      @@RickRackTravels We are an older couple who started an online business and have several side businesses we are cultivating. Bottom line, they are all online so location of residence is a moot point. We have seen many vids on Mexico and after much consideration and online recon, have settled on making Puerto Morelos our home. The cost of living, the beach, and even areas if we want to hump a ruck through the boonies is available. She is in TX and I am in Canada, and this will bring the biz, and us, together in the perfect place.

      Hi Heather. Many rentals have Queen or King beds already in them. If you found a rental you liked with only a double, you would need to reach out to the property manager or owner to negotiate. We believe you can bring your boat so long as you have the proper paperwork and perhaps a temporary import license something similar to if you were bringing a car from the States for up to six months. There is a dock in town for mooring but not sure of the costs. If you are looking to bring your boat full time and thinking of relocating I believe it's a little more complicated but not impossible.

      I asked my friend Gladys (from this video) She said Yes you can flush it. But it is not recommended. Not all the toilet paper is the same quality as USA or Canada ( I think it’s thinner? ) But even at that it sometimes can get clogged up. You do get used to putting it in the trash bin. Honestly !! 😂

      @@RickRackTravels o thanks so much, I just heard some places do and some don’t. I wanted to know since I think I’ll be retiring there somewhere in el faro in 18 months. I buy the highest quality toilet paper money can buy that good to flush if I have to. 😂

      Hi, there are a number of developments out the Ruta de los Cenotes between PM nad Leona Vicario. Please check out our video entitled "Could you live in the Jungle" for more information. Apart from that you would need to look at a private sale of land in the Jungle. As with any purchase of property in Mexico ensure you deal with recommended sources only and seek legal advice prior to purchase.

      @@RickRackTravels Thank you. Only just found your channel. It's lovely to have a couple who actually have knowledge as not just passing through, as you have put down roots. Hoping to move over from Suffolk UK in Six years, with two dogs. Have watched your doggie beach day. Will watch the video you mentioned. Also watching your video on your home renovation. So exciting and sad as I want to start living.

      Oh That's exciting it's a big move from the UK but there are a few people in town here from various parts of the UK. Unfortunately that particular beach club is now shut down and dogs are not allowed on the main beach as it is part of the National Park. There is a beach called Punta Bravo South of town were you can let your dogs roam freely. Good luck with everything perhaps we will run into you one day!!

    Update 7-13-2023
    Puerto Morelos is no longer a secret. Prices have doubled for everything, Rent, Food, Beer, Their clear cutting the Jungle and building Condo Developments. There's no Inferstructure being built to keep up. Everything Flood's during heavy Rain 🌧️. This coming Winter it will be another shit show. We had a medical emergency at our community Pool, 47 Minutes for Paramedics to arrive after calling 911. The Paramedic's weren't Bilingual. I realize were in Mexico but its Marketed to American's and Canadians. Ive been here Two years, my advise is to choose wisely and dont base everything on the Vacation Feel, rent here for 6 my months first. Our community pool is 90 degrees today and will stay this way until October. 😮

    Not 100% relevant to the video -- nicely done, by the way -- but you seem to be no-nonsense folk so a couple of questions I'd like to run by you, if I may. I was intensely interested in PM at one point but then scratched it off my list. One reason is because the Yucatan humidity is supposedly utterly overbearing. I know Florida humidity, but PM sounds even worse. How do you find the humidity? The second reason, and it's the only beach community I've explored where this is the case, is that you have this wonderful beachside/centro area and then a significant expanse of foliage before you get to Colonia. So I worry that I would feel "removed" enough that it wouldn't seem I'm even living in a beach community. Thoughts? Many thanks!

    • @RickRackTravels
      @RickRackTravels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello and thank you for your comment. I don’t know about no-nonsense folk but I will try to give you our thoughts on those 2 questions.
      Yes- very hot and humid in the summer!! We were worried about that too and thought we may end up in a mountainous, cooler region of Mexico. But we deliberately rented down here in the summer to see how it felt. I do think 1) we have become more acclimated to the temps here 2) we live differently- get shopping & errands done early in the day or later in day. So yes it is humid but we love it here.
      Secondly, we live in La Colonia but feel blessed to feel apart of both sides of PM. They both have so much to offer and are literally 5 mins away.
      Thanks again for watching 😀 and hope that helps a bit
