Well, I needed two stents because I had a 100% blocked artery and the other two were both 75% blocked. I was told it was a pretty routine operation and I wasn't worried at all. I was aware, but not feeling anything, the surgeon finished and I thought wow, no sweat. That was until the nurse was suddenly staring into my eyes with with a look of worry and fierce determination. I was spurting blood all over the place and she was trying to save my life by applying massive pressure to the wound. Too much blood thinner. She saved me and god bless her and all nurses!
It's so interesting how the role you call scrub nurse is actually a Surgical Technologist and First Assist. I am a surg tech student and we have been told by graduates and instructors themselves how often aspiring OR nurses go through curriculum thinking they will be performing the role of a ST or CSFA!
"Scrub nurse is actually a Surgical Technologist and First Assist... in USA", the video is based in the Phillipines where scrub nurses act as what you call 'Surgical Technologist', and the same can be said with Scandinavia. Source: Am a Danish OR nurse. This requiers a basic nurse bachelor, and preffered a minimum of 2 years basic nurse experience (Not a requierment in all cases), and then a training program of 6 month, give or take, after you start. This information is only based on Scandinavia though, as i do not know the requierments of the Phillipines.
Hi . I come from Vietnam. I am also a nurse anesthetist like you. Can I ask for information to contact you? Can I chat and ask you about anesthesia in your country?
Best OR nurse video i have seen. And ive seen a lot doing some research.
I love the way that its presented, they did a really good job with this.

How long is your program?
@Bellatheacapella 1 year. You have to have prereqs completed tho (most I already had done) it's an associates degree program
They certainly can? I don’t see how an educated Registered Nurse couldn’t perform these tasks too, albeit with extra specialization skills.
I miss the OR setting. I hope to work there in the coming years.
Don't forget the instruments inside the patient's body

Just curious what's the difference between an RN and an operating room RN?
operating room RN is an RN who went through extra training/schooling to work in the operating room.
Umm anesthesia isn't sterile either.

But so far it's nice video, good job
Uh he has a paper mask on underneath his oxygen mask...?
I was thinking cause it was a mock surgery and given around the time posted it was probably due to covid
