They all make amazing vehicles period. When the time comes where you can buy one, then you would appreciate it no matter if it's a bmw, an audi, or a mb.
Based on uber. I have been in s class, Audi A8 (on Sunday) and the Beamer. From experience Audi is comfortable than the s class and Beamer is more sporty feel and quicker throttle response
First of all I am not a kid. Secondly, as I previously stated, I have owned an S Class MY 2008 and a 7 Series 2010. Luxury is not just about wood grain and fancy electronics, its build quality, uniqueness, refinement and prestige. The A8 in my opinion leads the S Class and looks and feels much more premium.
It's funny to me how they always complain about Audi/Volkswagen looks. How they lack "style" and all of that, but I think Audi/Volkswagens have the best looking design of ANY cars. It's that very subtle elegance that really does it. The cars aren't acting like they have anything to prove, because they've already proven it.
Sure I could barely afford a brochure let alone buy the car...but it makes me very happy Audi still make a W12 A8 in this day and age. Means I can dream. Love the W12. Just that little badge on the wings. Awesome.
+ataxie How are people still so dumb to buy German. Audi, VW and BMW have been the most costly and unreliable car ownership experiences. I thought all cars were as unreliable as German cars, until i bought a Toyota
For the very same reason you thought they would've won. They went overboard on quality, while the everyone else went for quantity. Even the finest meat grinders can jam.
Before then this car was new, what you said about it was completely positive compared to what you said about the last year of this generation of the Audi A8 as it has started to feel outdated over the years due to the amount of tech its rivals have. However, this car is still a very cool luxury car for anyone looking for one!
My dad recently bought an Audi S8, and I can say. The B & O speaker system is by far the best speaker i have heard in a car. And those tweeters! Every time he turns the car on i just stare at them :p
Please higher the volume for the video's before rendering them. I always need to turn my volume very high in order to hear what you are saying. Thanks.
The S60 is a great car. I've driven it before and it's lovely. Don't get me wrong, I love my 3-Series and A8, but the S60 gives me a feeling that I can't explain when I drive it. It's basically Audi refinement and BMW driving pleasure in 1 package. I don't think you read my comment properly. For now, my BMW and Audi will do.
The insignia was first displayed in 2008 at the British International Motor Show in London on 23 July. So the Mondeo had already been out way before then. That's even before it started sales, the Opel Insignia was made available in European dealerships in October 2008.
I have more of an idea than you ever will. When speccing up mine I had to scroll through the pain staking list of options (because nothing is standard) and I know what is included in the A1s optional packages. Every car with leather trim nowadays has a leather door insert... nothing special. The Mondeo is packed with chrome as standard, and has carbotex or aluminium door spears too, even the electric window switches, the USB port, or the glove box handle is surrounded in chrome in the Mondeo.
Funny you should say that, I have the vehicle specification for my A1 right here, I had to add what one could expect as standard on a Mondeo, optional on my A1. So, here we go: my top spec Black edition 1.4 TFSI 185ps petrol S-tronic had to have these options fitted which are seen as 'basic' by many people: Parking sensors, auto dimming rear view mirror, cruise control, heated and folding mirrors, tyre pressure indicator, floor mats, leather steering wheel, an armrest, heated seats...
It's not about power, but about delivery and torque. They could produced 500hp from a 6 cyl if they wanted to, but it would be nowhere near as smooth, effortless or naturally torquey and the V12.
They have compared the assistance systems and Ford was in the ranking behind VW, only a little bit better than Opel (the light system in the opel was better than that of the ford). So the technology is miles away too.
Listen to h/k in the e-class w211 and the burmester 3D sound in the new s-class. The tweeters from B&O are magnificant when it comes to design and function
Not at all, ~80hp per litre is not bad for a naturally aspirated engine. I meant having such a huge and complicated engine in times such as these. Downsizing, what downsizing?
I have explicitly exclaimed how my Mondeo has these features. A touchpad input isn't any more luxurious or 'one of a kind' than a touchscreen - it uses the same finger sensing technology, and the 7" touch screen is easier to use, as the letters are already on screen.
I completely agree with that last statement. Take the A4 - drove the saloon and estate versions (Dad's company cars) and you get as much steering feedback as playing a racing game on xbox.... not a patch on BMW and certainly not porsche
Difference is, I actually own a MKIV non facelift. I ought to make a video about Mondeos sometime, because not only you, but many other people stubbornly refuse to learn how nothing else can compare to the fine details. You could even use voice control to demist the windscreen, something that can't even be said for the A8.
