    Great videos!.. I rebuilt one but not completely and your videos show all of the details.. great job!... I checked out the link for the throttle shaft drill bit.. they're not cheap at $80 but you do get enough bushings to do 5 carburetors so that evens it out.. I think I have that many on the shelf😀... Some people prefer Holley carburetors but I like the old quadrajets for some reason.. maybe because I had one in my 1977 350 Chevy truck and my 1977 Leocraft motorhome with a 454.. I had those secondaries open many times hauling trailers on some pretty hilly terrain and they treated me just fine🙂... I have saved your playlist and will be going through it shortly!

      Quadrajets are great carburetors and usually misunderstood. Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻

      @@76vetteI managed to pick up what I believe is an 800 or 850? BOP carb with the bumps in the primaries and I just put it on a 1996 l31 350 roller camshaft roller lifter engine that I'm putting into my 1975 GMC.. it runs pretty good on the engine stand!

    Great to see you saving these quadrajet's, I have a feeling alot of folk's will be glad to see these factory numbers carburetor's and wishing they had them instead of aftermarket ones in the future!

      I like to buy Quadrajets if they are complete and in good condition. But they have to have the right numbers. You can still find them at swap meets for cheap prices. And it’s great there are plenty of replacement parts available. If anyone wants originality, the right carburetor is the way to go. 😊👍🏻

    You my friend are a life saver, I never worked on a carb before, just the newer stuff. I was wondering how the choke and fast idle were assembled. Thank you

    Gave up carbs a few years back for an EFI. Never to have a flooding, stuck choke, hard start, stuck float needle ever again. Drivability gains were ridiculous. Good to have a carb on hand though, for an EMP attack :)

      If there’s an EMP attack (natural or man-made), I’d rather have an underground bunker. lol 😆

    I don't see a link for the base plate drill bit and bushings, where do you get these? Good video.

    I have a question ....
    Did they ever make a quadrajet where the typical. Timed vacume port had manifold vacume instead of timed ?
    I have a 1983 Chevy g30 van (1ton) .
    It has a sbc with a 4bbl quadrajet but the usual timed port has full time manifold vacume .
    Is there something wrong with my carb or did they make some this way ?

    • @76vette
      @76vette  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It sounds like you have a Quadrajet 1708 which is a computer-controlled carb. On those carbs timing, along with other functions, is controlled by the ECM.
      To confirm the type of carb your vehicle has, read the number on the throttle side of the carb. It should start with 1708. If someone installed an older one, it won’t run properly.
