    Blue Mage getting early / mid game White Wind makes Hume the best healer until you get your Doublecasting Summoner Vierra.
    Also, reversing MP has so many tactical applications. I love depleting enemy martials' MP and then switching their MP & HP for a KO to laugh at their three-digit HP figures. Then, recovering MP for your mages, then just healing them back up.
    A lot of Blue Magic doesn't depend on your stats too, so you can just ensure that Marche levels up as a Thief / Ninja, then just equip the Learning support ability when you expect to need it (it is easy to look up or reload when you know what a particular encounter will be).
    At least A-tier for me.

    I think Night alone puts Blue Mage in S. I beat the whole game with that, since you can just disable all enemies on the map, and all you have to do it give your party sleep immunity.

      @@TitaniumLegman tbh with the amount of instant-death abilities in this game offensive stats aren't the worst thing to lose levels in if you're getting consistent 2 speed out of it. I do think the D rating's fair because you have to cheese Steal: Ability/Weapon to get the most out of the class throughout the game which I don't think is a fair representation of what it does in a normal/blind playthrough. If you got the Swordbreaker and Cinquindea by Roda Volcano I'd rate it in B.

    One addition for hunter: the Hunting ability allow you to farm JP very quickly and in turn enable you to spam Totema. Now that's broken and a half!
    At a glance I globally agree with your list but I would shift everything a tier down except for the Viera S ranks and the Sage. Imo they are far above the other S ranks, to the point that when I replay the game I often try to not field any of those just to raise slightly the challenge.

  • @DarkMario277
    @DarkMario277 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Some of my personal thoughts:
    -I've done a few solo runs of this game, and doing one of Animist greatly improved my opinion of it. Having access to a cheap, AoE Sleep ability is extremely powerful, especially since it's very easy to learn and lets you set up KO's for your other powerful units with skills like Beatdown. I'm surprised you didn't mention Frogsong which has a huge 4 panel range and a cheap MP cost. Frog is such a debilitating status that it's more or less a KO in its own right. Chocobo Rush is nice for picking off annoying enemies that like to run away and heal, since the range is huge and it has infinite height. Cuisine is expensive, but it's also full heal in a pinch. Is Animist extremely powerful? Not really, but these factors would put it at least somewhere in the B tier for me imo. Call is a great secondary command for any moogle class if you're not spamming Ultima.
    -Speaking of which, I would personally rate Mog Knight in A, or even S. The class itself is pretty terrible but the fact that you can turn a Gunner into an 8-9 panel nuking machine with Ultima Charge isn't to be underestimated. I suppose it's not fair to rank a class solely because its ability makes another class amazing, but even without a Gunner Ultima Charge is still a one hit delete button. On a similar note, I'd personally bump Hunters up to S because ranged Ultima is just so powerful.
    -I feel like Archers and their statuses are being underrated here. Blind is one of the most crippling status effects in this game, and bosses are actually vulnerable to it. A Blinded unit is borderline useless and it never wears off without being cured, so being able to pretty much incapacitate any enemy is worthy of both of them being in A or very high B tier for me personally. Arm Aim (and to a lesser extent Leg Aim) are also amazing statuses, and Take Aim can help pick off those very annoying, high evasive enemies like Thieves and Fairies.
    - I would personally rate Human Illusionists over Nu Mou for the simple fact that humans have access to Concentrate (same thing goes for Black Mage). Nu Mou can hit harder and have more MP, but from my experience Phantasm Techs have pretty horrible accuracy. Either way I would throw both of them in the D tier, or even E. Their spells are piss weak for their cost, their accuracy without Concentrate is terrible, and their speed growth is horrendous (the worst in the game iirc). This is a class that was definitely saved by FFTA2 (at least for the human version).
    -Warrior, Defender, Templar and Bishop all feel overrated on this list to me. I know you like Bangaa (I think they're fun to use myself) but a lot of Bangaa jobs suffer from being either very slow or having terrible range (sometimes both). Other units, both yours and the enemy's, will run laps around these 4 classes before they really get the chance to do much of anything. Out of these four classes the only abilites I'd ever use from them are Aura from Defender, Haste from Templar, and the Rend abilities from Warrior on bosses. Everything else feels rather lackluster. I'd bump them down a tier or two imo.
    -Lastly, while Morpher is hard to use, I'd bump it up to E tier alongside Beastmaster. Gadgeteer should be the only F tier job imo because its the only class that can be actively detrimental to your team.
    Anyway, these are just my opinions. I guess this long rambling post makes me the "person yelling in the comments" but I thought this was a great video! Love seeing more people talk about FFTA and FFT in general.

