- The City of Cape Town’s law enforcement officers chased down two suspects on the N2. After a dramatic chase caught on a dashboard camera, the officers managed to arrest the suspects and clear the area before angry-looking bystanders could confront the officers.

I'm shocked at the ordacity of the public when the cops apprehend a suspect. I wonder if the suspect had stolen from one of the public if the outcome would have been the same
What we forget is they try to flee to home turf so among those “defenders of justice” are the criminals family who don’t want to see their brother/father/son/nephew locked up even though they’re a wrong one.
It all boils down to people that don't use condoms. :)

They did announce a couple of weeks ago that they're going to get bodycams. But didn't give a date. Probably after we've all been vaccinated and after the Zondo commission if finalized. So maybe another 10 years or so?

What did they do to be suspects? the car they driving concerns me... I was once chased like that by cops in another province and yet I did nothing wrong... I out drove them, dumped the car and went to a police station and then they were AWOL... it's sad to be arrested for nothing... But most people only see through the eyes of the law.

It would be weird seeing police drive in anything other than expensive cars in Dubai but here in SA, it's pretty unnecessary expenditure. I understand the need for police to use fast, low profile, unmarked cars but a Lexus??? Police spending budget is simply too tight for flying squad to be balling out on " more higher range" cars.

When the Ghost Squad got these vehicles they were cheaper than Golf GTI's . And it's been 5 years, by now I am sure that these cars have already paid for themselves in terms of the money they've collected in previously unpaid fines and warrant skippers.
The police budget is tightening because some Tenderpreneur's wife wants the new Gucci or Louboutin or a useless airline needs a bailout once again!
