Love the ultra wide but pro tip - you can call the Pisces and Rover at any mining outpost. Saves a lot of the trouble of trying to load the pieces at a space station. Just call it at a mining outpost, it’s the same spot you call the rover 😊
Hey, you can walk on the Carrack roof only at the areas that have some vertical lines that extend a little bit forward from the hangar roof. You can practice on the free fly mode in arena commander so you don't have to die all the time in PU :)
FYI, you can fly from that upper bridge station, and you can pull the pices from the mining outpost too, just don’t land on the landing pad or it’ll despawn the carrack. The blocking flight path was because you were in front of the vehicle pads
Love the Carrack. Great for trading and I use it for bunkers as you can respawn. Where the turrets are friendly I park close to the door, where not I have the Mule in the garage! The only ship I know of that makes noises even when completely powered off, it has atmosphere.
When you hit ALT-F4, you instantly put your Carrack into an unknown/abandoned state. If you are the only person on a ship and you leave it and then die, that seems to be a roll of the dice if the ship will enter an unknown state. However, you CAN leave the Carrack in orbit, stationary, and take the Pisces down to do ground missions and (usually) respawn in the med bay if you die.
It doesn't truly shine at combat but pretty much it does everything else in the game. I have it and as of today it's the best ship you can own in this game.
As a brand new Citizen, i love your content. I had a great time trying the ships on the Freefly. Im looking forward to buying my first in game ship now. Love my little Aurora MR but really enjoy the ROC mining. Thanks for the great content and tips.
I fell in love with the Carrack the first day I played SC. Invictus this year, Carrack is now my main in-game ship goal (I can't justify the Expedition package expense!) . I can't wait for all its functionality to be enabled, and to find out more about the modules you can switch out. This Free Fly is just making me fall in love all over again
and then again, if I remember correctly, you can summon the picies from a platinum bay vehicle terminal on outposts aswell, so no need to even go out of your way at port olisar to store the carrack, you can land the carrack beside the platinum bay and get the picies and a land vehicle all in one place.
Hey Ollie. Definitely time to start doing some big collab videos with other content creators! That way you can start really using these bigger ships to their full potential! Big ships, big guns, big missions!! Make sure Gary gets those decks swabbed properly!
I love the Pisces, like a little Starfleet shuttle craft for ferrying people to and from a planet's surface but with decent space inside. The only thing that comes close is the Argo MPUV but that's pretty sluggish. Wish there were more snub-sized people carriers.
I love my Carrack. I use a similar loadout to yours, although I prefer using a somewhat more efficient Quantum Drive. I use Laser Cannons for the Dorsal and Ventral turrets while keeping the Laser Repeaters on the Port and Starboard turrets. The weapon configuration is what the Carrack originally had before the default was changed.
Best ship in tghe game hands down, it's literally what made me pull the trigger on the game. Reminded me of the FC in Elite, load up for a long adventure and go
I just love your enthusiasm in every video you do. It makes such a change from all the whinging and bickering that many do! Love it Olli! The Carrack is great, but when we get the liberator, and other proper cap ships, HOW AWESOME will they be!?
Love the Carrack and it was my first big pledge. What's not to love? It can outrun most ships, fly farther without refueling, its a bullet sponge and you can haul cargo and vehicles at once. With all turrets manned it can wear out multiple fighter attacks. I will be melting mine one day since its not meant for solo play.
The gravity field for the flight deck only works on the hangar doors and a foot or two passed them. Stepping beyond places you (links you) to the gravity of the planet. The transition will almost adjusts desync you from the ship until they eventually refine the code. Alt f4 no longer activates crash handler protection. In the situation you were in the best course would have been to accept the death and rs on the carrack. If for some reason you rs somewhere else. Request a transport from wherever you wake to your carrack and you might be able find it still flying along if it didn't crash and the transport beacon actually works. You should get your personal ship locater icon on your hud if you get close enough to it. -SC Guide
Absolutely adore this ship, currently fly it with an 85x in the hangar and an Ursa in the garage. I love using the Carrack to get me between planets, parking it at an orbital marker and using the 85x to descend and land at my bunker missions.
