One of the biggest misconceptions about sobriety, is that after five or ten years, it will plateau. Not true, particularly if the person is actively engaged in recovery. I'll spare you my story, but suffice to say that in my 30th year of continuous recovery, it keeps getting better! All the best to you Krista!

Bless your beautiful Heart. I am on Day 9 on my sober curious journey, after averaging 6 or 7 beers a day. I feel my brain is clearer than ever before. Your insights have re enforced my desire to keep doing what I am doing. Thank you so much!

I don’t really drink at all anymore because I feel really bad for about two days even if I have only one glass of wine or one drink. But a weird thing happened the other night. I went out to dinner with a friend and had a non-alcoholic drink made with alcohol- free spirits. Then later I had a few drags of a cigar but threw away the rest of it. I only stayed out until ten. But the next two days I felt like I was hungover as if I had actually drank. I mean I felt like hell- severely fatigued and bad anxiety & depressed feeling. I can’t figure out what caused it - maybe the alcohol free spirits still had a minor amount of alcohol in it? I’ve gotten extremely sensitive to things as I get older. Perhaps it’s just the energy of being in a bar and being around drunk people that I picked up on and the negative spiritual effects that alcohol holds that effected me? I really can’t figure it out.

Relate to sooo much of what you say in this episode, especially the part about feeling like you're in a 'soup' and getting overwhelmed by all the emotions when in a drinking environment. I've been drinking minimally for a while but I'm thinking about cutting it out completely - just doesn't serve any purpose in my life and have never really enjoyed it!

Wow, This hit home for me. You have highlighted many key facts that I have spoken to myself and have been through. It was really the reinsurance I needed to hear. This episode will be in rotation for me as motivation. Thank you!

Ahh you’re amazing! I really needed this. Ive been trying to get sober off and on for years but it was social norms that kept bringing me back in.

    Beautiful thoughts. Thank you 🤍
P.S: I love your make up. Could you when you have a moment share what you used ? Love from across the ocean. You’ve been helping a lot as I am going through the rawest break up.

I thoroughly enjoyed this content and learned a great deal. I don't drink to excess but i do struggle sometimes. I drink mostly because of terrible sleep disorder & insomnia. I dont have hangovers but some anxiety next day. I'm going to be honest and tell you doing yoga wreaked havoc. At first I felt calm & exhilarated. After a few weeks I was struck with deep, chronic, debilitating anxiety and depression. I couldn't function. Couldn't work or even wash a dish. Turns out I learned that yoga is a Hindu practice that yokes us with gods/goddeses. Demons actually. Once i stopped and turned my life over to Christ..no more mental illness!

OK, these are some good reminders, there’s no question that increasing your mental clarity and boosting your drive, comes with quitting. Yes, there are many ways to kick the habit, Steffon Barkload's Quit Drinking Forever is what worked for me, best shortcut I go’ogled that took days without withdrawal.
