Hey to fix the audio and remove all the background noise from the video, when you start a video, stay silent for 5 to 15 secs. then import the video audio to audacity. select the background silent noise area only and then go to noise reduction from effect at the top. press get noise profile then go to noise reduction again and apply it. you can toggle the settings and see how it feels. personally i keep the toggle settings low but get the noise profile again and again to remove the background completely. works really good.
it's not the note are off grid it's just that he's using another scale from the conventional harmonic minor/major or melodic minor/major scale it's good to try scale like Dorian, Mixolydian and Phrygian to get dark type of melodies
