Marietta is one of the most affordable areas with good schools and close to downtown Atlanta . It has the cheapest property taxes compared to other counties . Most IT companies are either located in Sandy springs or in Atlanta . This is about 40 mins away from Sandy springs and 50 mins from downtown Atlanta. Your other alternatives would be driving to Cumming , Lawrenceville , Buford , Woodstock to find the same price point . All of these locations are more than a 1 hour from downtown. But you can tastefully make your home look nice within 100-125K above the base price, which will include the premium for the lot , the elevation you choose , structural options and design options. Different builders do things differently . For example : With Toll Brothers you spend minimum of 75-100K above the base price , but other builders include a lot of things in their base price , so you won’t spend as much at the design center (maybe 30-40k) Were you looking for new construction homes in Marietta or surrounding area ?
