the quality of the teaching and the video is beyond extraordinary, and i appreciate the fact that you did all the numbers in just one video, continue like that.
This video is by far the BEST Russian number lesson I have seen although the thousands part was a bit confusing.

The thousands part is explained w/ cases, we use Nominative single after 1; Genitive single after 2, 3, 4; and Genitive plural after 5-9 and 0.
That's a short explanation, and it is indeed confusing, you're not alone in that 😄

I told my client her age in Russian,she's 49,I totally forgot that 40 is sOrok. I said your age is chetire devyatb,then I came back to the lecture,only to be reminded that it should be sOrok devyatb hahahaha...Honestly,the higher numbers are very long to pronounce,more practice is totally needed..

in Russian, there's a saying for that, "чётко и по дЕлу".
You'll say "Да, точно!" ("Oh right!") when somebody reminds you to do something, for instance.

There is an excellent little app available in many languages including Russian, called lisnum (listening to numbers). I had the same problem when i was studying Chinese and it helped me a LOT. Check it out. I think it’s a subscription plan (which I don’t like so much), but it was very well designed to help with number comprehension at different levels of complexity.

Honestly, to me French is more difficult than Russian! 😁 I know Russian is my native tongue, but still, first of all,
Gender. In Russian, you can guess about it, in French you have to memorize it;
Conjugation. In Russian, there’s a very similar pattern for conjugating verbs, and 3 tenses. While in French, how many tenses do you guys have, and how many patterns of conjugation? 😄
And the funniest part for me is, that you left your comment under the video on NUMBERS, seriously? In Russian, there’s no such thing as 4 times twenty seventeen! 😂

I love French though, don’t get me wrong, it’s absolutely worth learning, and in my experience, French speakers are usually fast Russian learners.

Avant de poursuivre, sachez que je tente d'apprendre le Russe pour m'expatrier et que j'aime la Russie et l'âme russe. Ne voyez dans ce qui suis que l'expression d'une personne découragé et frustré de ne pas progresser mais qui s'accroche comme au "radeau de la méduse" ;)
Il est vrai que nous ne voyons pas les difficultés de nos propres langues, mais ... par exemple.
En français si vous voyez un mot, quel qu'il soit. Vous pouvez le prononcer à coup sur sans fautes ni difficulté. Idem si vous l'entendez, vous pouvez l'écrire quasi sans faute, les seuls problèmes pourraient être les sons en/an ou o/au/eau (et encore). Cela aide beaucoup l'apprentissage car ça laisse le cerveau libre de se concentrer sur le fond plutôt que la forme.
En Russe j'utilise une boule de cristal pour deviner où est l'accent tonique, mais aussi appliquer la règle de la voyelle atténué selon la voyelle qui la précède et inversement. Ça fait 12 paires de lettres qui changent de son et encore pas tout le temps et pas toujours de la même manière. 'е' qui peut être i ou e ou ie, idem pour я, etc... дома maison au pluriels oui mais 'а' c'est pas sensé être le féminin ? Et comme si ce n'était pas suffisant si plusieurs voyelles se suivent, une ou plusieurs deviennent aphone mais jamais les mêmes : здравствуйте пожалуйста. его avec un 'v' car entre deux voyelles, mais pas toujours... etc.
Pour un non native, chaque mot est à apprendre par coeur. Pas une fois mais deux fois, une fois à l'orale et une fois à l'écrit. Ce qui est rarement le cas en français vous en conviendrez.
Haaa la conjugaison 😊, j'ai déjà vue cet argument. Ormis certain livres, nous n'utilisons pas plus de temps qu'en russe (passé, présent, futur) les autres temps ne sont que rarement utilisé ;) et certain même s'apparente facilement à vos déclinaisons mais en plus simple.
En Russe ce ne sont pas les temps mais les variations selon le contexte. Combien de verbes de mouvement... 12, 18, 24 ?! vous avez même une distinction pour un déplacement en voiture pleine ou vide 😭. Et je ne parle pas des formes perfectives imperfectives qui ne se contentent pas d'ajouter un préfixe ou un suffixe mais parfois change complètement le verbe et même supprime des lettres en plein milieu. Chaque verbe doit donc être appris par coeur en 2 formes avec des groupes de conjugaisons et déclinaisons.
Pour le féminin masculin, je peux retourner la difficulté à la langue Russe. Il faut aussi apprendre par coeur tout ceux qui finissent par ь et ceux qui sont importé. Sans compté qu'il y a une distinction que nous ne faisons pas, ce sont les animé/inanimé et les neutres. Et comment savoir ceux qui sont importé ?! Mais le pire c'est tout ce qui change dans la phrase. C'est beaucoup de règles à appliquer juste pour une simple phrase. En français une grande majorité est déterminé par le e final et hormis l'article ou le sujet, dans 99% du temps rien d'autre ne change à l'orale.
Alors oui, je suis français et je ne vois très certainement pas la difficulté de ma propre langue bien que je fasse beaucoup de fautes à l'écrit (vous avez du en voir 😳). Mais convenez en, si même votre aristocratie avait une blague comme quoi les russes aristocrate parlaient français avant de savoir parler Russe, ce n'est pas pour rien 😉.
Mon précédent commentaire était juste un nouveau coup de massue en m'apercevant que même apprendre à compter allait devoir être un challenge 😭.
En regardant les classements, fluent français c'est 450h tandis que fluent russe c'est 1500h.
Hummmmmmm ça fait une petit différence là non 😁 Et encore j'ai même vu un classement mettre le russe à 2000h.

In regards to the rest, Russian has pretty simple rules as well, the hard part is, that there are many of them. So the difficulty of learning this language depends on *the way you’re learning it* .

I'm glad Russian has a sane way of counting, unlike French. English, Spanish, Korean, and German that I dabble in all count in a sane manner.

Learning any language is pretty hard and takes a lot of work, but it depends on what your native language is for exact difficulty (and of course early exposure, natural inclination, amount of exposure, and amount of interest are all factors too)
Russian is one of the harder languages to learn for an English Native (German, French, and Spanish are a lot easier) but it is one of the easier languages for a Ukrainian, Serbian, or Polish Native. (It is in second easiest category for Japanese and Chinese Natives)
