    I’ve been working on an original clear for a while and watching your video I’ve realized that I’ve been way too stingy with bombs. Thanks for this, really motivating too

      Hey Chase! You'll have this cleared in no time if you stick with it. Be sure to grab the hidden extend in stage 3 if you haven't been doing that and let me know if you need help with anything. All the best!

    Hey :) it was great to hear you talk about being close to 1cc that you were like... Any day now... I had that feeling with Sorcer Striker. After listening to this last night, I woke up and got the 1cc on Sorcer Striker :D thanks for the inspiration!

    Hey Dace! Nice clear. Yeah stage 3 can be a bit of a pest lol. I'm currently chipping away on my novice clear. I was struggling with stage 3 but after playing it on repeat for quite a bit it did become easier. Slowly but surely I'll get my clear and move on to the other modes. I've been going to sleep and waking up with this games soundtrack in my ears lol. Take it easy.

    This run was a ton of fun! I use plenty of concepts/theory from your videos to implement in my runs/playstyle and it was sweet getting to see you tackle Mushi so close to my Normal OG 1.00 1cc. The runs are pretty different of course, but I still felt like I was able to be more mentally connected to your play for this one. Great vid!

    Nice gutsy clear. Level 3 is an oddity. I found it easier in arcade mode once I learned it than I did in v1.5. I found level 3 in v1.5 to be key to getting my clear. Futari is an exquisite sequel to Mushi and it's almost worth getting a 360 for just to play it. If you like Mushi, you will LOVE Futari. It is still going for sensible prices and it's a superb M2 port. I've had a few goes at v1.5 Original in MAX mode and it's quite a trip too. I gives you a single bomb but it has an autobomb fearure. The enemy patterns are a lot busier - feels like Maniac mode - when I got back to Mush it will be that mode I will have a crack at next. Interesting to see your weapon choice - I've got my 2 clears on the M-shot but I'd like to try it seriously with the other shot styles.

    • @Shmuptopia
      @Shmuptopia  ปีที่แล้ว

      I totally agree. Stage 3 was a crucial point to do decently. Stage 4 can still pose problems but felt much more laid back and stage 5 felt like a breeze since it's more or less a boatload of big bullet-cancel enemies to use as stepping stones. Thanks for checking this out Davy!

    This is such a fun mode, the music is great and the slowdown makes it quite beginner friendly. There is no doubt you would absolutely destroy it if you were to play it today. I feel the same about Maniac btw, I want to go back to it at some point but it kind of bores me whenever I try to. I'm not sure what it is.

      Always a pleasure having you pop in. My uploads have been pretty frequent lately and I never expect anyone to watch everything but I appreciate your support, my friend! I find it fascinating you've also experienced this with Maniac. I think there will be a time for the game down the road, but we'll see. There's never a pressure if I'm really not feeling it and I'm sure it's the same for you. The undeniable drive needs to be there to go all-in.

    I liked the S shot for the novice mode, but for the normal mode, i need my default shot but for a weird reason actually, just because you get more projectiles on the screen so, more slowdown on stage 3, basically, the whole giant beast or 95% of it is in slowdown with that shot! Are you "working on" any 1cc right now, any other shmup? I havent cleared mushi 1 yet, i choked on the last boss, i was guted, made a pause, and i'm back at it right now. Futari black label might be my next one, it is so fun! (FBNEO emulator)

      @Shmuptopia  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It's interesting you drop a comment, as just last night and today I was experimenting with Novice mode using one of my all-button controllers. I did a clear earlier today, and it's definitely a totally different experience using a controller like this. My primary use for them is fighting games and controlling movement comes naturally, but in Shmups, it feels very unintuitive compared to dpad or stick. You'll have your Mushi clear in no time!

    • @DdRemasters
      @DdRemasters 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Shmuptopia I looked at all buttons controllers, looks to me pretty much like playing on a keyboard, which as an old pc gamer i'm pretty good at, i can probably use that, but yeah, doesn't seem too tempting for shmups. For fighting games like street fighters, stuff like making 3x a "hadoken" move with feilong is sooo easy on keyboard that it feels like cheating, just 3 buttons (down, left) and punch, BAM, repeat! it's also killer for games like mortal kombat or killer instinct, just like a keyboard basically, never a wrong input once you're used to it. For shmups, i currently use the 8bitdo M30 pad i just got, it's ok, might grab a hori mini stick later on, as i read you played with that one and liked it. Cheers.

    What controller do you use to get clears on Switch? I ask because I've been able to get a few clears here and there on my Switch, but sometimes I seriously run up against control issues on micro dodging.

    • @Shmuptopia
      @Shmuptopia  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey WT! Fantastic question. When you say on your Switch, do you mean in handheld with the joy-cons or some other controller attachment where you're still in handheld or are you using a pro controller while docked? For this specific Mushihimesama clear, I was using the pro controller - which has been used for many of my clears but Crimzon Clover was one of the last main ones because - with how insane that was and how much my pro controller stick would sometimes drift or make my ship overshoot movements, it was far too risky continuing to tackle wild clears with it. I currently use the Hori Mini arcade stick (which I swear by for a few reasons) but it won't be for everyone. While we're on the topic of arcade sticks, I'm aiming to branch into that realm on the channel in the very near future. It's something I've been wanting to do for ages but just haven't gotten around to it and one of the first things I have in mind as long as all goes well is a review of the Hori Mini. Definitely let me know what you're using most of the time or what you have at your disposal. Depending on the game and mechanics, controls, etc., the joy-cons or pro may be fine but if you notice yourself wanting to experiment with something like a stick more and more due to current controller issues, then that's awesome but may also have an adjustment phase since everyone clicks with things like that differently. Either way, I'm more than happy to share some guidance!

    • @TheSamuraiGoomba
      @TheSamuraiGoomba ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Shmuptopia I mostly play in handheld mode when I use my switch. So I'm either using the joycons (which can be okay for 4-direction arcade games, but not for diagonals in shmups) or my hori split pad pro. The split pad pro is pretty good but I'm not sure how I feel trying to tackle clears of actually hard games with it. The joycons are awful for shmups. I was just curious what you use since you have all these shmup clears specifically on Switch. I thought you must have run through the gamut of switch controller options and found a solution that works for you.