At ArcCorp mining area, you can’t park too close to the ground vehicle pads. Actually you shouldn’t park too close to any landing pad. I also never land on the pads. If you’re buying or selling commodities (or drugs) you can park pretty far away and still buy/sell your goods. Also works at space stations Etc. I used to park outside Grim Hex off to the side of the upper landing pads, and just leave it floating there while selling.
This was one of the funniest video you've done! Its a ton of fun to watch your videos and it's insane that every video is a new adventure, SC is going to be epic! Great editing by the way!
While our Carracks can carry several additional ground and small ships, be wary of spawning more than 3 at a time........you'll run into de-spawning issues with the Carrack! Also, I have the ultra-wide as well.....its awesome!
I really think this ship is good for a solo player (even better with friends) but i've always hated how it looks, so I'm excited for the Galaxy to come out because I actually like the design of that and imagine it'll fulfill similiar if not the same purposes as the Carrack
Very glad to see your successful video recording of the Carrack vehicle utility. I've tried several times to do this. Each time failed due to 30K or ship de-spawns, Platinum Bay ASOP terminal bugs out, etc. If not that, then some obnoxious wanna-be pirate decides to harass Port Olisar.
Best part will be those modular pods in the future. Extra cargo room is fine, but a bay/pod dedicated to excavation or refinement or deployable ground pods for temporary planet expedition camping will be so much better.
Brilliant lol Would love to see you do a tutorial on your PC specs, settings, and how you get and stream such great quality form such a GPU hungry game 😄
Its great to load up the Carrack with a Pisces in the hanger and a space buggy in the garage. I even fit a HoverQuad in the garage for max fun. Then stock up all my fav armor, weapons, supply and if I survive the game day without Exploding then bed log in deep space and come back tomorrow with everything how I left it. Sure this don't always work but it's worked mostly and it feels so good.
I had the Carrack since day 1 it got flight ready as a pledge ship and I love it. It's that ship I will probably never melt or get rid of. The only thing is that one and only enterance through the front ramp which so many times had my Carrack boarded by ppl who can'r mind their own business. Hopefully with server blades and AI crew I will be able to "solo" the ship better in the future but for now I usually only fly my Carrack when I got friends from my community with me. Also, I usually go to Microtech New Babbage and put the Pisces and a ground vehicle in the Carracks hangar and garage at the surface enterance by the spaceport as it's safer as u just land on top of the hangar doors of the Carrack and let the Pisces drop in as you open the them. Lastly I just get out again and get me a ground vehicle and simply drive it in from the space port garages. The not being able to spawn back on the ship would have worked if you teamed up with anyone on that server to join them back to it because the ship stays there and that is the only way to work around it til we get global persistence servers. I just park the Carrack in orbit on close to any OM marker to whatever planet/moon I am visiting and from there I take the Pisces and do what I need to do. As long as I don't leave the server the Carrack stays. At the end all you needed would be a rover of some kind and slowly push him out.
Your work inspired me to save up for this game, 3 more months to go' in the mean time I'm enjoying the content. Thanks a million for some of the best content out there. Much appreciated :D
Did you spawn multiple vehicles? Apparently you can only spawn three vehicles at once, or the next one will delete the first you ordered. Learned that the hard way, when i wanted to equip my carrack with pisces, hoverquad and cyclone. :(
@@samheini yeah, it seems to happen quite a lot on spawning of my third vehicle, but always if I try and spawn a 4th. But then vanishing Carracks and 890s does seem to be a thing I get a lot! As seen in this video, pretty sure that’s what happened at the end! Haha
Each ship has a gravity generator. The moment you leave the gravity generator's influence (like the front of the Carrack) you'll be detached from the ship, but unfortunately SC ground physics don't carry your momentum (decoupled flight does, btw and is ESSENTIAL for mobile ship docking--your Pisces into a traveling Carrack, for example) . On foot, it means you'll slam into your Carrack or go flying off.
