    I used to live in esher. I lived there since I was 3 all the way up until I was 12. Sadly I had to move because the school I went to wasn’t too great and we found a really good school where I live now. (And I think my mother wanted to try a new place considering she had lived in cities most her life) I still visit esher a lot to see my friends. I lived in west end and would do pick your own a lot in garsons farm! Thank you for visiting 😁

    Loved the walk and the history of Esher. I went to the Park s as a teenager with my family and saw swans on the lake there
    So nice to see the trees getting their new leaves. Stay safe and l look forward to our next walk from Val in Capetown

      Hey there Val, lovely to hear from you:) I have a real soft spot for the ponds around there and yes, spring is very much trying to show itself, but it's cold again so the plants are taking their time. All the best, Angela

    Thank you. That was quite a long walk but reminiscent for me, as I now live in USA.

    Hi Angela, great to join you on your walks again! I especially loved this video as it's five minutes from the village where I grew up (Claygate) and I didn't realise it had such a fantastic history to it. I always wondered why Esher was situated where it was, now I know! Congratulations on smashing the 2K subscriber mark too! Looking forward to seeing many more of your videos this year :) x

      Hey there Best of UK, lovely to hear from you and thank you for your kind comment. Also glad I could give you a bit of new information about the area you grew up in. I actually drive through Claygate quite often to avoid the traffic on Esher High Street, which is obviously not ideal for Claygate..... Loving that Hampton Court video of yours:) All the best, Angela

      @@ChattyWalkswithAngela Thanks Angela, yes I've been caught in that traffic a few times, next time I'm going slowly past Sandown at 2 mph I'll remember the historical significance of that road - it's the road of kings! Looking forward to your next video, take care, Liane :) x

    We used to do the walk from Surbiton, around the far side of the racecourse, beside the railway line and back this way along Portsmouth road, via Esher High Street, about 50 years ago. The thing I remember most was the amazing, as I remember it, Cinema.

    • @ChattyWalkswithAngela
      @ChattyWalkswithAngela  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, that sounds like a long walk! I imagine there was a lot less traffic then too. I haven't been in the cinema, but as I've mentioned in the video have heard a lot of good things about it. Angela

    • @stevie8763
      @stevie8763 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I only remember the Cinema from its outside appearance, I haven't been in either. The walk wasn't far, we did it with the children, a push chair, a three wheeler bike and a large welsh collie. Think of it as a 'tip toe through the tulips'.

    I have missed your videos, thank you for this wonderful new walk. It impresses me to see the streets so empty, on the one hand it is shocking but on the other it is a great way of being able to enjoy and appreciate the details of the city 😊👍

    Thanks alot for doing the walk. It's been a while since you uploaded one. I live in Australia and miss the areas I lived and went walking. Can you do the Hampton Court tow path and around that area?

      Glad you enjoyed the walk and that is a good idea. I've been asked to film the small high street at Hampton Court so I could walk the towpath to Hampton Wick taking in views towards Kingston. All the best, Angela

    Hi Angela how are you doing Yes it is wonderful see you back filming after being away for over a month. But it's very understandable considering the Heavy lockdowns that has been going on in Britain. Thank you for the lovely walk around Suffolk and I have heard a lot about Sandown race track over the years as my Grandparents were heavy into Horse Racing . I am doing good now that I am starting to get back to my normal work schedule slowly but surely and things are starting to get busy again. Here in My province Alberta mostly everything has re-opened with limited capacity and we still have to be wearing our masks for some time still . Anyway Angela luv once again great to see you back and post videos when you are able to as I won't be the only one saying you were missed very much for the great filming and Narration you put in your videos. Can't wait until the next one.
    Take care: Michael Gray

      Lovely to hear from you Michael:) Not sure what it's like in Alberta, but spring is sort of starting to show itself here, making staying indoors much more difficult! I can't wait to be able to get out filming again properly but will probably stay in the local area for quite a while until I feel happier about taking the train into London. Glad that Sandown is part of your family history and that I could bring it to you. And it's good to hear a degree of normality is returning there. It's 'outdoor' reopening on 29 March here, then from 12 April hairdressers and things through to 23 June when it's all systems go ... ish;) All the best, Angela

    Hello Angela
    Great to see you back doing a lovely walk. Our snow is all gone now. Our lock down has been done now for about a month. Vaccines are going slow my parents have not done been done yet. That funny rock formation with chair it looked like a remain of a gratto. Rich people used to have them in there gardens. It was great video. Take Care Chris and Sandra of Canada

      I'll send a longer reply shortly, but for now, you are absolutely spot on - it's a grotto known as Wolsey's Well! Wish I had known when I was filming as it's rather significant: osborne.house/profilego.asp?ref=2A3D33

      Wow, well, that rather says it all! Thanks for looking it up. It looks as if the blue plaque is for Augusta Aida Byron, Countess of Lovelace, mathematician and computer scientist 1815-1852. The world's first computer programmer. "The official computer software language of the United States department of defence is called 'Ada'. March 24th is 'Ada Lovelace Day', recognising women's achievements in science and technology." I notice Councillor Walton disputes that she lived there but due to Covid it has not been possible to resolve this.