Just research 'Ford Mondeo individual' - I think you will find the Mondeo can be had with more luxurious features than an optional 'leather steering wheel' and 'coloured air vents'. I rest my case.
If I must make a complaint about the stunningly fast engine, is that it's so fast it can make you feel uneasy behind the wheel. The Auto was average, couldn't really cope with the power but at least the 4wd gave more traction. Shame the engine was unrefined and old though. Remember, it's the same 2.8 v6 unit they used to have in the Signum (a vehicle I adore and own) - the Signum is amazing, a decieving car that looks plain, but is very comfortable and quick, and the whole thing makes me smile..
A touchpad uses the EXACT same technology that a touch screen does. On the large 7" colour touch screen of the Mondeo, the input of letters couldn't be easier, as all the letters are laid out and already there for you, so you don't have to attempt to draw them. It is also easier than the silly scroll/click wheel that Audi also uses. You can't say that drawing out letters is easier than pressing them on screen when they are right in front of you, because you might draw it wrong.
even tough Porsche makes amazing cars Audi wins in the quality section, I have been inside Porsches and Audis and the Audi quality is insane and so is the atention to detail, it easily takes over BMW and Merc
Almost forgot, you don't even get front fog lights or a trip computer as standard in the A1. Sorry, but for the money difference (not a lot) people with a budget of £14,000 would happily spend a tad extra by buying a Mondeo. Good day.
Your comments keep backfiring to you. You're first saying "The A1 is special compared to Ford because it has chrome, leather on the doors and some aluminium" - now you're saying the Astra has chrome and it's nothing special... but that was my excact point in the first place, it's nothing special. It depends what you class as a luxury feature, and what country you are in as to what you can specify. Just search for Ford Mondeo individual, you'll see what i'm talking about.
As with the optional extras, I was talking about the insignia, not the Mondeo. I was saying at least it offers a wide range of options and accessories.
You all prolly dont give a damn but does someone know a trick to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid forgot the password. I would love any help you can give me
I very like RR, and I knew when they both RR and Maybach came on sale, that RR will be better on sale market. People who afford, and can buy such a car the first they asked is the brand. RR is unsual, and tank made, a lot of weight, and in 20 century was the greatest design car and most fancy brand in automotive history. Maybach is just better designed W220 - what S class should be in the first place, of course without size of the maybach, but quality. Even that 62 has better ride that RR
I never said I didn't like Audi or BMW, I said that I'm not an Audi fanboy and that I don't like BMW's NEW designs. If I even considered Mercedes I would have owned one right now. I was seriously close to buying an S-Class. The A8 was released shortly afterwards. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was the right car for me. I absolutely love the interior and the exterior looks great too. I would happily own a Saab too, but I personally think Volvo is better. For now though, my BMW and Audi will do.
As for the A8, well yeah, you get a couple of bits here and there, night vision cameras and things, but you would hope so for the Mondeo starts at £15,995 now, and you get standard LED lights front and rear, leather, sports suspension, spoiler, 17" alloys, fog lamps, quick clear heated windscreen (you can't get that in an insignia or S-class or A8). What I'm saying is, for the price the Mondeo is a better car. Yes, you get a little less stuff, but it's not proportional, you spend much more to...
Ok. I agree, but for what you want great handling in luxury class a cars with over 5 meters long well over 2 tons of weight, and a lot of gadgets. This cars will never be as good as the M3's or M5's F10. The only thing in Audi has a really great advantage is a quattro system. Overall it's not as good as the W221 and it's a fact. It has smaller luggage volume, lower interior space. The great rival of W221 is on the other hand Lexus LS600h or even it's better than W221.
Do you know that Opel the german brand with the most rebate is? My Insignia Sports Tourer had a list price of around 40.000£, and i only had to paid 31.500£, so i got a price reduction of 18(%) percent. So your assertion is simply without practical knowledge... ;-)
I still thing that vw phaeton is much better for a lots of reasons. You said that audi "makes the half money" of the vw group but i disagree because nowhere in the world audi sells more cars than vw. AND all the people say that vw phaeton has better interior and exterior quality than it's competitors (audi a8, bmw 7 series, even jaguar xj)... never forget thet it's 100% handbuilt ...
6.3 litre W12! Surely that's a slightly bored out and non turbo version of the VW Group's 6.0 W12 they use in Bentley contis. Must be enormously powerful in this A8, never mind the S8.
just in case you were wondering, the entry level 3L diesel version goes from 0 to 60 in 6,2 second!
You just gotta love Audis simplicity
Prices are coming down nicely 🙂👌
20k euros and you can have one in France or a 7 series or s class
In Germany you get a A8 with 82k Kilometers for only €9.000. Absolutely brilliant
And they had reason for that 🤣

