- Marieke and Rolf Penterman are Wisconsin dairy farmers who had a dream: produce a world-class gouda cheese. Beginning in 2006, their award-winning cheeses have brought them to the pinnacle of competition: The World Championship Cheese Contest in Madison, Wis., where more than 3,400 entrants from 27 countries competed in 121 categories. Martha Teichner got a tasting.

Forget chocolate.... I would be in heaven with all these cheeses
Same, but only because I'm lactose intolerant. Lol if i ate any of that cheese i would go to heaven😅
Live not far from Throp; extraordinary family & farm. Their cows are SO well looked after & happy. Which is hard to find these days. Wonderful family. Congrats all the way around!!! Nice job.
On Wisconsin!
Oh, _cheese_ Louise! _Cheddar_ quit while you're ahead, if you know what's _gouda_ for ya! 😁🧀
I wouldn't want to carpool with any these judges.
In brie-fore the gouda cheese jokes are taken.
My stomach cramps watching the judges eat all that. The cheeses look so wonderful tho. I'd have to sneak a taste here or there lol
Wow! Thank you for running that story!
cheese is a blessing
I'll be looking for this cheese now.
My wife's grandmother lives in the area and we visited the farm over Thanksgiving two years ago. Needless to say, we gave a lot of cheesy presents that Christmas
I live in Wisconsin I been to the farm but I live in Milwaukee
I like how they made the sun at the end out of cheese!
Thanks for this story I placed an order today :)
And how was the cheese ? I’m a Dutch guy.
Good for her, and her family. I love gouda, it's the only cheese my Dutch grandmother ate. Now I'm hungry for macaroni and gouda cheese.
There's not a day that I go w/o eating American cheese!! I love this story!!
When your product goes internationally
this is Wallice's Dream come true
"Five awards... hardly cheesy."
LOL
What a great family. Now I want that cheese.

Arizona: Citrus fruit
Texas: Barbecue
Maine: Lobster
Georgia: peaches
Illinois: Hotdogs
New York: Pizza
Nebraska: Corn
Idaho: Potatoes
Washington: Apples

Utah: Jell-O
Florida: oranges
Kansas: wheat
Wyoming: Hamburgers
Nevada: buffets(mostly because of Las Vegas)
New Hampshire: Maple syrup
Oregon: hazelnuts
Ohio: Buckeye nuts
New Mexico: pepper
those are all the ones I can think of for now
Minnesota: Wild rice
Too much to love here.
2:52 Me pretending to be a cheese expert

Nederland heeft sowieso de lekkerste en beste kaas op aarde 😛🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀
Do you have lactose free cheese recipes
Most people with lactose intolerance can eat aged cow cheese because the bacteria ate all the lactose in the cheese. Otherwise goat cheese is an option as well.
It would have been nice if the reporter had done a little research and told about the correct Dutch pronunciation of Gouda compared to the English phonetic pronunciation and how, technically, if it isn’t made in Holland and traded in or near the city of Gouda, it should not be called Gouda cheese unless it is imported from there. She also didn’t report that there is a glut of unbought stored cheese and, because of diminishing demand for milk, family farms are failing, especially in Wisconsin. Fun fact: Some black African cultures that produce animal milk for food consider cheese to be spoiled, uneatable milk.
And their five children run free... but their however many cows don't.
Let's get more of this kind of immigrant.
International
The wonderful inclusion of immigrant gifts to our melting pot society and economy.
bye Loretta! see you in McDonalds next year
I hope no one is lactose intolerant
I am 😪
Then go to eat aged cheese.
Nice cheese, but you can't call it a Gouda cheese when it's not made in Gouda.
Yes you can. European PDOs go against the first amendment.
All men judges. Show me evidence of men having better olfactory sense.
I'll stick to my vegan nut cheese, thank you. ♡
Nut cheese is to me cheese with nuts inside.
Americans have never really mastered real cheese- American cheese and there version of cheddar is a real embarrassment
There is no such thing as "American cheese and there version of cheddar". That's like saying European steaks is horrible and is a real embarrassment (which is true ) Its 2019, don't be a food snob. Anything can make great food no mater what part of the world there from. The fact that you think all cheese in America is "a real embarrassment" go's to show how ignorant you are
That's not what the hardware says.
