Love the product reviews, I bought one of these a few years back and I love the convenience of it, it lives behind the seat in my pick up and it's so easy to fit for those roadside repairs that pop up, they also have a bracket that fits over the hitch section that you can bolt on a work bench or any solid mounting spot. I have a nudge bar that I made a 2'' hitch point for so I can use it on the front of the vehicle as well.

First and Foremost, Awesome T-Shirt👊 The VA and the USA government needs to help those who gave their services in every way a lot more than they do. Wilton is a reputable vice Mfg. My dad had one on his workbench in the basement and it couldn't be beat, I mean we tortured it and it held up. Very cool design, that should give you years of service without any issues👍

I've had this vise for about 5 years on the back of a work truck and it still works after the abuse. Wilton has separate bench mount clips and thats what i got to put on the bumper instead. Pretty sloppy but i shimmer it so its nice and tight. One time the truck was backed up and the vise hit a wall pretty hard and eventually the mechanism detached from the thread that turns it to open and close. I took it apart and drilled a 1/2" diameter nut to a 5/8" hole and welded it then welded a 3/4" x 1/2" drive socket to that and use a breaker bar as a handle or even an impact at times on slow speed lol. The threaded rod is bent some but it still works and been like that for like 2 years. Exact Replacement jaws were hard to find as well and i ended up getting irwin 5" jaws and the holes didnt match up so i drill and tapped 2 new holes although 1 was insanely close to the old hole but off so it didnt work well. Welded the sides of the jaws. Also the carry handle is a nice spot to vise grip things to it that is too big or something for a vise. I like the vise alot and would recommend and its convenient cuz i can take it home from work and throw in the hitch of my truck. O and the breaker bar handle provides great leverage and i actually prefer it lol

On the other hand, I bought a 4 inch Wilton mechanic’s vise five years ago. Biggest POS vise I’ve ever owned. A year into using it I tightened down on it with just my hands and stretched the threads in the thread box. Sucks because the hardware store where I bough it went out of business. No prospect of refund, exchange or adjustment on a new one.

That was a SnapOn I bought 20 years ago. Probably paid too much but it’s a great wrench.

I learned something (and im smart ass) so kudos Wes thanks man I didn't know these existed and it looks pretty good quality aswel, the ratchet is pretty neat aswel I wonder if they did that to stop the bar jumping about when your driving around, probably, I think you will get a lot of use out of that little beast..

Keep the adapter and vise tube lubed with lanolin or grease. A small amount of rust in between will drive you nuts. Sounds like sex advice too.

I'd want to shim it so it's not wobbling while I work.

You should put receiver tube on the bumper. Your backs going to be killing you bending over that low to use it.

Bend at the knees, not at the back. Words to live by and you won't have back issues, just knee issues 😂.