    Thief is a better supporting class for unlocking classes early as you can get Steal Ability as soon as you basically start the game and then you combine it with an animist from Moogle to put enemies to sleep and then steal their abilities to unlock classes ASAP. You can get Marche to ninja at level 3 this way. I believe he starts out level 3 if memory serves correct. And ninja gives 2 speed per level which is more than any other class in human. Now, granted thieves only are available on Human and Moogle. But they have utility in early unlocks, so for me personally it raises their use to C even if it’s a very niche use for min maxing the main character. Not that it’s needed it’s just fun to know. If I threw out my own niche use I could see the argument for D.

    • @OrderlyChris
      @OrderlyChris 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Raise it only to C? Stealing is usefull ALL GAME, items stolen can be used by EVERYONE, and you don't even have to be in the thief class to steal just have it set as a secondary skill set. Thief is easily S+

    I'm surprised to see so much appreciation for Bangaa. In my mind, accuracy had always been king in FFTA, and Moogles, Humes, and Viera all get the best accuracy boosting support ability, while Nu-mou at least got an accuracy boost from MP-turbo. Meanwhile, Bangaa don't get anything to fill that role. When are you even going to use the White Monk's exorcism attack when it's accuracy is so low?
    Have I been underestimating the noble Bangaa?

    • @caosisaac
      @caosisaac หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Bangaa honestly make some of the most versatile melee units and are really fun once built. Spears having a range of 2 and piercethrough is great in groups, dragoons can hit a great distance regardless of elevation with jump, and the dragoon/gladiators elemental skills guaruntee no enemy can absorb your damage. Also snagging aura for auto regen + auto lifr makes them essentially immortal. They had to have low accuracy to balance out all their other insane abilities.

    Alchemist with sage secondary. All the most damaging and unique magical abilities of sages plus an extra slot for items.
    Assassin and sniper secondary. That should be sufficient enough explanation
    Summoner/ white mage secondary. Ability to double cast summons or big heals or heal/support combos is fantastic

    I want to give my honest opinion, this list is very good, actually I enjoyed it, however I do disagree on many things, first, Alchemist while they're pretty amazing with their tools, their HP and Speed makes them easy targets to kill by either Hunters, Gunners, Snipers and Assasins with greatbows, they're so fragile that with good equipment can die with three, maximum two hits, reason why I do consider the Sage the best class of the Nu Moes, pretty strong, they're resilient and with Reflex makes them impossible to kill with only physical attacks. Blue Mages are brutal if they have all their skills, which requires time and patience but it's worth it since Monsters have broken abilities, specially Fairies, Undead and Dragons, Got all skills back then and man they're good and with the strongest sabers they're quite formidable. Dragoons are far more dangerous than Gladiators, specially with Elem. Breaths and Bangaa Cry since they're cone attacks, Jump is a scary Ability and is available early in the game, also spears makes them good to bypass counters (not countin spears) and just havin' Dragonheart makes them almost unbeatable, they're durable as hell and havin' gladiator skills compounds their already aggressiveness as an offensive unit, all these things makes them arguably the best offensive oriented job since they do not require MP to use it's abilities. Red Mages are so good but the problem is that Madu (the weapon that allows them to use doublecast) is found later in the game and also requires 999 AP to fully master it, so patience is they key on this class. Summoners are by far the most dangerous magic oriented class, compound them with Doublecast and you can easily break the game, and because doublecast bypasses the lawcards since it's not considered as magic, but a support skills, this make them an unstoppable force, and with the proper buffs they can decimate everyone on site specially classes with Low Magic Resistance, Assassins are the most busted class in the game and this happens if they have the concentrate ability,, Concentrate is even more busted than doublecast because the accuracy increases their precision by 50, and accuracy like you said it's everythin' in this game, 50 damnit, Assassins can kill everyone with last breath and normal attacks and allowin' them to use greatbows is nasty, Powerin' them up with the best greatbow with sniper abilities, you're just death there's nothin' you can do, really. I Hack in an emulator to see the real power of the Morpher and...Yeah they can become the best class by miles ahead of everyone, but I leave that explanation for another occasion if you're curious. I really want to see to re-release this game alongside with FFTA2 and to develop a third one with master classes or somehin' more original and romance options, they deserve a chance.

    This was my first tactical game I ever played. I remember playing it around christmas, and the intro totally helps with it.
    I can totally understand the hate the game got from former FFT fans. But it's that generational thing with Nintendo that games don't grow up with the audience, so coming to this from the earlier FFT game might feel really shallow.
    However considering though that the main audience of the GBA was 8-12 years old and most likely didn't play fft, I think it was the right choice for the game. Knight of Lodis holds up for the bit older audience.
    Anyways a very nice callback to pre-christmas time for me.

    Gunner makes all other moogle jobs (barring Time Mage and Juggler) irrelevant. Stopshot and Accuracy+ is already cracked as hell, *and* they can use Mog Knight's melee attacks at range. 9-range Ultima Charge is nothing to sneeze at. Or you can pair it with Time Mage or Animist abilities for a more support-oriented Gunner.
    Juggler/Animist with Thief speed and Accuracy+ is funny too.