That upper deck spot In the bridge is another pilot spot. You can fly the ship from up there but I couldn't use quantum drive while up there or else id always fly from up top because I think it looks neat and I like the idea of having access to the turret seats of needed
you can get the pisces from mining locations too, also you can carry 1 more ship on top of the hanger too and it will store and keep it with the carrack
you can actually carry 2 pices or a pices and snub fighters. The top deck doors to the hanger have gravity and a ship will stick to it when you fly around. You can also fit 2 vehicles in front
They should code it that if you use a ship med bay, you respawn there regardless of crime stat. Makes it incentive for having such a ship even within an organization and incentive for bed logging. Actually living out of your ship only docking for supplies.
I love my Carrack, and it will be my exploration ship when you can do long distance exploration. Also, there is a distance cap for the spawn on the ship beds.
You can land on the roof of the landed area kinda, but actually land, but leave a ship floating above. So you could hover the carrack above the roof, then EVA to the aesop terminals, then just bring out the Pisces and land it... Less hassle, and faster
Carrack is THE best ship. Full stop. It's perfect. Perfect size. Perfect layout. Perfect bridge. ALMOST perfect interior (could be better here). Looks perfect. It's just the best ship full stop.
Me and my crew had to go to port olisar once and our captain had to go into the port for some reason (I forgot why). Little did we know there was a person in a mustang beta behind us and somehow managed to GET IN AND STEAL THE SHIP. We were pretty mad considering that it takes 45 mins to claim.
I guess more people should talk about how the pisces can be spawned on the ground. For me, it is now the best ship in the game, plus a 40s reclaim time :)
Out of the 27 ships I own, the Carrack is the ship I plan on living out of and doing everything with. All my other ships are for lend out to my main orgs ship pool
The only thing I wish the Carrack had and it dosn't is a lift entrance. It could use the already present lift with an extra "surface" level added to it. It would make this ship a 11/10.
I'm glad vehicle pre-loading is coming in the next couple quarters. Also, ALT-F4 is the biggest troll in the Verse. We should call out anyone who tells new players to do that.
it has been mentioned - just fly your carrack to any location you can spawn ground vehicles ;) you can spawn the pisces AND the rover there and its much easier getting it in - only 30ks and CTDs are not your friend - CIG should and will make the carrack spawn with its rover and snub fighter together like the connies atm (mind you that is broken to degree as well ;)
I don't know what it is about human psychology that makes us like lists. Like I really don't care about someone else's list, but then I still watch them.
@@The_Opinion_of_Matt and in this case it's a good way to learn about more ships at once for a person that doesn't play SC and is just interested in the ships because of a general interest in military aviation (real or fiction)
For your idea of parking the Carrack ahead of bounty combat Olli, a great option is the Arrow. Until CIG enable gears to be deploying independently of wings, you just park it without landing gears and it’s no problem, and fits perfectly, and is obviously a high performance dedicated light fighter. The Buccaneer also squeezes in diagonally.
The grav plating on the top of the carrack only extends to the area where you see the diagonal lines, and the hangar door. Step off that and you're no longer in the Carrack's gravity which is why you were falling off while it was in flight.
Except, he was within the gravity of the planet, and relatively level with the ground, so his intertial plane was the ship. He should be able to jump or walk along and stay with the ship the whole time, minus wind resistance.
@@CJICantLie That's not how SC physics works. Once he's off the carrack gravity pad, he's in the planet frame of reference, where as far as it's concerned he's been flung by the fast moving ship into the air.
@@Arkalius80 yep, clearly it is not. Mostly questioning the physics. They should, for reality sake, keep you in the plane of the last object touched at minimum, and at maximum, add some air resistance for an even more realistic experience. what me and my friends used to do is we would use the carrack for mining in a way were we would grab an extra ship to hold the ROC miner and we would go to good planets to mine then we would have an extra ship in the hangar and we would scout out for the good stuff to mine then we would load up some ROC's and go mining and sure enough we made millions all together
the ONLY few things that annoy me with the Carrack is, that invisible hangar Ceiling, that when you retrieve the carrack, the Picses has its landing gear retracted and the Ursa Rover moves around and gets damage on the engines, which lead to it not be able to drive anymore..
