In this updated video for 2022, Magen shows us how to locate your TH-cam channel ID to embed the live stream channel into your website. As an example, she uses a WordPress website created by REACHRIGHT.
With the recent TH-cam creator studio changes, your TH-cam channel backend may look different from our previous tutorial.
For TH-cam creators, the channel ID is useful so that we don't need to change the embed code within your website each time you stream! We can just do a streaming embed!
Magen makes it so that you won't need to know any code, and your stream will stay well within the TH-cam best practices.

Recently, TH-cam (Google) made some changes to how users are able to embed live streams onto their websites. Previously, we recommended using the embed code along with the 'Channel ID' as this didn't require constant editing of the website where the live stream embed is located. We are unsure if this change is permanent or if this service is just temporarily unavailable.
Until we know more, here are some temporary solutions:
1. Paste the individual live stream embed code into your website each week.
To do this go to TH-cam Studio and click 'Content' > 'Live' > 'Get Sharable link' and then paste that link for that specific scheduled live stream into the Video element or RAW element in Cornerstone on your website. This will need to be done each week until a new solution is made available via TH-cam.
2. Replace the live stream with a button that goes to your TH-cam channel's live stream.
To find this, go to your TH-cam channel and click 'Live'. Use the URL there and add it to the button element on Cornerstone in your WordPress website. This URL should be a more permanent solution but will remove the end user from your website.
We will continue to reach out to TH-cam and hopefully find a better solution for users who choose to utilize TH-cam live streaming.

For the livestream to work, you do have to have a LIVE video scheduled in your channel. If you see the VIDEO UNAVAILABLE error, that is usually the issue - that there is no content for the URL to pull in. If you schedule the video for live stream (4:40 in the video above) this URL should work just fine.
Hi! Can there be several scheduled streams or will that affect the embed?
@@IglesiaAdventistaLancaster1 you can schedule as many live streams as you want. Then they just go live as they are scheduled. Saves you time.
I know that. My embedded code has worked for 2 years. Now i have several scheduled livestreams, but it says "video unavailable". My channel id didn't change...

I am not getting the thumbnail to show up. Any suggestions. I have gone through redoing 3 times. I am just getting "This video is unavailable."
Do you have your videos scheduled? You do have to have at least 1 set up to stream for it to have something to pull in.
Thank you for this, but WordPress keeps changing the link automatically. The (spaces added) "/ embed / live_stream / channel=" is converted to " watch?v=live_stream %3F channel %3D" and I cannot edit the embedded block. I entered it manually and it changed it again to the above. Any thoughts?

@@mykway No we have not. The best I can figure out is due to our low number of subscribers we will not be allowed to embed live streams. I just provide links to the TH-cam page for our livestream and people are good with that. I do wish we could make it work!

@@DavidMoonWainwright You ARE allowed to embed video streams with low (or even zero) subscribers! Apparently that's very misunderstood TH-cam rule, having to do with the YT Partner program, and monetization. For the Partner program you need 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours to be accepted. We ordinary schmoes can embed all we want. Oddly, I don't have any problem with Wordpress changing my embed code. If you figure it out, it might be good to post the solution here.

With concert streams, I have always changed the embed code just before a performance begins. This use of the channel ID is extremely handy, BUT, the ?rel=0 option to scrap the "related videos" display appears to trash the player window in our stream page. I'd hate to go back to editing the embed code every time, but I really don't want all those random suggestions - just offers from our own website. Any workarounds you're aware of for this?

Hi, I’m about to run an online song contest... The site is built round several components, plugins etc for a secure voting that is done in two phases. In Phase-1 all voting is done on the website. In phase-2 all voting is done by LIVE SMS TEXT-IN ... when it comes to the live even I’m afraid I may get a strike for the use of copyright on cover songs.... I’m not quite sure how this works out... instead of using TH-cam for the live event, could I hold the event from my site? Thanks you 👍🏽
I am not totally sure about this, but I do know you would need a live streaming service to host the videos and I am sure a plugin would be needed for the voting aspect too...