    Like wutttt
    Yeah, those ninjutsu are like very basic supporting Magicka, but since it initially costs 4 MP, Turbo MPing it basically makes it a medium level magick with instant ailments

    I think Fighter & Paladin should swap. Fighter weapons & skills fall behind by end-game, while Paladins get OP Knightswords & Holy Blade. My Paladin-Blue Mage could solo battles and was virtually immortal
    Morpher is so broken, I don’t use it. Just raise 3 Flans and a Malboro and you can basically cook every map in the game

    animist devils advocate here, I know the that the class is not perfect but sheep count is a super early AoE CC, can insta-win alot of encounter before start just by moogle spd stat, cousine is a full heal and the sinergy with juggler is realy strong, I know is not fair to put alot of a class merit in a single skill more if is a skill with alot of chesse factor but is not really close of a D tier even not carring about how early you can do stuff bcs theres is alot of good skill that are lock by time and/or farm.

    Kinda disagree about Mog Knights, they have a really good technique list and access to some of the best equipment in the game, with really solid stats. More of a B tier or A tier class imo, I’ve never regretted training and fielding a Mog Knight. They are like a tankier fighter with more utility

    I was always pissed they removed Dark Knight and Samurai in FFTA. Also while thief was kinda weak class, as a utility it was good. In the second playthrough, I used thief and archer to steal a ton of equipment so I maybe biased but I believe it should atleast be in C and including the knowledge of first playthrough and wiki atleast B

    5:10 Early in the vid but i really gotta disagree with that. It requires set up and knowledge about the game, but thief is the main enabler for a lot of the game breaking early game stuff. Steal skill, and other steals can be used to craft insanely strong chars with little grinding very early on

    Hey man, I won't dispute most of your tier because it is subjective, BUT the thief is overpowered with stealing. This makes thief easily S+. Steal Ability, Weapon, Armor, Accessory. You can pimp out your crew so early on. Every play through I make my moogles and humes all go thief early on. Yeah they aren't combat masters or a end game class but they break the game. 300 AP to learn to an ability or just steal it for free and not just one. You can clean out the NPC of all its abilities and items before you kill them. All you need is sleep to set up 100% sucess rate. Thief in D tier is cringe.

    Thief should be S tier as you can life hack yourself a ton of exp by having 1 high level thief, and other low level units bonking that thief. Then have the thief steal their exp to gain higher level. Repeat this about 50 -100 times , you will get max level 50 thief. Then you can have other low level units farming exp by bonking and healing the thief.

  • @AnemoneMeer

    Hard hard hard disagree on Morpher.
    While Curealls are indeed a pain to get before lategame, Morpher doesn't require nearly as much effort as you'd think, because you don't actually need to make use of every monster. You can pretty much just use Lamia Morph and possibly Flan Morph and call it there. Lamia Morph gives you access to Night, Hand Slap, Twister, Poison Frog and Kiss. Illusionist But Sleep is really REALLY effective at the start of combat, Hand Slap is utterly crippling given to my knowledge no enemy really resists it and delaying turns is extremely powerful in any situation where you have equal or better action economy. Kiss and Poison Frog are instant win effects if the enemy doesn't resist that specific status combo, and Toad resist is really rare outside of enemies who resist everything. And they're free.
    Flan just gives you all the black mage elemental spells. Far more of a grind to max 3 flans than 2 lamiae but if you just want direct damage on Morpher, this is where you get it.
    Additionally, Morpher requires extremely little commitment to be good. Since you can generally get away with only mastering 1-2 skills on Morpher, you can optimize around another class and leave Morpher as your secondary skillset. Time Mage/Morpher is a brutal duo as you start combat out with the usual Time Mage buffs, switch into your morph of choice (probably Lamia or Flan if Lamia isn't an option for that fight), and do your thing now that Time Mage's buffing isn't needed.

    • @AnemoneMeer
      @AnemoneMeer หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@caosisaac Aye. Dragon Morph is good too, but I generally consider it less important than Lamia or Flan, because those two generally cover everything you want a Nu Mou to do. Lamia has all the best status tools, and Flan is Black Mage. Dragon morph is amazing, but a bit less universally applicable to every team under the sun. I suppose the same can be said about Night abuse though.

    • @screwtokaiba
      @screwtokaiba หลายเดือนก่อน

      Morph is arguably the best job to min max on Nu Mou to fwiw since it had the highest speed growth of all Nu Mous
      Yeah i think outside them needing 1 turn of set up Morphers kinda cracked.

      Seriously. It doesnt have the political intrigue of the first game; but you are playing a game where you have to deny your friends greatest wishes and destroy this world that both you and they all love; not to mention the lives of all your guild mates that may or may not exist in the real world. Underneath the 'kiddie' aesthetic its honestly one of the darkest ff games in the franchise. To literally everyone else in the world you are the villain.
