This is fantastic! After so many years of knitting and taking everyone's word for it that you must go down 1-2 needle sizes when ribbing, I never fully understood why. Like, shouldn't the ribbing alone be enough to make that part of the work "smaller" (more elastic)? And now I know what to look for to avoid having to do that workaround. I always hated switching needles (there were times I forgot to switch after ribbing! argh!) and the stitch size difference bugged me.

This video is just what I need. Thanks for share your knowledge. I'm lerning Norwegian knit style and I think that can help to improve my tension.

Great tip, I will try it. It seems that you are also changing the direction of the throw?

Thank you so much for this video! My ribbing always comes out looking like that, with my knit columns much wider. I've always heard to wrap the yarn clockwise around the needle in order to combat that but it never really helped. I'm going to try this instead, thank you 😊

Thank you so much for this video. I have been looking for a way to fix my ribbing for days.

This problem is also very obvious when I do yarnovers from knit to purl. I think it is more of a problem for english style knitters than for continental style. If one is able to swap styles keeping the yarn in the left hand for ribbing also helps.
