Not sure if you've heard how they met or not. Ren had finished up busking for the day and was walking home and came upon young Sam singing with no mike or anything and not many people engaged. Ren stopped and said if you use a mike, I guarantee you will draw a crowd. Ren offered his mike and guitar. Sam said yes to the microphone and amp. Ren sat and played guitar for him and sure enough a crowd grew. Ren let Sam keep all of the money they made. And they basically became brothers after that. I suggest Sam's Time Will Fly. It has a clip of that very first day they met and shows Sam's journey. It's a beautiful video. Thanks for this great reaction

I know you’ve been recommended TOOL before, and on a personal (to you) note I think you’d really like watching the vid specifically of the drummer during Pneuma. He just oozes mad inhuman skill. And on a personal (to me) note, Schism is my fav TOOL song. But with TOOL there is no rush, and largely no meanness, and you should fall down that rabbit hole when you feel like it.
