- While clearing several streets around the airport, the team of Bong Nebrija came across a service road which has long been converted into paid parking by the Barangay.
The problem is that after all the allocated slots had been filled, many people had also parked on the sidewalks and corners of the road. Those drivers were ticketed or towed, for illegal parking. - บันเทิง
DILG should file a case to the barangay officials

Corruption is rampant even in the barangay level. Very sad
Here is what Filipinos need to accept and change. They reason a lot of things are corrupt is because the people themselves are corrupt and allow it as long as it benefits them. BUT the minute corruption doesn't work in their favor, they whine, complain, gossip and throw tantrum saying there is to much corruption. Example, the same people that complain about the "corrupt mayor" are the same ones that keep voting for him and selling their vote for money when one of his " promoters" comes by and gives money for an agreement to vote for him. If people want to stop real corruption, They need to be disciplined and stand to get rid of it , even if it might benefit them. Do the right think and Make a sacrifice for the common good and not just when it benefits you :-)

Probably more so in the lower levels like barangay or even Neighborhood Associations. If we talk about just tens (maybe even a couple hundreds) of Pesos, regular people like us think it's nothing so we just let them be.

metro manila is not designed to handle that much parked vehicles. maybe if the gov't put up a parking building on each corner with a minimum parking fee per month, we'll be able to solve the parking problem.

They should also tow away the PUJ and Taxi, TNVS parked in that area as it was a public parking. Their franchise specified that it should be inside the garage when not in operation.

Go break that bad habit of baranggay officials making rules on their own - go break them Colonel, we support you. Obviously that old lady was intimidated by those baranggay official and believed that its legal to park there because the official said so.

they didnt confront the Brgy Officials in NAIA RD? they are collecting money, reserving parking for BRGY officials.. maybe its out of their jurisdiction. for future operations maybe they can ask DILG to come and cooperate with them so that they can talk to the BRGY officials in their future operations around Metro Manila. i just expected more on the 1st part of the video.
Like you say, they have no authority over the barangay, that's why they report this kind of thing to the DILG.
They actually asked the DILG director to attend an incident around one week ago, because they knew he's in the area.
It was another barangay car wash on the sidewalk. But the reality is, it seems like there's not much they can do on the street level. It's all administrative in the office.
At least that was my interpretation of what happened.

And it went national as well saw it in TV. so basically if it's an administrative sector would take weeks, month or even years to have an action. the ticketing of the brgy for sure is unregulated and the money generated on that who knows where it's going. 🙈🙊

Sir Bong, please do visit Brgy Damayan Lagi in QC, along E. Rodriguez Sr Avenue, the side road going to Cubao is loaded with OBSTRUCTIONS - illegal parking of motor vehicles, sidewalk vendors, counterflowing motorcycles and bikes, you name it - the bike lane became a parking area. The traffic there is getting WORSE EACH DAY!

Please let MMDA know that Chino Roces Extension also need to be cleared.

Get rid of illegal terminals, nagiging butasan NILA yan o palabigasan kaya Hindi hinuhuli. Generally cause if trapik in NCR, usually Doon cila malapit sa kanto. Pwede ba e charge enforcers and other similar agency task for peace & orders for not doing their jobs.

President Duterte already issued a memorandum on his term that all BARANGAY OFFICIALS should all clean their respective constituents place, and illegal parking should be addressed immediately, especially on MABUHAY LANES.. what happened on that memorandum or EXECUTIVE ORDER for the DILG to implement...

Dapat c sir nebrija ang kumausap sa brgy kasi parehas cla government employees. Ang sibilyan ay sumunod lang nman kung ano sabihin ng brgy. kasi cla ang may authority. That much of cars/owner parked thought they are legal.
Kelangan talaga lagyan ng kaayusan dyan sa paligid ng airport. Nakakahiya sa mga turista pagbaba ng airport puro dugyot na nakikita sa paligid. Dami pa bata natutulog at naghihingi sa gitna ng mga kalsada. Salamat sa MMDA pro madami pa kelangan gawin. Malayong malayo na talaga tayo sa katabing bansa natin. Nakakalungkot.

Barangay officials rarely get charge with anything and that is why there will be no social change in the near future.

Dapat ang barangay ang nagsisilbi. Kaso, dito, hindi ginagawa ang tungkulin nila sa kalsada rito. Daming illegally parked vehicles sa kalye. May No Parking Sign na, wala pa ring ginagawa sa mga vehicles na nakaparada sa side na may no parking this side na sign. Ang tagal na. Hindi na talaga magagawan ng paraan. Nakakalungkot.

TBH, the last time I visited relatives in the Philippines. I was in the impression that anyone could park anything they wanted. Drive any way they wanted. That was what it looked it. I just thought that’s what the norm is.
