Basic Directions for a 8:2 ratio recipe:
8:2 Ratio - (8 oz Beads / 2 oz fragrance oil) by weight
Turn on your scale, change the unit button until it reads ounces (oz), place your mason jar on the scale, then hit tare (this subtracts the weight of the jar) after you hit tare it will zero (0) out your scale, now remove your jar from the scale.
Place the jar back on the scale remember it should read zero (0) on the scale, slowly pour the beads into the jar, stop pouring when your scale reads 8 oz.
Now you are slowly going to pour 2 oz of uncut fragrance oil into the jar, stop pouring when your scale reads 10 oz total.
Next close the lid tight, and shake vigorously until it's evenly mixed.
Keep shaking the jar every few hours, we leave it around the house for everyone to help shake when they walk by. I recommend shaking twice a day it can take anywhere from 1 to 7 days for the beads to completely absorb all of the oil it varies depending on the fragrance oil.
We let our beads sit in the jar for a minimum 7-10 days. Once the oil is absorbed by the beads it will look dry to the touch and should not stick on the side of the jar.
    Soaking and Curing Time:
Soaking is when you mix the fragrance oil and beads together.
Curing begins after the fragrance oil is completely absorbed and the beads don't stick to the side of the jar or container.
You should let your beads cure for 7-10 days minimum the longer you allow the beads to cure the longer your scent will last. Start counting after your beads are dry not the day you mix the oil with the beads.

Hi. I am looking for some expert help. What happens after 5-6 months and they still aren't drying? Mine are still sticking to the jars, not horribly, but I probably made the mistake of adding DPG in the fragrance. So, now what? Can I still use them to make car freshies if I dry them out on an absorbent towel? What do you recommend? If I can't use them I surely can't throw them away, cost me too much $.
    Thank you for your time.

I would recommend to add a few more beads. Do small amounts at a time and see if that soaks up the excess oils

I am doing a 1oz of FO to 4oz of beads like you are. Mine seem to be taking FOREVER. It’s been one week since I started. They are all sticking to the side, some still have fragrance oil on the sides. I’ve added beads to a couple. Do you have a solution?

some will take longer to set up. Once the beads are not sticking to the glass, then you know they are done and ready for use. Just be patient. it will be worth the wait.
