(Agree with the lack of great writing on the Institute *but* you've got a small team of writers, and dozens to hundreds of artists that then actually create the world. They don't get to do each others jobs, so the Easter eggs and such take no energy away from the writing team at all. They add the Easter eggs in themselves, and having them do more or less wouldn't affect the writers in the other room 8 months in the past, so I suppose, enjoy the Easter eggs knowing that they're harmless and put there by people who *did* care to make the game as special for you as they had the power to achieve.
