    Ironically, a little flex is good in a solid axle go kart. Set up right, the go-kart is meant to twist and lift the inside drive wheel when it takes a turn and weight shifts to the outside.
    But obviously that doesn't matter now because it has a differential.

    • @MattDenton
      @MattDenton  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah I think it's called jacking? But hopefully won't need it now 👍

    Using the old-school Technic 1/2 bushings with the teeth. Nice! I miss those 90s-era Technic details. I mean, I have hundreds of them in my collection, just that LEGO stopped production long ago on all those toothed LEGO connectors of the era that were so great for making rigid structures at specific angles.

    probably somebody else already suggest, but you might try to attach the main beam on a 4 pin size in stead of 2, with a setup of PIN-empty-black axle-PIN.
    in this way the beam will greatly increase as you reduce the flex momentum in the center.

    Looks great Matt! My electric kart had a no load speed of 32 mph, but never went above 21. But it was only one motor and a steel chassis. I also have the tractor diff, which added 4 or 5 lbs to the rear axle.

      That must have been pretty heavy!

      @@MattDenton that and the motor/ESC aren't great. It is the 1800W combo from Amazon with 32A ESC. Thinking about getting the 3000W ebike one from eBay. The chassis can definitely do higher speeds. Can also do differential braking with disc brakes on either side of the diff and two levers

    a conveyor belt printer would be perfect for these blocks. you could make one as long as you want if you have the end supported.

    Now what if you connected each pedal to one motor? Essentially create tank drive for the rear axle. Could turn on a dime then, and just put a brake on the wheel

    Hi Matt, I love your Videos! That's really engineering.
    Regarding the two motors ... I would go for a central differential. Just that the power is centrally provided. You can achieve that with your axle like it is. Take a look at 1:12 or 1:10 RC PanCars. And you can try to use both motors (or three?) with that drive then ;)
    Or you could add a G-Sensor and add some code to let them speed separately. Could be also a nice option ;)
    Keep on going! I really enjoy that. Hope your next Project is a collaboration with Ivan as I also love to see his channel ;)
