23:00 you might be missing more floor than you think. The twin-door transporters and sunroof were built with a double floor to stiffen the chassis. Looking up from the ground, you shouldn't be able to see frame rails between the B and C pillars. Also, the roof crossmember that originally lined up with the C pillar has been cut away, further weakening the structure. I'd consider welding something in place there.

Great find! Neptune Blue is one of my favorite colors.
As long as you'll be welding, I highly recommend adding an access hatch in the rear deck. They were standard on '73 and up Type 2s in the US, which all had the bigger Type 4 engine. I sectioned in one from a Type 3 fastback into my '72 and it's fantastic.
