    A little tip for the DT solar lights--we bought 10 of these little gems for "tornado season". We put them in the yard to charge whenever we get storm warnings so when the power goes out we have some cool lighting. They dont get as hot as candles or oil lamps. With kiddos and pups running around safe is always best.

      You just reminded me of a useful tip I used while living in apartments. Became limited physically when I was a 27 year old Mom of two. I purchased a new trash can with wheels. ALL of the laundry was put in there and wheeled to the laundry room at the apt complex. Then when they are dry, wheel the clean clothes back to the apartment to fold. I also taught.my sons how to do laundry at the age of 10 years old. That was helpful for me and helpful for them as well

    I use it to create a backdrop for photo's at birthday party. I take the rectangular plastic tablecloths (cheaper elsewhere) and cut vertical strips of 3 or so colors and then tie them on to the stick. Then you can add banners or other hanging garlands etc to it. Hang the pole up and you have a backdrop for your photos!

    Use a blow dryer on hot to loosen up the adhesive on the broomstick stickers. They'll peel off pretty easily then. There might be some adhesive residue left behind, but I find using a little olive oil on a paper towel does the trick to rub that right off. Could always use a little Goo Gone as well, but I don't like how that stuff smells.

    • @hume6900
      @hume6900 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      Goo Gone is a product for just that sort of problem and generally works a treat! On something round like the pole, you can put the Goo Gone on a tissue, wrap around the area then cover with plastic wrap. Leave for a while and then remove and wipe down. Label and goo should be gone.

    • @tovah2276

      @hollymarie84 I can’t STAND the smell of GOO GONE….to the point that is is GONE GONE out of the house. Hubby can use it in garage and scrub BEFORE he comes back in house. I have a SENSITIVE SNIFFER and NO WAY can I stand that stuff! Appreciate not feeling so “alone” in my stance of “Just SAY NO!” LOL! I use the Blow dryer as well AND, My mom taught me a great one….get off what you can with the BD on High Heat and then what is left, just use a tsp of Peanut butter and smother area with stickie left on and leave overnight (or a few hours) wrapped in some Plastic Wrap and next morn, it wipes RIGHT off and a slight doors of PB in the morn is a HECK OF A LOT BETTER than “🤢🤮” other smell! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 Thanks again for making me feel a tiny bit less “alone” in the sniffer world!!❤

      @hollymarie84 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      @@tovah2276 My mom also taught me to use peanut butter, too. But mostly for chewing gum stuck in hair or on skin. The olive oil works the same exact way as it is the oil in both that breaks down the stickies. I even use the extra light tasting olive oil because there is no scent. I am also really sensitive to smells! 😂

    You can scrub the fence with the broom (like the shower) and then just a quick rinse with the hose. I feel like it wastes less water and gives you a workout! Just bought the parts for a broomstick and Command mop hooks for the curtain rod. The Command hooks were about $12 apiece at my local Lowe’s. So, about 25.50 for a removable curtain rod. Random tip this reminded me of… buy a new clean “bench brush” and keep it with your outdoor patio furniture. The furniture cushions when left on always get dusty…just whip out the brush and clean them off, easiest way to keep them sitt-able in the summer. Saves me all the time when company shows up. A bench brush has thick soft bristles meant for cleaning up sawdust and can be found really in expensively at Home Improvement stores. Not sure if Dollar Tree has them. ❤Love your videos always.❤

    A long time ago I wanted to make black-out curtains for my bedroom. I didn't buy them for obvious reasons. So I went to Ikea and bought their white panels and dyed them pink to go in my room. For the long window, a curtain rod would have been very expensive so I bought a long PVC pipe and spray painted. Then I took 2 round light bulbs from my bathroom lights as I didn't need them on over the 2nd sink. Spray painted those and stuck them in the PVC as rod ends. They still stand in my bedroom. Though the curtains have faded and need to be re-dyed. A very similar idea.

    It occurred to me when you demonstrated hanging wire baskets on your broomstick that to protect your wall from scuffs and indentations from the weight of the baskets you could pin or glue a long piece of clear (or colored) plastic (or wood or metal) about 2-3 inches wide and placed where the bottom of the baskets hit the wall. You want the plastic to be wide enough to accommodate the vertical travel of the baskets as you fill and empty the baskets. Hope this is useful.
    Also, a QUESTION: Have you seen any dollar stores (or big box stores) offer affordable broomsticks in longer sizes? Most I've come across are only 54 inches (4.5 ft) in length, where in many cases, I would wish I could find 6-ft lengths. Thanks. Terrific video.

      I made 2 of those trellises anf found even 7ft t posts werent really tall enough if used in the ground instead of in a raised bed. The broimstick would ve REALLY short but i bet for a low trellis they would work great. But i realky like the $6 electric conduit. And it will fit in a crossover suv.

    Oh I love these tools too. I have a couple of sticks and all four of the garden tools. I'm still working on my cleaning heads but just bought the square broom head and saw a ceiling fan cleaning tool there also. And a round duster head. They are coming out with more all the time. I love the light on a stick idea. Thanks.

    I really liked the idea of the renter-friendly & economical window treatment, so I tried it and ended up over complicating it and paying more than expected... still liked the results. The issue was the window in my living room is really long and big and two broom sticks were too small and would have looked awkward as one long rod and I couldn't justify buying another broom for just less than 10 inches. I couldn't find the Command broom holder, so I used the Command heavy duty hook instead, which works well. I ended up getting a total of 4 of these hooks and a set of 2 curtains for each side of the window. So, in all, it set me back $45, which isn't much cheaper than a standard setup. In retrospect, I could have gotten 2 of the Command hooks & a standard rod from the store and it would have been the same price. Oh well. As i said, the result is decent.. I wish I could attach a picture. You can't tell they are dollar tree broom sticks!

    Omg ❤ the idea for hanging kid paintings, as well as the wire plant baskets! I’ve got vinyl fencing in my backyard, and I couldn’t think of a way to use that vertical space since it’s not wood that I could simply drill into. Now I’m thinking I might be able to make a little vertical garden after all! Thank you for sharing all your great ideas!

    I have a curtain rod in my laundry room that I (just this morning) wondered what I do with it. It’s a nice one and I’ll be able to hang clothes straight out of the dryer to put on hangers. I’ve been using hooks on a decorative piece until I can hang them… so, thanks so much!!

    Kallie, love your realness and quirks. Loved the "curtain rod" idea! While watching your Jedi moves MY light bulb flickered! 💡 Why not go a tad further and make the look cuter by getting a couple of the long scarves or those round cowls $tree sells by making them look like curtain swags. You'll have to do some manipulating, ie; cutting, gluing or sewing them together but I really think this would fancy it up. I'm going to do that myself I think! 😊😉💜

    If your kids are old enough you help they can be on either end of the stick with the bags on it. Then you can be sure they are going with you and helping at the same time! Especially if you have more then 2 kids. Kids love helping and feeling useful. Gives them purpose and helps their self esteem! Just s friendly tip from not only a mom but a former preschool teacher.

    You can also buy EMT conduit, cutters, &/or benders for all kinds of projects. Yes, it can be a little more expensive, but more durable, easily more paintable, & up to 10 foot sections long.
