    Just to clarify. Cause I feel like some of you guys might be missing the point. You can get the Flow Suite plugin for free if you own all these plugins. You have to subscribe and then cancel, and then you can use the plugin from there on out. ( not sure why they won't just let you download, but day one stuff, I suppose) Also, the subscription gives you credits towards buying the plugins. So it's not like you just rent the plugins; you will eventually own them. I'm not advocating for Softube one way or another, but it should be pointed out.

      If you own the products that he uses. There is no subscription you get those flows for free. Obviously, if there’s a product in that flow that you don’t own, you don’t have access to that flow. It’s a nice incentive for people that already know the products.

    not sold on this one. Ozone sounded better each time in your video, altough I would back off some things of course. Flow version has a thin and annoying sound, Ozone sounds more balanced and neutral to the ear. The low mids are warmer and highs are better controlled on Ozone

      Yeah, I personally don't subcribe to any one Mastering suite such as Ozone, Slate etc... I own all of them but I find that Creating my own chains works best. So I use a hybrid of plugins.

    Love Ozone for all my mastering needs. It's the prime, in my opinion. Flow reminds me of T Racks by ik multimedia. Which is still awesome. You can get great results out of any of them. I just feel Ozone is still king.

  • @RJ1J

    I still feel like Masterplan has the edge at the moment when it comes to all in one mastering, especially the new price. That said, people I know who are experts in Ozone can create magic with that thing. I think Flow needs work, not a surprise as it's version 1, and different mastering engineers could put their own settings in for different genres. Right now it sounds a bit tinny and reliant on plug-ins which are many years old.

  • @MaPa60

    Great job demoing this, Matty. I started mastering my own stuff because I wasn't happy with the masters I got back (never tried Matty, though, but learned a ton from the tips). Now Softube wants me to trust their mastering even without listening to my music? No tnx, I've learned my lessons by now. The macros are cool, but not flexible enough, and sub is not going to happen.

  • @danielmcdill
    @danielmcdill หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The issue I've noticed with most analog copies is that THD style saturation compounds when using multiple analog plugins creating that annoying tinny tone... You gotta be really sparing when using these things... The fake analog saturation is nice when you use one or two near the end of the chain... But stacking them like that really creates that playing through saran wrap tone... Don't get me wrong... Soft tube has some of my absolute favorite plugins... But things can be overdone...

    Waiting to see if Plugin Alliance or UAD come out with something similar. I really rate Soft Tube and think this is a great plugin with some very, very good components. But I still like Ozone 11 at the moment - especially the ability to load my own tracks as reference for mastering!

    night and day between ozone and flow. flow sounds thin and brittle, harsh. Ozone, maintains the body and punch. Ozone is meant to be tweaked as well. You should never just use what it initially spits out.

    • @mixedbymatty
      @mixedbymatty  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I get that. But keep in mind we didn’t really tweak much with either program. Except dialing back ozone a bit. I would do some self investigation with both program before coming to a conclusion on a 5 min TH-cam video. I think flow is a nice tool to have. Using both over the last few weeks sometime flow worked better sometimes ozone did. Sometimes I used the best of both.
