    9:07 while most contents feature the foreigner's POV on living in PH, its also interesting how hard a Filipina is adjusting to the American culture. It is rare that this is being talked about. Thanks for asking.

    • @i-am-your-conscience
      @i-am-your-conscience 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They often dont even talk about that to their family. Because they dont want that they worry. They all do this for their family. Their families will never know what they are going trough, being in such a cold (in every way) enviroment. They all imagine them living in a paradise of wealth and happiness. Well, no. Do you think so many foreigners are coming because its paradise, forgo the salaries back in their countries? I had some who are living in my (europe) country open up to me about it.
      Also have a look at suicide statistics. Just guess which country is on the very bottom and which countries are on the very top, despite of the income and everything.

    Chad, the amazing interactions also come from your talent of positively approaching people.. :) ..when I hear other foreigners complaining about how the filipinos are to them on their vlogs, they should ask theirselves, if they might be at least part of the problem.
    If one has a good and positive personality, I dont think he will have any bad experiences in this country.

    There some truth to when the Japanese woman said that women has power because if it weren't the phrase Ander de saya would not exist. Compared to Japan which is historically Patriarchal, the Philippines is historically egalitarian in pre colonial times.

    • @marierocher4422
      @marierocher4422 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Under de saya means henpeck husband. Egalitarian means equal. That is right since pre colonial it’s egalitarian with women. Man is the head, the wife is for the family and decisions are equal and sharing. There’s no male domination. It’s cultural and we have bad reactions if men dominates. Respect and discuss. We don’t control but they should not control either, it’s mutual respect.

    • @rl8571
      @rl8571 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Filipina women were very active during world war 2. How many people know that during the Bataan death march, filipina women (mostly kapampangan women) snuck some of the marchers out under their oversized skirts (maybe the term under de saya came from there). They snuck out and saved as many as they can yet history never recognized these kapampangan women for that form of bravery. Our 2 lady presidents grew up in kapampangan culture.