It’s Mat Watson from CarWow.
And next to me is yianni from yiannimize

I m using Audi A8L, very first time and i very much happy to have this - its been 2 months and I feel so good. alhumdulilah.
Congrats bro it's amazing car I'm in love too and I own one since 2 years

People who complain are those who can't afford.

Wait for next gen A8 , no A6 clone the current model can stand on it's own .

OK but interior room is quite importand in this kind a car, don't you think? Do you like design this Audi D4 better than Merc W221??? am only asking

Love seeing Mat Watson back in the days
Lord of the rings Audi A8 💪 beauty and the beast 👌 😍
That is a gorgeous car
It's not about power, but about delivery and torque. They could produced 500hp from a 6 cyl if they wanted to, but it would be nowhere near as smooth, effortless or naturally torquey and the V12.

Wish they made A8 avant.
In some ways you're right, since they share the same modular platform.

finaly new a8w12 now we have to wait only for new transporter
Maybe not where you're from. But the base 3.0l TDi and the Hybrid are both available with FWD only in Europe.
any changes? btw this and all new 2015??
Hi matt whatson from the past
Yeah, but sales numbers, shows which car is better in some way. Anyway good cars though.
So why cant you make a video of those Porsche ?
Love your reviews.
I have explicitly exclaimed how my Mondeo has these features. A touchpad input isn't any more luxurious or 'one of a kind' than a touchscreen - it uses the same finger sensing technology, and the 7" touch screen is easier to use, as the letters are already on screen.
The kind of designer that studied everything from industrial to identity design.
I didn't know Mat had an evil twin too! Tom Voelk anyone? Lol
Then a Titanium X Sport in panther black with 2.0 240ps EcoBoost may be the one you might want to take for a little test run.
Nice A8L and nice review
:O are you a wizard? who was driving when you were back there
I completely agree with that last statement. Take the A4 - drove the saloon and estate versions (Dad's company cars) and you get as much steering feedback as playing a racing game on xbox.... not a patch on BMW and certainly not porsche

*325 horsepower. And the Insignia is very refined, the car has intercepted a lot of old A4 & A6 buyer.
I like the S Klasse! My opinion! Anyway all the cars from this segment are awesome! A major problem is depreciation! Matt should say that!
I can vouch for the Bang and Olufsen. I have it in my s5, and it sounds astonishing.
Indeed !

Not available in your country, most likely. But it is a dealer fit option.

me: "laughs in left handed*
Now we know where Mat went. A8. Say no more.
So the Insignia is not in the same class too, the passat too, but on the internet you can find 3 comparisons between the old 5 Series and a Infiniti
You should be testing the US drive model!
To be honest this car looks really good, having seconds thoughts about MB, BMW and Lexus
what is you add it a Supercharger ?
"It's cheaper to buy, but it feels more expensive." I love what he said at the end. That describes Audi in a nutshell. Two thumbs up!
