  • When we revisit Indian mythology, there is a general perspective and notion that the strong mighty women are far and few and the "abla naari" were more common. Is that really true? Not really, says award-winning author Devdutt Pattanaik in this exclusive interview with Kidsstoppress.
It's all in the storyteller's perspective he says and that got me thinking. As we discuss his new book "Sati Savithri" we get a new perspective on feminism, women empowerment and a misconceived notion of patriarchy that existed back then.
Devdutt also talks to us about writing for kids, the challenges and why it is important to get them to think with open-ended questions when storytelling. His new book ABC of Hinduism For Kids is a must-add to your child's bookshelf. Listen to the full interview and do let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

70%-80% of masses are not interested in such intellectual conversations, but want simple guidelines that will work in making their lives simple, fruitful, fullfilling, and ensure social Security till death, by way of a well oiled social system.
When we go deep there are so many things both welcome and unwelcome. So wisemen prepare agenda so that common people are not burdened with unwanted thought processes, but go about their lives safely by imposing simple rules and ideas.
Some who are extraordinarily inclined will naturally breakout, just like water finds its way. For larger peace and order in society, agendas do work.

How dare Devdutt Pattanaik call the Hindu scriptures as Mythology??I don't understand why Devdutt Pattanaik is being called to speak on Hindu scriptures. He has misinterpreted Bhagavad Gita in his book 'My Gita'. He is not even educated about the basics of the 'puranas' and the two 'itihaas' i.e the Ramayana & Mahabharata. He has a long record of misinterpreting facts .

I don't understand why people always use sentences like "women were not allowed to do this or that." Or "Freedom was given to her".

OMG they got this propaganda machine 🤮🤮🤮, his career is almost finished so he is trying hard to revive it now by dissing hnduism.

But he isn't dissing Hinduism. He is telling about our mythology and how nuanced and close to real life it was.
