This may be a good contender for my next bike. I love the sport look but I don't wanna commit as a daily driver. I'm looking at the NInja 1000SX, GSx-8R and CRB650R
Make sure you get the plus. I love the Suzuki blue colour, however, I have seen a red one, with the red bags. Lovely, lovely bike. I'm a naked guy, I find myself looking at these.......
I bought the 24 gsx 8r last year as my first real bike and I love it, I commuted from jackson to lake Orion everyday and it was a very comfortable ride
@@somiehomie8 Yes, the 8R is getting great reviews. However the 8R is a twin cylinder. When I was looking for a bike a couple of years ago, I really wanted the Suzuki GSXS100 GT but the dealer was having a problem finding one. I was about to settle on the Ninja 1000SX but the dealership found the Suzuki for me. Can't tell you how pleased I am with this bike.
Have this bike, love this bike. Ive added a luxury seat to raise my seat height. Raised the bars and got a touring windscreen. Ill bring it over to you one of these days Greg
Current own one. Could not agree more. I own the + version and have taken many trips. Will be replacing the stock seat at some point. Ok for a few hours, but gets pretty sore after that. Best compliment I have is the power. SO much power when you need it.
Nice work Mate - this year i reviewed this and the Ninja 1000SX. I preferred the character of the Suzuki, but the brakes (for me) had no feel, and it lacked the lean sensitive IMU that the Ninja had. Both amazing Motos though and for old guys like me this classic fully fared sport touring category speaks to me. Bike like this just make me feel more engaged wit the Moto in a way that tall rounders don't.
I own a GT+, and I was surprised with the lack of aftermarket support. It is a great bike, and the best value on the market for sport touring. I was able to get a deal on a new 2024 model for $12k out the door, so hard to find a better bike but there are a couple of drawbacks, such as no adjustable windscreen, mediocre brakes, and poor tires from factory. But the reliability and features it has really makes up for it all imo.
6:52 - I dunno, A and C modes were a lot different to me. C was too soft, and A was way too abrupt to add power off neutral throttle. Most reviewers say just leave it in B.
The Kawasaki 1000SX is a much better value, smoother, and delivers an overall improved rider experience…. And I’m not a TOTAL Kawasaki fanboy… 😮 I mean, sure, I have a Kwak tattoo, but I can be unbiased!
i was looking at one but from reading forums, up to 2017 models apparently like to eat their 4th gear so i stayed away from it probably a great bike except for the 4th gear issues wich is a pretty bad fail and expensive fix if out of warranty
I disagree, the SX felt softer to me and it is with 10 less HP and more weight. Buy the SX if you want a more touring focus, you get the GT if you want a sportier focus. Guys are putting Brembo radial masters on and adding their own shocks for about $1500 total. That's your brakes fixed and a remote preload adjuster putting it on par with the Kawis components all for less money. The experienced group that these bikes are aimed at don't really need or even care for an IMU. In the end, the Kawi is also a fantastic machine and it all will depend on what you're after.
Rode from eastern idaho to ft. bragg on cali. coast. in the end, rode 2500 miles. all in all excellent, but as you say, 1st inch or so of front brake travel , there's nothing. My Z900 Nissins bit a lot harder. Power wise, the Z seems stronger everywhere. Gonna have ecu flashed. Surges anything under 4k. Side cases are excellent. Handling is excellent. Diced it up on highway 1 to the coast for 40 miles of big time twisties with a gs1250 and a proficient rider and all he seen was my distant tail light. Hopefully the red beast will treat me well.
The GX mirrors are really close to you and they're useless. Forget elbows, all I see in them are my shoulders. So this extra room for mirrors on the GT seem the better option.
Hi mate, I remember your test ride of 1000sx and your very positive feedback. Can you compare these two considering 1000GT brakes and missing heated grips. Thanks in advance.
Guys are putting Brembo radial master setups on these for about $500. At that point the brakes become as good as anything else out there. Such an easy fix.
Hi there! I can’t find the s1000xr review you mentioned on your YT channel. It might be a zone restriction or something? Btw, brilliant job with your content! Thx!
@@conservativesniperhunter7439 I did like the GX better too. More leg room for my 6'2" frame, the front plastics were more narrow, giving you a more naked feel. I wish they'd release a version without the electronic suspension, probably would be comparable to the GT in price.
I disagree. This suzuki is just a copy of the z1000sx ans isn't as good as that. I have owned the z100sx and have a tracer 9gt and the yamamha is just better
For 8k more I would hope so, but I doubt it. The gearing and ergonomics are way different. Although yours has more power, stock v stock my guess is they are even to a quarter mile.
I rode my GT to test ride a V4S Multi. I came away feeling like my bike had better low to mid range torque and the V4S had the stronger top end. Those Ducatis are fantastic and for damn near twice the money, they better be. Although I really liked the V4S, I didn't come away feeling like I experienced twice the value and it felt like it would be silly to trade my GT for one since my primary use is sport touring where I spend 95% of the time in the midrange where the Ducati didn't feel any better, if at all. Would love to have that radar cruise control though!

Agree.

Suzukis are great tbh, and there's no replacement for displacement.

It's not selling well. People love adv bikes these days which is annoying
@@fearhand12 The Tracer 900 is absolutely hideous as are a lot of other ADV bikes.
I love my 2018 GSXs1000F which this is a further evolution of.
Lol...for a moment I thought what an orgasmic sound...but then I saw R1M😂
I thought the same!!!!!😂
My favourite Suzuki, bags on, looks mega.
From 80mph-160mph, the Tracer gets left in the dust by this Suzuki.

'B' mode is the best 👌
I leave mine in B mode all the time.
Tried this one and new kawasaki 1000sx is better than this one 😉
Directly comparable to the Ninja 1000SX (great bike)!
Considered buying one that year. Agreed leans sporty. Very nice bike. Thanks for the review.

Great review but i tried both and went for a Tracer 9 GT +
Correct choice 😃 Suzuki is not comparable with Tracer 9 GT at all. These are all motorcycles that’s the only true🤷

It is surprisingly quite sharp looking for a GT!
Great bikes but no top box or centre stand option on a Gt bike is a big downside for touring etc

Hey an upload is an upload I guess 🤷
* the comment I remember reading was someone said this “is an old man’s liter bike”
Riding modes are a waste of time as well as all the multimedia functions. I wish Suzuki put the money into better parts.
Headlights give me abit of MT10 vibes
Man, Suzuki naming system is not so simple to pronounce.
No one had issues saying "GSXR one thousand" for decades, but replace the R with an S and everyone is thrown for a loop :D
