I think the future Mike should definitely set up the veri-grind! 😂
Awesome intro!!! Congratulations on your grinder becoming the ultimate sharpening tool!!!!🎉🎉🎉
Can't speak for the marketing, but it's certainly BETTER. haha
Yes, I’d like to see the Vari-grind accessory
i've used the wolverine and varigrind for several years. love it! the other toolrest is perfect for scrapers of course. excellent quality tool, my 80 year old wood lathe has all oneway accessories, great stuff and made in canada too
Will probably set up and try the Vari-Grind soon, but even without it I'm pleased with the results, and the build quality is indeed really high, as would be expected from a company like Oneway.
@@WoodenThingsAndStuff i've been to their factory, it's about an hour from me, very impressive. i got the varigrind soon after i started turning, it makes repeatabilty easy
Finally! You got that thing set up.
Yes, Mike, the Vari Grind makes things much easier and more accurate once you learn how to use it. It also makes it easier to work with extra-long handles since it holds the tool from the shank instead of needing to be extended to the end of the tool.
Will probably set it up soon and see. Might do a follow-up video....
Awesome video. I have a different system but same concept. I really like the attachment for the smaller gouges. The tool rest for the rough gouge, parting tool and scrapers. Keep up the awesome work. 👽
Very nice video. Glad you blew the years of dust off of it before the grand opening. :D And enjoyed Mike's Mounting Techniques using starbond. Glad future Mike came here to learn.
Past Mike should really be more considerate to Future Mike.
This new intro is really fantastic, Mike!
Too bad the rest of them still suck? Is that what you're getting at? hahaha
Your videowas great. Set up mine today. sure seems way faster and accurate than doing it freehand and eyeballing it. Used the varigrind. should have done this a lot sooner.
@@deltaacht Thanks very much! I also should have done it sooner. Got okay at freehanding it, but this is so much easier and quicker, which makes me sharpen more frequently.
Awesome video Mike! I love the new addition to the shop!
So far so good!
Thanks for the video. Yes you will like the vari-grind attachment. You should use it right in the beginning because you will reduce the grinds without grinding half your tool away. It’s good for fingernail grind, bowl gouge and side or Irish grind. Vari-grind 2 is even better because it increases the ease of use. I’m surely going to enjoy sharpening my turning tools a lot more
I'm probably setting it up next week, because I kind of haven't been happy with my grind since I did the Wolverine setup (though I haven't turned a ton since then). Will do a follow-up video on how things have been going.
glad to see you put this together, they are nice. You will like the varigrind attachment once you start using it.
Will probably do that soon. But that's what I thought about the jig itself....se we'll see. Haha
Sweet deal. That will definitely keep you on track, with keeping them sharp.
Here's hoping!
helpful video. I'm setting up my jig now
@@cheesefactory6633 glad it helped!
Wow, that must’ve been sitting around for a long time before it to have a CD instructional
Fantastic video, especially the intro.
Thanks, man.
I assume at this point you figured out the stamped steel parts. My instructions did cover them, but it did not jump out at you. We might have different instruction versions,
I actually never did. They're around somewhere....
Having a hard time with a WEN variable speed grinder. Base seems too wide. Doesn’t align anything with the base. Even if I raise it on another base diamond doesn’t align with the wheel.
@@robertmunguia250 unfortunately I can't be of any help. If you still haven't figured it out, maybe reach out to Oneway. I'm told their customer service is top notch.
I found the Veri-Grind system more accurate and repeatable. Your milage may vary.
I think I'll set it up pretty soon and see if I like it. Maybe for a follow-up video.....
Seems like a lot of effort when you could’ve just brought a pro edge 😂😂
Agreed. Money is a better solution.
@@WoodenThingsAndStuff 😂😂 wouldn’t it be nice!
Nice video 🖤
Thanks!
