    @reek2hate939 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is he going power with each guard that he uses because this is how I’m fading but I noticed I’d have little small spots left, but my master barber at the shop told me to go
    open, halfway, then closed with each guard.
    He told go in with a
    2 or 1.5 open halfway close then
    1 open halfway close then
    .5 open halfway close and
    no guard open halfway close
    depending how much hair determines the guards I use

    Hey bro! Could you please make a video using a clipper thats more universal such as a cordless senior or cordless magic clip? Not all barbers have custom clippers these days bro ahahah. Thank you!

    • @s.craftblendz730
      @s.craftblendz730  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, honestly the blade I have on the clippers still only open the same amount and the guards are the same size as wahl guards, they’re just magnetic. There’s honestly no difference between them and the regular wahl seniors or magic clips.

  • @knightmayre
    @knightmayre 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    If possible, I'd like to know about how and why you swap the blades out on the clippers. I have a set of 1919s and have just bought the seniors 5* cordless which I zero gapped straight away. But what makes you switch it up again? Cheers from the UK

    • @s.craftblendz730
      @s.craftblendz730  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      🙏🏻 so the only reason I personally change the blades out is because I like the Andis purple magnetic guards. And because I also use the masters sometimes I can use the same guards. I just don’t like to have a bunch of different guards on my station. But I modified my bracket by putting holes in it to screw the master blade into it.

      S.Craft Blendz lol I did this technique this morning on my brother. It came out decent for someone’s who’s only cut hair 4 times. Somehow I still managed to make guidelines but I think that’s cause I don’t have any half guards/zero guards but I’m ordering some soon. Thank u for putting this video out helped a lot🙏🏽

    Precision. How long does a cut like this take you Shannon? I’m struggling with time. My haircuts are coming out better than ever now, but because I cut privately at my own studio it can sometimes take me 1.5-2hrs for someone who wants a bald fade to really get that detail in there, but I want to close that gap and get cuts done within an hour. That’s my goal. Any tips for me man?

    • @s.craftblendz730
      @s.craftblendz730  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you 🙏🏻 usually 45 minutes to an hour depending on how long I detail. But I’ve found over the years that if I’m not careful when we get to talking I’ll turn my clippers off and just talk which can definitely take me over my hour mark. So I make sure that even if we’re talking, no matter how good the conversation is, I keep the clippers on and cutting. Part of the reason I knock out the foundation of the cut first then come back and detail is to cut down on time. But I’ve also found that setting time limits helps you move faster. If you tell yourself that you only have an hour and you literally make yourself stop at that hour, you’ll get more done before the hour.

    • @Yashinka
      @Yashinka 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      S.Craft Blendz wow that’s awesome advice thank you. I also realized sometimes I get “hesitant” to cut too much off so I play it safe, and end up doing double work. Recently I’ve started using the metal blade to establish the foundation of a cut, like for removing bulk, and that has cut down on time for me in some areas which is nice. But not always can I use a metal blade so I’m learning to adjust to other techniques. I like what you said about giving yourself that true hour, and staying disciplined to get it done. My barber school instructors would laugh and say “Jack, don’t take so long on a haircut that by the time you finish the customer needs another one” 🤣

    • @s.craftblendz730
      @s.craftblendz730  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jack Babayev 😂 that’s funny! Yeah but ultimately if the client is happy then it’s ok. Just reassure them that you’re looking for ways to cut down on time while still giving them the best service possible. Some people just want it right regardless of time while others just want it done fast. People don’t come to me for fast, they come to me for quality and I’m ok with that!