I wonder how the game decided you had an armistice violation after collecting a passenger? Wouldn't it be interesting to get the full story on what caused the NPC to be where it was and capable of being rescued, but then cowering as though threatened? The software logic path had to be pretty odd.
A great thumbnail but try that exact shot from an upper elevation to see the Hager with the top hanger door open so you could see your other toy in there at the same time😉

Love the ultra wide but pro tip - you can call the Pisces and Rover at any mining outpost. Saves a lot of the trouble of trying to load the pieces at a space station. Just call it at a mining outpost, it’s the same spot you call the rover 😊
The cockpit kinda looks like if you are sitting in a ti fighter ... love it
Hey, you can walk on the Carrack roof only at the areas that have some vertical lines that extend a little bit forward from the hangar roof. You can practice on the free fly mode in arena commander so you don't have to die all the time in PU :)
That guy being on your ship situation felt like my first internship.
I generally use a mining outpost as you can claim and request a Pisces at Platinum Bay stations as well as an Ursa
Great video. A random thing I love about the Carrack is how the cargo bay will be filled up with containers when doing a big transport.
But it happened to me that I respawned back where I left when I managed to hit the same server.
Last time I checked, the respawn range on the Carrack and 890 is 25km.
This is my dream ship simply because it does almost everything and it has a homey vibe to it.
It doesn't truly shine at combat but pretty much it does everything else in the game. I have it and as of today it's the best ship you can own in this game.
I love to watch your videos in the background while working, videoquality is btw just insane mate
As a brand new Citizen, i love your content. I had a great time trying the ships on the Freefly. Im looking forward to buying my first in game ship now. Love my little Aurora MR but really enjoy the ROC mining. Thanks for the great content and tips.
Also, there's only gravity above the hangar on the carrack, walking elsewhere is no step.
So glad you did a in depth video of the carrack
I love how his space suit makes him look like the Pillsbury marshmallow man
Wow, this game is huge and so immersive
Wow, I laughed so hard. Surprised me so much when you got all set up and went on top of the carrack. Wasn't expecting that to be in the video.
"landing on the dusty moon Daymar" you sounded like a damn tour guide and im all in for it
The gravity field for the flight deck only works on the hangar doors and a foot or two passed them.
-SC Guide
You're very trusting always leaving the doors to your ships open!
When you said, "I am so happy" twice it reminded me of a shrimp character on Shark Tale movie.
This game is so in depth with the ships it’s amazing, and would be awesome in vr, despite not being vr
Absolutely adore this ship, currently fly it with an 85x in the hangar and an Ursa in the garage.
I love using the Carrack to get me between planets, parking it at an orbital marker and using the 85x to descend and land at my bunker missions.
Thats sick
I never played this game or knew about it until I found this channel last week. I can’t get enough 😂👍
I used to park outside Grim Hex off to the side of the upper landing pads, and just leave it floating there while selling.
lmfao @ 19:36 "..this is the coolest.... OH NO!" Instant classic. Good show man. Good show.
I'm amazed that you were able to get it done at PO without being ship rammed 👍😉
Youre back! And with my first favourite ship second being the 600i.
I’d love to join your crew and go on some awesome adventures with you and the rest of the Olli gang🫡😎
I really think this ship is good for a solo player (even better with friends) but i've always hated how it looks, so I'm excited for the Galaxy to come out because I actually like the design of that and imagine it'll fulfill similiar if not the same purposes as the Carrack
The Carrack is a fantastic ship. I bought one as soon as I saw its specs.
The only ship I'm looking forward to more is the Endeavor.
Carrack is a cool ship. You can also park a Buccaneer in the hanger if you line it up diagonally.
MOAR ultrawide please - absolutely loving it. Keep up the good work.
