was expecting to far game the game's capabilities since that's lumpy's style, but instead it felt really accurate
I tried going for super accuracy by hacking my sprites into the actual game. Worked well I think!

Actually there's a GBA game creator. Apparently it's way easier than ROM hacking and you can make unique games and even play them on real hardware.

For me 'sus' was enough to break the immersion
I knew it was fake as soon as the name selection came up, because usually you get to type in any name you want, but this one only had three options.

Suspicious, yes, but shortening it to "sus" outside of distinct regional slang (which Nintendo wouldn't use in localization) has been within the past few decades, and "sussy" literally has never been uttered by a single living human until like three years ago. "Sissy" has been a thing for awhile though.
Lumpy Touch, I respect you, but you have broken the most sacred commandment of Pokemon: you must name your rival something stupid, demoralizing, or both.
And you have to name the PC "Red" in order to keep the timeline consistent.
I think using the word sussy already broke like 7 sacred commandments

Dare i say, this has to be one of the more creative Anti-Piracy Screen videos that i've seen in recent times. No more VHS quality screens, no jumpscares, just very subtle differences that make it stand out.

The slight differences in the introduction are actually kinda unsettling at first. Such as oak just saying “Sure.” or ASH having shorter eyes, or even the “She’ll be here soon.” Very well done.
Also when they tried to leave early, Prof Oak gave him a dialogue in which he said "basic stuff".

This is actually really cool but I was having trouble taking it all TOO seriously when the amogus jokes were kicking in. Overall, despite the weirdly modern meme in a Gameboy game from the 90s, this does make a lot of sense. Very cool!

The Amogus-references felt kinda unnecessary, otherwise this was very awesome. It felt authentic but had some nice lore with great foreshadowing in it. I don't think I'll ever grow tired of your content!

When I heard that "there was an impostor among us" from Professor Oak, the game changed the whole atmosphere (with lavander town theme) while staring at the thief which is you.

This was great 😳 I want a fan made version where you get away with it for a little while, and have to fight to get away with it. It'd be great if the ending can be either you getting caught, or getting away. Lol
The jailballs actually look neat. Wonder what the mechanic would be. If used on a pokemon that can either transform or copy something, 4x capture chance, and if pokemon can learn Pay Day, Covet, or other stealing moves/abilities, 2x capture?

I think it'd be really interesting to see different narratives played out in this format. This video almost felt like a web toon or playable novel (like the Walking Dead games - don't know the exact term).

With all the Among Us references, I was so expecting an Impostor-style animation where the trainer killed Oak.
This feels nostalgic probably because I 1st started playing Pokémon Red and Blue 3 years ago!

This is good stuff, although all the Among Us references kinda took me out of the experience.
This is made at least approximately two times better by the fact that there is an actual character in Pokemon, both the trading card game and the anime, named Impostor Professor Oak.

The levels of nostalgia that got injected into my veins seeing this was literally painful.
This felt pretty tame for a Lumpy Touch animation. But that makes it feel a bit more believable.

I appreciate that you had Oak use a special Poké Ball instead of a regular one, given that they canonically aren't very effective for containing Pokémon against their will.
Should've just drawn it as a Master Ball, they're pretty distinctive.

@@spongeintheshoe Umm no. Not at all, that's literally never been established in any game, whether main line or spin-off. In fact, the reverse is very much true. Once initially caught, Pokémon CANNOT get out of a ball unless let out by someone or something else. ANY ball.

Interesting, I was expecting this to be a lot more horrifying, and it was a bit when Oak's eyes turned black, but it was surprisingly an effective "Anti-Pirating" message.
