In this video we will start with the manufacture of the lenses, going through the acetate and titanium glasses.
The lens factory is known as Yash and is located in India.
The company's sales department receives customer orders with their technical specifications.
The order is placed in the system with all the necessary data, and passed on to the laboratory. The specifications are registered in the system, which calculates the cylindrical curve and the thickness of the lens.
The system generates the call for material withdrawal, indicating where it is available in stock. These prescription lenses are semi-ready and the operator must be careful to find the right ones.
In the lab, the operator checks that the lenses follow the order and that they are not scratched or damaged. Then they are sent to the production line.
A film is applied to the front so that there are no scratches during production.
The lenses undergo a protective treatment on their surface. The blocker is fixed so that it is securely held during the process. Now they are ready to be molded into the desired shape. For this the CNC is used.
The technician scans the order barcode with all its data. Thus, the equipment already searches for the required parameters.
The machine defines the cylindrical curve and the thickness of the glasses lenses. The tip of the drill bit is made of natural diamond, which ensures precision during manufacturing.
Leaving the CNC they need to be polished for a few minutes.
The lenses also undergo laser engraving for their identification. She is almost invisible. This is important so that the factory and stores know its origin.
The blocker, which was placed at the very beginning of the process, is removed. The protective film is also no longer needed.
The quality sector checks the optical parameters of each lens, analyzing if they really follow the thickness, shape, size and standards of the initial order.
The next step is coloring. The operator prepares the lenses to be immersed in bathtubs containing various chemical solutions.
Bathtubs have substances that clean and color them. They also go through a drying system.
Nearing the end, the lenses are treated to be more durable and scratch resistant, helping to ensure clear vision in wind or bad weather.
A yellow mark is made on the front, to serve as a reference in a final quality check. It is verified that its dimensions really match the order placed. After its confirmation, this marking is deleted.
Finally, they are packaged and shipped to customers.
For titanium frames, a thin sheet of titanium is laser cut to the desired eyeglass shape.
The machining center bends and cuts the titanium wire that will make up the temples of the glasses. The platelets are mechanically bent, the bridge is stamped, the glasses are polished. They undergo chemical treatment and are assembled manually.
Let's take this moment and find out how another type of titanium eyewear is made. For rims with rounded edges, the process is a little different.
The titanium wire that will form the eyeglass rim is bent and CNC cut.
Welds are done manually. They still undergo a surface polishing.
And the chemical bath is finally done. Painting is robotic.
Showcase lenses are prepared to accompany the glasses. The brand is tampographed on these same lenses.
A final check is done before being sent to customers.
For acetate eyewear, development starts with the company's design department.
Once the model is defined, the technician cuts an acetate plate with the programmed thickness and size.
The cut plate is placed in the stamping equipment.
The milling machine cuts the acetate plate until it reaches the determined shape.
Acetate rods are made the same way.
    The components undergo a grinding.
    Assembly is still done manually.