Best part will be those modular pods in the future. Extra cargo room is fine, but a bay/pod dedicated to excavation or refinement or deployable ground pods for temporary planet expedition camping will be so much better.
Brilliant lol
Would love to see you do a tutorial on your PC specs, settings, and how you get and stream such great quality form such a GPU hungry game 😄
Only really played on the freefly event but fav ship is the carrack
Awesome you might be in time for the next big update!
@@ThatBreaKguy Honestly can't wait man XD
@@JPN762 I don't blame you, its a rabbit hole though, im now looking at ships that I cant afford so I can do more videos 🤣🤣
I think it looks really good. I love the front cargo ramp and the overall design.
You can spawn small ships from the mini planet side vehicle claim points, so you can do both together… but my Carrack did vanish when I did that once!
Just hung out with some homies in one of their carracks... oh boy was it fun! The additional snub fighter was just icing on the case.
you can actually carry 2 pices or a pices and snub fighters.
Beautiful footage! Loving the new widescreen format! Please keep it!
This game looks like a movie, some real effort gone into it
Lol thumbs up for the ending. The frustration is real
The biggest recurring theme in SC is how many dumb ways there are to die. Love it
The only thing I wish the Carrack had and it dosn't is a lift entrance. It could use the already present lift with an extra "surface" level added to it. It would make this ship a 11/10.
I'm glad vehicle pre-loading is coming in the next couple quarters. Also, ALT-F4 is the biggest troll in the Verse. We should call out anyone who tells new players to do that.
@Olli43 'Harold the Hostage' for the guy in the garage
it has been mentioned - just fly your carrack to any location you can spawn ground vehicles ;) you can spawn the pisces AND the rover there and its much easier getting it in - only 30ks and CTDs are not your friend - CIG should and will make the carrack spawn with its rover and snub fighter together like the connies atm (mind you that is broken to degree as well ;)
Thank you! I’m now in love with the carrack.
Ollie needs to make a ship tier list video or a video about his Top 10 fav ships
Connie Phoenix is definitely top 3 for Ollie haha
I don't know what it is about human psychology that makes us like lists. Like I really don't care about someone else's list, but then I still watch them.
@@The_Opinion_of_Matt because we are all curious to know whats exactly on the other person’s mind !
The Buccaneer also squeezes in diagonally.
its a fun carrier with 5 merlins parked in there.
@@Dragon69FlyTeam Haha, I imagine you could even perhaps squeeze a couple of Merlin’s in the parking garage too!
But who am I kidding, people still die walking up stairs. LOL
lol you got yourself a futuristic Bob! (Bobs are human shaped punching bags, look it up if you want to see it XD).
I have stood in the rear engine while the pilot QT'd, basically hitched a ride in the engine. Lived too.
what me and my friends used to do is we would use the carrack for mining in a way were we would grab an extra ship to hold the ROC miner and we would go to good planets to mine then we would have an extra ship in the hangar and we would scout out for the good stuff to mine then we would load up some ROC's and go mining and sure enough we made millions all together
the jump from the carrack was priceless 🤣🤣🤣
I like the fact that you have literally everything in this game and it isn’t even released yet
the ONLY few things that annoy me with the Carrack is, that invisible hangar Ceiling, that when you retrieve the carrack, the Picses has its landing gear retracted and the Ursa Rover moves around and gets damage on the engines, which lead to it not be able to drive anymore..
Besides the Andromeda, this ship would be the Anaconda of Star Citizen for me. The ship that you buy that is like “winning” the game. Lol. Love it.
Yess, loving the 21:9! Thanks for the videos Olli
I wonder how the game decided you had an armistice violation after collecting a passenger? Wouldn't it be interesting to get the full story on what caused the NPC to be where it was and capable of being rescued, but then cowering as though threatened? The software logic path had to be pretty odd.
A great thumbnail but try that exact shot from an upper elevation to see the Hager with the top hanger door open so you could see your other toy in there at the same time😉
the jump was. hilarious. best ever. epic
I love the Carrack.. it’s such a cool ship. So damn versatile.
