Nice job Samsung for not thinking about this idea!!
Woe to those who devise wickedness , And work out evil on their beds! At morning light they practice it, Because it is in the power of their hand. Micah 2:1
They also use it to patch into your phone to listen as well. When that happens, reset network settings immediately.
iPhone automatically turns WiFi and Bluetooth on all the time 🤦🏻♂️ kills my battery I hate it
It shouldn't be doing that. Mine doesn't. Do some research online to see what's going on.
Mine never turns neither on unless I turn them on. That's no good!
Yikes! I've been there and i must say i hate getting blasted by strangers most of the time, especially from behind.
1:33 - Apple will sell this as a new feature for the next i-phone, the ability to turn off 2G!
the first step into stopping scammers, is to pass a law against collecting and selling data
Yes.
That by definition won't stop scammers since they don't care about the laws either way
There's already plenty of laws against that. 🙄 Just like a "no firearms allowed" sign won't stop a criminal from bringing in a gun, lawbreakers are called that _because they break the law._
Technology is growing so fast.
This is technology from our own law enforcement...known for 10 years atleast...stingray
Evidence or just throwing out accusations w zero proof typically of trolls
@@Tad-For-Global-Peace exactly, it's not a stingray. Just an open source 2G transmitter that anyone can buy.
Tech, this Fox News media deleted by comment bc I called out a commenter’s antigovernment rhetoric. Apparently faux doesn’t like people pointing out antigovernment comments from trolls. Right on par w Faux News. ( They will suppress this comment too I bet. )
@@TechHowdenliterally the same concept.
Her pockets must be deep, cuz the lawyer fees to defender her is gonna cost her a grip!
Why did I switch to apple… 🤦♂️
Im curious, who makes this equipment and where do they get it, its not available online ir amazon
I hate that there are people who work that hard to be crooks. Why are we not effectively teaching ethics in our society? People will say it was when we took God out of schools but it has to be bigger than that.
Well, when the household was able to support itself from one income per family, there was the ability to take time to raise your kid 'right' . Then, by the 80s, and the progression of extreme consumerism, the TV was raising the kids most days. Now, people work too damn much or not at all, and no one is raising the kids (if there are any)
Slow, corporate -backed , societal decline .
Also, the turn away of the idea of shared values and the lean into extreme individualism.
Many factors.
Ah... Capitalism is evil. Now I get it. We need more social order.
Mini cell towers!!! They are just now warning us about this! What about our cellular hotspots?!! This is crazy!
And Apple keeps advertising that they are the most secure phones lmfao.. apple is such a joke
Hey Einstein, as of now, this works on ALL phones. I am quite familiar with coding and internet security. I don't think this can even be fixed from the phone end. Blaming apple for this is like blaming a fork for you getting shocked when you stick it in an electric socket. Do NOT believe the false info they are giving you here.
@@TheTraveler33 I'm not blaming apple. I'm saying apple KEEPS advertising that they are secure and private. Comprehension is hard for you i see
Has nothing to do with Apple. Only if they don't fix the issue. It's the cell tower manufacturers
@@RideRedRacer Comprehension? Do you not know that this is NOT a "secure and private" issue on the phone itself? If this can even be fixed, it will need to be done by the cell phone tower owners in conjunction with cell phone service providers. Literally everyone BUT the cell phone makers. You really shouldn't dip your feet into something you are this clueless about. You are just parroting what you heard in this video. You didn't even know about this until now. I knew about it 15 years ago.
@@TheTraveler33 ok you still don't get what I'm saying. Keep arguing like a child
“Hey, iPhone launch is coming and it is killing our market share. What should we do? Well Bill, we could try to scare old people by misrepresenting obsolete technology. Brilliant!
It's mimicking a cell phone tower your phone will automatically connect to it if it's close to it
Yeah good luck Apple coming up with a fix anytime soon. They are Notorious to come out with a feature decades after Android had it.
Can you turn off news and ads coming to your phone w an android? I feel like Google stops you from turning these kinds of things off
I get zero spam about news etc on my iPhone but to be honest I miss the flip phones where I can go out without all this stuff in my phone
cops use them too
called stingers
The government has been doing this for years.
Oh stop your anti government propaganda, you foreign paid troll with a goal to destabilize USA.
Governments have better things to do than sending out spam links to a few hundred people at a time.
Stop with the antigovernment propaganda.
@@TechHowden Like targeting citizens.
So,. Google is kind enough to offer advice on how to defeat old-technology scammers... How about offering us a way to defeat Google's own algorithms so that we can see what they may be hiding from us?
People you don't have to answer no calls or click on any links. It is just like walking around with a mobile cell phone tower that your phone will connect to
It wasn’t clear whether iPhones will only connect to this device through 2G..i thought 2G was the cell network? Currently most networks are 5G. Does that mean they also transmit 2G through 5G? Obsolete phones that are only compatible with 2G are susceptible? Need clearer info please.
Sheriff offices have been using those is how I heard of it , last week tonight HBO
The realest question is, who is the manufacturers that is making these things and selling it to people without proper licensing
Manufacturers aeren;’t selling these, third parties are.
Iphone more at risk.....
I love my cheap android phone.
Still more secure that a thousand dollar iphone
Scammers do everything but get a job. Even when the scam they’re doing is more work than getting a job.
Its a stingray. Those are highly illegal but we used it in our investigation team all the time uh hummmm. But hey the Carrier shall easily detect it but also be carefully for those who are in the rural areas, the cell providers have been reducing their coverage on purpose so people like us use cell extenders and if this gets publicity in the wrong way, there goes all cell extenders in the United States.
I can't follow the instructions to disable 2G because it is too advanced and requires programming. It isn't a setting, a normal setting.
I’ve been screaming about this for over 5 years- likely longer!
What do you mean, the video just now came out, you could NOT have known! Lol. Just kidding. Yeah, I first heard about the Stingray devices that cops were using about 15 years ago. This is like hearing about an 8 track player as being a new idea to people. It's little wonder the prisons are packed with people who went down because of cell phone usage.
@@TheTraveler33 especially when the user of the Stingray can program the “cell tower” location etc, but a SCOTUS case took care of that.
@@MilesAndCounting Lol. Yeah, the scotus ruling stopped them from using it as much as election laws have prevented the left from cheating.
To disable: Android User -> "Settings" -> "Network/Internet " -> "Sim".
Too bad so sad scammers, I never click or answer random texts or calls unless you’re in my contacts.
Seems a simple solution for iphone is to set your phone to always ask before connecting to unknown networks.
If this simple solution works it should've been mentioned
Screw these scammers😂😂
Airplane mode til you’re out of a crowded area lol
I like how the reporter has to shill for apple with some random comments that "apple could patch this in the future" but where did her get that info? He pulled it out of his ass. Yellow journalism, no matter how innocent or small it's wrong and should be called out.
Biggest scam ever is to trade in your time for a lil pay
Wait my cellular network provider is supposed to filter out spam calls and texts?
