I'm not in the market to need one of these but top marks on the case design, love the interlocking section and pin.... So elegant. If I were to make one, I'd probably want it smaller but appreciate that makes things fiddly and would require either custom PCBs or at least hand soldering. Thanks for sharing
Nice project! I’d like to make something similar using an ESP32 with LD2420, BH1750, and BME280. Maybe a simple CPB to bring it all together. BTW, a link to your YAML would be helpful for others trying to replicate this. Maybe a GH repo…?
Check the Printables page bud, I’m testing an 2410C right now with other boards and sensors coming in the next few weeks. YAML is in the other files section on Printables too 😉
Also the issue with building all the components onto a single PCB is isolating the sensors, specifically the temp sensor, for the ESPs heat dissipation. There are several design features in Leela that isolate the temp sensor from that issue, took a lot of testing!
This looks awesome! I was trying to find a case for the sensors I liked, and I think this just nailed it 😁 I saw you are working on a version for the LD2410C, do you think there will be one for the HLK-LD2450?
Thanks bud! I've had to put Leela on the back burner for a month or so as I had another product go a bit viral (Bender!) I will be coming back to Leela because I poured so much time into her. There are issues around the 2410C, namely it throws off a lot of heat which the existing mounts are transferring to the chassis which is effecting temp readings. I will be able to mitigate that with design changes I'm sure. As for the 2450, yes I'll likely get to it at some point!
Thanks, if you print one do drop a make on Printables, any issues just leave a comment. I'm adding LD2410C mmWave Presence sensor support in the next few days, its awesome!
is there an option to also add microphone and a little speaker to also add the voice assistant project of ESPHome? that would be awesome, then it is basically the swiss army knife of usefullness.
It's been suggested I need to look into it! Leela is on the back burner at the moment sadly while I deal with another product that blew up. I've built a print farm though so maybe you'll be able to buy a Leela in future!
Yes you're right, I've considered it, but it's more hardware needed which I'm trying to avoid to keep cost down. You could go as far as making a board with JST connectors and cables for all the sensors but it's just more complexity/cost. If you use good Silicone Dupont wires its easy to connect everything up :-)
The DuPont cables are a 20-30min job to create which means it’s a little too labour intensive to build as a commercial product. It’ll remain a hobbyist project for a while!
Man kudos that's so great! Personally I was leaning more on a mmwave sensor+temp+humidity combo but given the price and ease to build I might try this and evolve in the future. How are tolerances for printing?
Thanks! There is a beta version of the files on Printables that includes support for the 2410C mmWave. However it seems to product a lot of heat and I need to revise the design to deal with that. My other project has blown up online though and is taking all my time, I will come back to Leela though!!!

Amazing design. Excited to see what other sensor combos you come up with.
Looks well thought out and well engineered.
Thanks! I poured a ton of time into it yet ironically its my other project which has exploded and took a fraction of the time to design :-)

YAML for this is simple, just add basic ESPhome yaml and add both sensors under sensors and I2C under I2C section
@@zerofox3d love the case! I would love to see one for 2410c esp32 bh1750 and bme680 thanks again case is very slick
@@MarkGhali Thanks! Check the 1.1 Beta video, it has everything you want except bme680 which will come at some point!
Great design skills you have man ! Thanks for sharing this with us 🙏🏼
Wonderful design, so clever

Very nice design!! & video
Great Video, and what a well designed case
Thanks Phil, hopefully it can become something useful to many people 🤞

I’m confused. Where does the duct tape go?
That comment flew way over my head and into the distance sorry! Duct tape?!?
Cool and all. But m8, where is the github-page for the esphome code?
The YAML for all the supported sensors is included in the files
another option is to use create a multi-ground using small perfboard and male headers.

@@zerofox3d small petfboarf 3x5holes is more than enough for this
Great case but I hope you will sell it all as a package.

need to add LD2410b or LD2410C or LD2420 in this design to complete it.
I am currently testing the 2410C, update to support it will be available in the next week!
